I don't think Palpatine could be a jedi. In the novel darth plagueis palpatine is described as a psychopath and a sociopath, this is why palpatine is quite literally described as the dark in the dark side, a black void where nothing exists but the void. He was incapable of appreciating anything that did not benefit him directly, people were just tools in his rise to the mantle of the dark lord of the sith.
Yeah this video deeply is bringing the argument of nature vs nurture. I didn't realize till someone pointed it out but at it's heart that's true. While Palpatine was that in canon, this scenario takes what the Jedi did with students like Windu and uses it to create Palpatine into one of the Order's best... much like how Windu was one of the Order's best in canon
Even his own father pointed out that when he was swaddling him as an infant, Palpatine fought against him. He was the very embodiment the Darkside lusted after. When plagueis ordered the assassination of then Sen. Naboo (Kim) and close mentor of palpatine, Sidious didn’t even flinch. The aristocratic human male from Naboo was destined for the darkside.
Ki Adi Mundi was a sociopath too and he was a great Jedi, ASPD goes pretty well with the Jedi given the fact that they are not supposed to have emotional attachments.
Why is the idea of a Palpatine and windu duo so badass? I love it, just works so well. Wish they'd make some alternate universe comics like this, you love to see it. Especially that bit in Mos Eisley, that was beautiful. Got so excited hearing about all the characters, I think you did that part really well. Oh, but, very slight correction; form 7 is juyo, which darth maul uses. Vapaad is an evolution of juyo and an original art by mace, though I very much love and agree with the idea of Palpatine developing in this scenario. The only difference is that whilst both are combinations of all 6 of the other lightsaber forms, vapaad is mace's spin on it that specifically harnesses dark side energy to use and reflect against his opponents. Absolutely love the duo though!
One of my favorite videos because of that! Also yeah I got that one wrong lol, but I think Palpatine would’ve been the Vapaad creator like you said! :)
Amazing video! I’m so glad to finally see a ‘what if’ story about Palpatine that doesn’t just show him going down the dark path. So many fans forget what a complex character he really is, and that his horrible upbringing is big reason why he turned to the darkside.
A bit of an issue with this: Palpatine's connection to the Dark Side is inherent, and additionally he's a high-functioning psychopath. Jedi Palpatine would be fighting with his own nature his entire life if he doesn't just flat-out fall. Granted, he _could_ do it, but it would be an uphill battle. I don't think it would be as simple as just "he was raised a Jedi so he wouldn't fall", because that natural pull towards the dark would always be there, far more so than with Mace or Anakin.
@@matthewmann8969 Not to anywhere near the same level. Quinlan and Dooku had a pull towards it, sure, but not an innate talent like Palpy. The guy could use dark side based concealment techniques from a young age without any training.

I know you'll probably never reply to this, but i love that you ACTUALLY made palpatine stay a Jedi. I'm so sick of these other "what if palpatine was a jedi" that always turn into "what if palpatine became a sith lord through different means". As someone who studied psychology, not all people with ASPD are serial killers. Yes Palpatine was born with ASPD, but imo his serial killer tendancies grew from how he was raised. We know in the Darth Plaguies novel, palpatine's father always paid off people to keep palpatine out of any consequences for his actions, because he did not want house Palpatine to look bad. Palpatine never suffered any consequences for his actions his ENTIRE childhood and teen years. Even after murdering his whole family, he was really shaken up by what he had just done. I feel his point of no return was the night he killed his whole family. Then there's the treatment from his father who HATED palpatine from the moment his was born and tried to murder him as a baby. Palpatine grew to resent his father for various reasons but the main one being Palpatine wanted to get off naboo and forge his own path into what he saw as greatness, his father however wanted him to serve house palpatine on naboo. It's clear to me that palpatine needed a proper father figure/mentor and someone to hold him accountable when he did wrong. Yoda would be the perfect jedi to do that, and if he had been found as a baby, he would be raised with all the proper teachings. I even feel if palpatine had been found at the same age that Plaguies met him, there is still a chance Yoda could properly train him if they get to him before his point of no return. Now don't get me wrong, i still think Palpatine would be a very cynical person, but quite honestly the jedi needed some cynicism by the time of phantom menace, as corruption in the republic was rampant. Could Palpatine still turn to the darkside? Yes. But this is a "WHAT IF" story, what if stories are supposed to go against the grain, and i agree with you that the way palpatine was brought up, played a huge role in creating the monster we all know.
