Star-delta starter |Complete wiring of power and control circuit| Star-delta control connection

- This video shows a practical demonstration of a complete star-delta starter connection with a detailed explanation.
The video explains how to wire both the power circuit and the control circuit. Also indicating lamps were used, to show at anytime, whether the motor is running in star or delta configurations.
This video will fully teach you, how to wire your own star-delta motor starter.
To be able to clearly understand the concept of the star delta control connection, you will have to understand a few things, such as: "how to wire a timer", "how to interlock two contactors", "how to connect 3-phase motor terminals in star and delta".
I have separate videos on all these topics. click on the links below, to watch them for a clearer understanding.

Waow!!! this is fantastic and educative. God bless you. May you live long so we can have more advance videos like and than this.....
Thanks for the encouragement bro.
Honesty speaking best explaination i have watched. So please keep up the good work.
Keep going bro , great job and I look forward for the next video 🌹🌹🌹
bro you have taught me infact every thing am here Uganda but the heart you having brother is only God almighty to reward you have tuaght me a lot how to no load capacity o f breaker, how to install automatic change over using contactors, forward and reverse ,star delta etc infact obloni am your student
I love 💕 this comment. I feel so good to know my videos are so helpful. Thanks for letting me know bro. Please you can also help others by sharing. Share with your friends and groups.👍
Good knowledge sharing, but i didn't see the schematics of the wiring. Would've been better with it. Thanks 🙏 for the knowledge.
Excellent brother...... Need more videos using contactors, relays, thermal overloads.. ❤❤❤❤ from Sri Lanka
Well noted bro.
You don't have to miss watching this 👍❤💯

Thanks boss
I'm mechanical engineer working with Waterboard here in Malawi
You have really helped me since i didn't understand what was my electrician doing

Wow! I am very glad it was so helpful. Thanks
Good job, is there the electrical diagram for this installation. I will really appreciate if you can posted, again looks fantastic.

Well noted. But if you need urgently for a project, you can contact me on WhatsApp+233209323669
Good one but y is star contactor always loop together
Very educational👍🏼
Thanks bro.
Sir i have not seen while you are connecting the indicators. Otherwise i thank you for this marvelous job
Please kindly watch carefully
Keep on sir......
Ure really doing well ....
Thanks
This is the only video educating very well star delta connection, the way u read numbers others do not, but about the connection of time relay u didn't explain it well, show us output and inputs of relay
Thanks for the comment. Please concerning the connection of the timer, I skipped it because I already made two videos to clearly explain how the timer works and how to connect it properly. And I think I mentioned it in the video. Please use these links to watch those videos.

Thanks.
Thank you bro
Good job
That's great 👍
This is very complicated, can you do it in phases?
Oh Seth, I tried to make it easy oo. You would have to take your time to watch it carefully. You may also have to refer to the links I shared.
Nevertheless I will consider breaking it in bits by separating the power connection from the control wiring. I think that should make it a little bit simple. Thanks
well explain sir, but base on the timer relay terminals, you did not specify what terminal 5, 6, 7 and 1 are either NC, NO, A1 or A2. Thanks

Hi dear, I'm very interested in this video teaching of electrical installation. Why not U using mechanical interlock in connection of Star dellta?
There are different ways that you can interlock the contactors. We have electrical interlocking and mechanical interlocking. I will show mechanical interlocking in another video
Thank you for your understanding
I didn't see where you took the supply to the single pole breaker
Please watch this other video for clarity: use this link

So you can take that connection either from the live input at the contactor or from the switchboard.
Usually L1 L2 L3 are input and T1 T2 and T3 are output. It doesn't matter that much though.
Sure
What is the "bridge" for on the Wye(Star) contactor. What good does it do.I do not see how any current goes through the Star contactor.I see three leads from main contactor to motor and three leads from Delta contactor to motor...why not three leads from Star and three leads from delta?I am missing something. As Desi Arnaz would say....'splain!
Yes! What you are missing is a clear understanding of how to connect a motor in star or delta configuration. use this link : ua-cam.com/video/UnO4SIE4zxo/v-deo.html to get that clear, and take your time to carefully watch this video again. To clarify your other concern, the output connection from the delta contactor to the motor can equally be connected from the star contactor to the motor. that is electrically the same. it's just a matter of choice.
This video will also help .ua-cam.com/video/n6kSoGAj2vU/v-deo.html
Sir, please can we use one contactor to start a motor.
Yes, a direct-on-line starter uses just one contactor to start a motor.
Thank you sir, and which one is good for block factory
@@IsaacAgyare-y4x
That'll depend on the size of machines used at the factory.

@@IsaacAgyare-y4x one for Star one for Delta
But how come speed of motor does not change when delta kicks in
Ideally, the speed of a motor should not change significantly when switching from star to delta connection. This is because the motor's synchronous speed is determined by the number of poles and the line frequency, ua-cam.com/video/EkVsAChPwmA/v-deo.htmlsi=rzw9RszfCJAKkZal which remain constant regardless of the connection type.
However, there can be a slight increase in speed in some cases. Because Switching to delta connection increases the voltage across the windings, leading to higher torque.
The increased torque in delta can help overcome some of the friction and windage losses that are always present, even with no load. This can lead to a slight increase in speed, But It's important to note that this increase is usually minimal and might not be noticeable.
The primary purpose of switching from star to delta is to reduce starting current and improve efficiency during normal operation, not to control speed.
