@@nezaeya I understand, but I still have Keith Michell in my mind. Saw “Six Wives” on PBS. Several times. I just don’t think that The Tudors was historically accurate.
Are we talking about the same person? Is this because he cried over his mom's deathbed because other than that he's a complete sociopath. A cute one yes, but kind and loving no. Jesus Christ lol.
Actually Henry as a young man and King was said to be kind and generous, he was still hot tempered, but he wasn’t truly a tyrant until his later years. He was a good and loving husband to Katherine and a good father to Mary pre Anne Boleyn. Also u have to remember I’m talking about good and loving for the time period. Not what we would consider good and loving by today’s standards
Guys, king henry is a complety different person than he was portray in the series. He beheaded two queens because he counld't have a son. He was such misogynistic that his daughter with Catherine never married, because she knew what man are capable to do in that time, since her mother was prisioner until her death. So he wasn't kind and loving. He was a king, who didn't love woman, just uses them, as we know he married six times. You have to separete real life and history from ficcional series. P.S: His daughter with Ana Bolena, Elizabeth, that was the last tudor and never got married. Thank you guys for the correction.
@@jessicaschmeling209 Yes, he beheaded Anna Boleyn, because he thought She was a witch(or wat) And he beheaded his 5th wife because she cheated him. (Sry for my english:/)
Oh sure... for a few weeks. He started off with the affairs immediately, even caused a big to do by screwing a noblemans sister during Catherine's first pregnancy then had the gall to blame it on her for being in confinement, real charming!

All cool but you know he wanted her executed but couldn’t because she was a princes of Spain he made her life hell because she wouldn’t divorce him. Changed the religion of the land so he could get rid and re marry. And made stuff up about the others so he could have um beheaded. The last one probably only lasted because he dropped dead first. I’m English I love kings queen lords knights and all the other. I’m big fan of Henry 8th but let’s not pretend he wasn’t a cunt
Ah, you read The Constant Princess! She lived in England poor and lonely for years before Henry VII and Lady Grandmother died, leaving only Harry, or Henry VIII as an heir. I believe he did love her then. They were married for 24 yrs and she had 6 or 7 miscarriages. The other 5 wives never lasted more than a year or two, and he had two beheaded.
I think that he knew that she slept with Arthur, and was just biting his tongue until the time suited him. He slept with Catherine’s sister as revenge for her sleeping with his brother and then lying about it. He was smarter then what people thought.
The real King Henry VIII never slept with Katherine's sister and Katherine probably never consummated her marriage with his brother because he was probably too sick and weak to have sex. And why would Henry be upset? Katherine was married to Arthur and it was expected for them to sleep together.
Yeah their conversation at 1:40 proves it. He clearly knew. Then when their first son died, Catherine said if it's their punishment and basically told him just by giving him a look. Henry knew it but at that time was still in love and hopeful for an heir.
@juliaserento9928 I think the real CoA never consummated her marriage with Arthur since he was very sickly and probably not physically able to have sex.
Great video, really well done. I'm a bit shocked by all the crazies praising Henry for being such a Prince to Catherine in the beginning, like none of them seem to get how he started off cheating immediately in both real life and show, and how he acted like a spoiled a-hole from day 1 and backstabbed pretty much everyone constantly but since he's cute we all pretend differently lol.
Well, it is a TV show, so it's more about glitter than history. In the show, Catherine is no virgin either, so maybe they met their match in each other. I've read some history that suggests she was a virgin. She was noted for being generous to others, as she is to poor people and those around her who are upset.
Prince Harry is so much more loveable in this show than King Henry VIII is depicted in history (in his later years), which reminds me of how it's stated that he was quite charming and loved in the eyes of his people when he inherrited the throne from his father.
I’m laughing at all the comments saying Henry wasn’t that bad as a young man and he and Catherine were good together when no one would be saying that if Ruairi wasn’t good looking and he and Charlotte didn’t have such good chemistry lol.