I agree. Every time I see a "Palpatine is found by the Jedi first but still later turns to the Dark Side anyway", I almost always hate it. It shows no imagination: "Hey, he just ended up going down the same path anyway. Sorry". It actually takes some writing talent to have this character who is so 'predestined' for ultimate evil, to actually REJECT that path and stick with it.
Yup. I agree with everybody here. I’m so sick of those “What if Palpatine chose a different way to turn to the dark side” stories, that I don’t even bother watching them anymore. I’m really glad to have found one that shows him staying in the Jedi order, and talks about how his bad upbringing effected him.
Yeah Palpatine could of been like Dexter Morgan in a way and to keep his sadistic tendencies in check he could take his rage and wrath out in video games or something rather then taking it out on actual beings unless the beings are true threats that cannot be reasoned with yeah.
This was amazing! I instantly recognized you mentioning Force Judgement as a result of our conversation yesterday! It’s so fitting that even as a Jedi, he becomes THE master.
Oh that's easy. Anakin would end up lying on a lava bed with his limbs severed and burning to ash. Hey, if Obi-Wan and Padme couldn't get through to him, Ahsoka sure as hell wouldn't.
I didn't even think or realize he had a first name. How did this escape me and the lore for decades until 2014 he was named in the novel Tarkin, written by James Luceno. It's so bizarre.
I could imagine if the starwars world was the opposite as if all the Jedi council was so happen to be all sith and that one last Jedi is in the council hiding lol doing order 66 on them.
My first reaction was that I didn't like that he didn't fall. But then I realized that I was making an argument in my head that goes against everything I believe, mainly that a person is born good or bad. I know in the SW world, people are always grasping for a Grey "middle-way," but I think that misses the point. Dark and light are not proxies for Evil and Good, but we make Evil and Good by dogmatically holding to that dualism. So yes, brava to Jedi Sheev, but I would have liked a more brooding existentialist philosopher Sheev that constantly rolled his eyes at the Boy Scout goodie two shoes that talked peace, but wouldn't lift a finger to end slavery. As Dr King rightfully pointed out the hypocrisy of the white liberal that prefers a Negative Peace to Positive Justice. Now that is something that can be related too. How can a person develop empathy without understanding the darkness?
Honestly, I’d say this would be a worse case scenario for the Jedi. Palpatine was a sociopathic monster even before he joined the Sith, I doubt he would do any good for the Jedi. Plus, it would mean we’d have Maul as the premiere Sith Lord of the era.
I can definitely see anakin becoming a powerful jedi if Counselor Palpatine was on the side of good and he became his master Please do a what if: Palpatine Was a Gray jedi and took over The Secret sect Of the jedi order called jedi assassins And combine them with the jedi sentinel order!💯😁😉👍
1:31 Oh look, it's Hide the Pain Carl! lol But what I really wanna know is what would compel the Plagueis to abandon the Rule of Two established by Darth Bane.
Vaapad isn't Form 7. It's a variation of Form 7. Vaapad is created by Mace Windu with Form 7, Juyo, as its base. Juyo itself is mainly practiced by the Sith as it is the most aggressive form of lightsaber combat.
Honestly, he could be the most dangerous Jedi who ever existed, not so much for his mere strength or swordsmanship (we have seen that he effectively masters the dark side and prefers a very fast and almost serpentine style, with reactive lunges), but for his cunning and ability to make long-term plans. If he, as a Sith, was able to deceive the Jedi ever since he became senator (therefore, for several years) and then chancellor, orchestrating a war on a galactic scale, where he manipulated both factions in the game and even had a plan B to get the better of the Jedi, or Order 66, imagining him deployed on the light side, but in possession of his subtlety and almost diabolical planning, would make him the worst enemy of any Sith.

