All super great methods! I am shocked you haven't turned your fence into a trellis yet though! Every time I look at that I am just saying to myself, "boy if I had a fence like that it would be filled in no time!!!".
Hey Luke, vertical gardening is such great way to save space, isn't it? It's probably hard to tell the lay of the land from my videos, but I do actually have two of the cattle panel arch trellis's along most of my back fence. The side fences are on a steep hill, one of which has a stairway leading down to the garden, the other fence is lined with wildflowers. We do have some fence space left along the back, which we have been saving for a few video series that we are doing in late summer, early fall, so stay tuned for those! Thanks for watching!
Great growing vertically. Saves me so much space. Just got done 'twigging' my sugar snap peas that have just emerged from the soil. Thanks for inspiring others, Kim.
Hello Lark - love the idea of using natural resources for trellis too - such a beautiful look in the garden. Thanks for your kind words, and for stopping by to watch the video!
Really puts into perspective the possibilities of different trellises! :) Great video! we use string for our tomatoes attached to our greenhouse, wire for peas and wooden structures for our cucumbers. keep up with the amazing videos!
oh I was scratching my head for my bean plants. now I think I can do something. thanx
I actually made 2 this year after watching your previous episode and absolutely love it. Made it from left over fence owners had on the side of the dog house when I bought my house several years ago. I secured each with a 6' garden stake. My cost? Less than $5! Thanks for the idea!
Hello Cheryl - Perfect! Always good to repurpose - and save $$ and space at the same time. Thanks for watching!
your trellis supports are really great kim I have three trellis supports that are supporting my cucumbers and my watermelon and gourds and greenbeans and asparagus beans and also my cantaloupe
Kim..Flavio here. Love your ideas and implement best I can in limited space. Thanks.
I really like your custom tomato cage. They look like they are really good! :) Thanks for sharing :)
Great ideas Kim. I use a netting with my raised beds it's integrated with the gronomics cedar beds. But for container cukes I should use the cages.
Awesome tips Kim. Make the plants more neat and not spreading over the garden. Hope your staying cool while working in the garden. Wish you the best. :)
some super ideas there.
i use chicken fencing for cukes and some other climbing vines. it is cheap and will hold up cantaloupes even.
for tomatoes i make trellises from electrical conduit. 1/2 inch emt for the framing and use nylon string for the webbing. i space the lines about a foot apart with both horizontal and vertical runs of string and my frames are about 8 foot tall after sticking the ends in the ground. the emt is cheap and will last for many years. all you have to do is restring every year.
Thanks to you lovely lady ! you gave me the idea to make an arch for my clematis , out of the big wire mesh stuff, left over in the yard. Any way , its up tall around 8ft tall and goes from the pear tree , clematis x2 at the base across to the honeysuckle and climbing rose , oooo i cant wit to see it , not bad for a 70 old !! thank you xxxx
Great information and advice on differnt type of trellis in your garden !! Thanks for sharing
awesome Kim cause I'm trying to figure out what to do for my canteloupe plant. the ground is not up to par needs some work , so I'm growing in containers. thanks Kim for ur ideas. Also my dad has started his own lil garden. 😁😁
Somehow I keep coming back to your videos! Thank you!
you can't fool me
Thanks kim😂😁 . This is just what i needed. I had started some watermelons and they need support right now😅
Perfect! What method are you planning on using?
Great & much needed video🙌🏼🙌🏼
Very nice genious
Cute dog
That;s great, Where did you get those red round galvanize fire ring for your garden.
great video kim as always! Can you make a video about how to stake tomatoes? i dont have the time and space to put cage... can tomatoes grow big with stakes?
Hello - glad you like the video. I do have a video on how to stake tomatoes, ua-cam.com/video/GQlWGRZHNm8/v-deo.html. And yes, tomatoes certainly can grow big with stakes. It actually takes a bit more maintenance to stake, you have to tie them up every few days as they grow. But it's great way to save space if you don't have room for a cage. Let me know how it goes - thanks for watching!
Im in a lot of trouble. I've got about 3000 gourd plants coming up and no where for them to go--
Hi there, beautiful garden , may i ask where do you buy your eggplant 🍆 seed .

Did you have to make slings for the butternut squash that were hanging from the trellis? I saw you did a video making slings for the hanging watermelons and a butternut squash but would they be able to support themselves?
I will if I see stress on the vine- but Mother Nature is amazing! Thanks for watching!
