@@wcsdiaries I do, but it's switched on and off subject to occupancy, out to work etc. Dry boxes are small and consume similar amounts of electricity to a light bulb.
I just learned about these a few days ago. I'm outside Houston, TX and my Pentax camera gear just survived Hurricane Harvey. I got it out before the water entered my house. Houston is a high humidity area and tends to be very dusty too. We run the A/C 24/7 but that doesn't stop the dust. Thanks for the review of the 80L. It may be too big for my space but I think the smaller 50L will be more suitable.
You should get another humidity meter for an independent measurement to double check the humidity reading of the cabinet. I have read before that some of these things can be wildly inaccurate depending on the manufacturer.
I live in Florida. Its perfect. It stays in the vecinity of 45 humidity wth the cabinet. Like others said. Don't buy a big unit. I have a 30L and fits 6 lenses two dslrs and two flashers.
you can buy a dry BOX which comes with a portable battery powered humidity controller if not you can buy Silica Gel for your backpack hope this helps :)
The problem for me is I would need about 20 of those LOL! I have two systems CANON and FUJIFILM. I'm heavily invested with both. I ended up buying two big high-end guns safe. I'm more worried when leaving my house and my expensive gears just sitting around. So now I'm more relax and calm knowing all my gears are inside a bolted to the ground fire|waterproof heavy duty gun safe! Plus security cameras all around my house with a good home alarm system and some nosey neighbors that watch out for each other HAHA! 👍😉
D K this is what i bought ua-cam.com/video/4QGNAuG-mhU/v-deo.html . But its hard to find online.but when you upgrade your gear go for a dry cabinet.but dry box is way portable than this
Here in Singapore, where humidity levels can easily reach 80%, dry cabinets are common and definitely essential for camera equipment.
do you not have AC there?

Pretty cool. Live in Sacramento so don't think humidity is much of an issue, but it's a nice piece to take care of your camera gear, none the less.
Here in Miami, we have the A/C running 24/7 so humidity isn't a big issue but I appreciate these cabinets to keep my gear in a safe place.
The Ice Spider I live in Miami and just bought this too. What temp do you keep your cabinet on?
@@RyanAnthonyDigitalMedia It just has the room temp, not adjustable.
ikr doesent AC already do what these boxes do?

It looks like a 30-40L cabinet. Is it really 80L?
where you are located....u shouldn't be using one....in a dry area lower than 40 humidity will cause the rubber parts in your gears to crack.
Do I need one if the humidity level is between 42% to 44%. Thanks
Grabbed mine today. B&H had $80 off regular price so I picked up the 50L.
do I need to place it on a table or is on the ground ok? I just got this exact cabinet.
How to protect lenses when you are on a trip away from home in a humid country or place, then you cant take the safe with you. Any solution for that?

if u put slica gel on cabinet , can cabinet absorb moisture from silica gel?

Or instead of 20 of the small one, you can get a much bigger one. There are different size, you know.🙄🙄🙄
@@ruggieromanente4855 nah...I feel good knowing all my gears are in a gun safe 😊
@@lbcitylacounty4982 what about humidity?
or buy cheapest one, put out electronic, make your own cabinet, seal it, (any size) and put electronic in
Which is the best and portable dehumidifier for cameras like Nikon D7200 or any other?
D K just buy a dry box,i bought it for USD 40. it uses reuseable silica gel as dehumidifier.or if you wanna go super cheap build your own dry box.

Sir
Can we keep camera also in dry cabinet or only lenses
Camera too.
Any idea what the ideal temperature to store drones are?
45-55 is good
subscribed! and thanks for telling us about the book
But how does it works?
It regulates humidity and temperature inside the cabinet to user's settings.
Phoenix!
yes you can raise. it's called a wet sponge.
Dry area doesnt mean that its not humid.humidity depens on temparature
Um, that's exactly what dry means. Not wet...
@@bodkinsbestphotography Pretty sure he means that the humidity gauge for the cabinet will show the relative rather than absolute humidity.
how do you make a review without opening the fucking box
okay buddy. perhaps see a qualified doctor.
a review is not an unboxing....hoo boy....
A gear cabinet? 😂
