- Reviewing Invite Only Amber 23 from KAYALI aka Huda Beauty. This will be the last time I review the brand due to the appalling treatment by the member of staff at their counter in Selfridges in Manchester.

I’m sad you don’t like the fragrance of course but I’m way more sad & upset you weren’t treated well. That is NOT okay & I’m really sorry. 🙏🏻❤️

Had a similar experience with a macys employee . She was trying to get my mom to buy a perfume. A simple floral clean, fresh perfume(jasmine accord, masses of hedione, sandalwood). The lady was so quick with everything, very rude and was insisting this smelt like nothing she’s ever smelt before. All she wanted was that sale, didnt care what my mom liked or anything. I told the sales associate that it was boring and smelt like every other clean floral. She hated me 😂😂 my mom appreciated it cuz later she settled for delina la rosee which was far more unique in her opinion. We love the lychee in it. So juicy and fresh. The sales associate for parfums de marly was super polite and caring. I hate when i feel rushed when buying a perfume.
Macy's is *terrible* ...if you are not there to buy one of their endless-the-same sharp/metallic synthetic headache-inducing mass-appeal-boring bombs, they want nothing to do with you. The only exception there has ever been was when a gay man was working there and I looked good that day. (lol, but seriously). I dread even approaching their counters, so I mostly don't.
@@JoinTheProgress hahaha totally agree, i once brought a reformulation i made of baccarat rouge to a mfk counter In macys so i could compare it and the guy that was there looked so disgusted while i was comparing….tbh it was a pretty bold move but i didnt care 😁😂

If I get that attitude from a sales associate, I walk away and buy it from somewhere else, if even at all because they are representing that brand. I work in retail too, just because it's Selfridges doesn't make them special! There's just no need for it. If they don't care about customers they should go work somewhere else. Thank you for calling that B out! 🙌
I'm really sorry you had to go through that, hate it when that happens, hopefully you will experience something better soon, something that washes off that horrid experience. Thanks for the reviews!

Kayali’s fragrances are really like Viktoria secret’s body sprays for me … would never pay full retail for it
It’s not for everyone it definitely can be overwhelming. I like this one more layered with Vanilla | 28

I have one question, I made my first fragrance, using 99%naturals, and I have problem with dissolving, some of the oils are not dissolved in alcohol(I use perfumers alcohol 96%), I think it could be patchouli that makes problems, I used sweet orange, ylang ylang, mint, rosemarey, lavander(40/42 standard), west virginian cederwood, frankincense serrata, patchouli and couple drops of some vannila smelling oil for aromatherapy, It is ice creamy one

I love that you always highlight the service aspect of buying fragrances. I work in food service I’ve worked both back and front of house. You always treat the customer with respect. I’ve been fired for selling weed (prior to it being legal) at a job that the manager still to this day gives me a reference because I’ve always been good with any customer and i learn the product.
It’s also the first thing I comment on when I go into shoppers to buy fragrances, if the store clerk is helpful or knowledgeable. They almost never ate and it’s a shame. Can’t wait to move to a large city instead of this po dunk town and buy some real fragrances

I'll never understand the prejudgment sales people give to those that don't look like their core demo. Maybe I'm buying it for somebody? And also... isn't it your job to upsell me on shit I don't need? lol
I got a jobsworth in Boots last week. As I dont have a Boots card, I offer my loyalty points to the customer behind me and the assistant was complaining about it

The fun parts is that they life in a two bedroom apartment while i am buying a 400 euro fragrance

Oh god, I do not see that at all. I found Kayali super sharp and almost harsh, and Oajan is so smooth and delicious.
Make sure Huda pays you what you deserve when she reformulates it and starts cashing in on this

Selfridge’s customer service has been really up and down lately, I went in looking for Rose Prick and the sales assistant gave me this smirk as if to say “don’t waste my time, you aren’t going to buy it”.
This parfum exact the same as guerlain black perfekto🙄and it is a half of the kayali price 😪😪so sad

I really don't like Kayali fragrances for the reasons you described, especially that they need grounding. People seem to love the vanilla but I think the same of it. I don't think I am the demographic for which this brand was created. I think that demographic is people who use the makeup brand associated with the perfume, and usually those are younger people. Anyway, I'm sorry someone treated you badly. One thing I have learned in life is that you can never judge a person based on wnat they look like. Once I ran into a jewelrey shop which specialized in Tahitian pearls, and I was looking very un-glamorous because I happened to be passing by after having ridden my bicycle into the town from far away, and the jerk who worked at the shop basically wouldn't show me anything because he didn't think I understood how costly pearls are, but I'd be willing to bet I know much more than he about pearls, just as you knew much more about perfume.