Thank you so much! But I completely agree with what you have to say about this!!
So excited to see this, my man! When are you announcing the winner of the Ben Solo lightsaber?! 😁😁😁
I think you all are gonna enjoy this one! Winners are announced when we hit 10k subs!
This was amazing! I instantly recognized you mentioning Force Judgement as a result of our conversation yesterday! It’s so fitting that even as a Jedi, he becomes THE master.
@@wheattoast1971 thank you so much! And yup! And I loved having Palpatine become the ultimate power in the order lol
"Did you ever hear the Comedy of Count Dooku of Serenno?"
No
Pray tell us
@@ronrogers1729"It's not a story the Sith would allow you to hear."
What If Ashoka was on Mustafar with Anakin instead of Obi-Wan?!?!
Here's my rendition: ua-cam.com/video/zP_-wU2qWcE/v-deo.html
Oh that's easy. Anakin would end up lying on a lava bed with his limbs severed and burning to ash.
Hey, if Obi-Wan and Padme couldn't get through to him, Ahsoka sure as hell wouldn't.
I didn't even think or realize he had a first name. How did this escape me and the lore for decades until 2014 he was named in the novel Tarkin, written by James Luceno. It's so bizarre.
What if mace fell in love with Anakin Skywalker?
Mace windu falling in love Anakin, gay, that is.
Great- now I need a palps movie with Tom Hiddleston
This was an incredible what if mate, keep up the good work
Thank you so much!
What makes you think he wasn’t a Jedi at some point? That would make it even more interesting.
That'd be a really cool turn!
STAR WARS
Long time ago in a galaxy far away...
Palpatine becomes a Jedi.
The End.
So, if this is the "Mirror Universe" version of Sheev, he needs to have an Evil Spock Goatee.
congratulations on making a truly refreshing what if i was captivated till the end
Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed!
Can you do What if Obi Wan raised both Luke and Leia?
That'd be fun!
I could imagine if the starwars world was the opposite as if all the Jedi council was so happen to be all sith and that one last Jedi is in the council hiding lol doing order 66 on them.
Well, that is pretty insane. I am so shocked.
This was very good. Always thought it would be interesting if Palpatine was a Jedi.
This is a great response!
Honestly, I’d say this would be a worse case scenario for the Jedi. Palpatine was a sociopathic monster even before he joined the Sith, I doubt he would do any good for the Jedi. Plus, it would mean we’d have Maul as the premiere Sith Lord of the era.
I think this would make an awesome movie trilogy. Obviously not cannon but still. It would make a great what if series.
I really like this version.
Thank you so much!
@@PentePatrolStarWars you earned it!
DON'T DEW IT🤣🤣
This is hard for me picture, just as its hard to picture Dooku as a Jedi, which we know he started out as.
Ok but when do we actually get what if mace windu fell in love with anakin skywalker
what if Sheev Palpatine and Sidious were two different people!?!
What if Mace Windu fell in love with Anakin lmfao. Unironically, please do it lol.
If he does it then i have to hunt him down for heresy and TREASON
At least MACE didn’t fall out the WINDU in this timeline
I need this as a movie.
Same fam!
Hey, if you ever needed a voice actor, then I could help. I really like these fanfics and think they are very creative. Keep up the good work
Thank you, I'd be down! Also thank you so much!
That sounds weird Sheev, Windu and Anakin behaving like a family
dooku being older than palpatine is weeeiiird
Fun, Dooku was.
He was taught solely by the Darkside of the force and learn to use the force. And then he met Darth plagues.
Damned good show mate. This was top shelf
1:31 Oh look, it's Hide the Pain Carl! lol But what I really wanna know is what would compel the Plagueis to abandon the Rule of Two established by Darth Bane.
Vape ad is my favourite lightsaber form.
Best story of star wars I have everheard.
"Anakin I told you it would come to this! I was right! The sith are taking over!"
