A lot of the great songs are Roger’s words but it’s David soul that brings them to life and makes them epic.
The spirit of an era is something to which, unfortunately, we can't go back. The fact that Gilmour is still with us, blessing us with his music and the sound of his guitar is perhaps one of the few last glimpses we have to a world full of sound and beauty. Forever and ever David Gilmour!

You are painfully and thankfully right my friend
Different era, different consciousness.
Dont be depressed my dear Mr Gilmour and the beauty he lifts from his guitar will never never fade,🎸🎶🎵🎶🎵📀🥰
Fortunately, anyone can get ahold of the video of Pink Floyd at Pompei and relive the experience, if only remotely. But a girlfriend, a bottle of some nice wine, some good weed and a good stereo will work as a substitute. Sometimes you have to help.
I was there at São Paulo with my son. Back then I was 54 and he was 25 y.o. We sang every lyric of every song from start to finish. I feel that this kind of thing will never happen again in the next generations. The power of rock music is unique, a power that can travel time and make such a strong bond between generations. So sad that all of this is fading away, giving place to a mass of one-hit "artists" helped by sampling, loops and autotune, that shine for one season to be forgotten forever. A bit of saudosism from an old guy? Maybe, but I think it´s true.

People crying while listening Gilmour guitar chords, and the ambient sound of sinthezisers. A perfect live sound, must be a magic moment
South Americans, Brazilians and Argentinians mainly, love the English Rock Bands, they've been listening their music all their lives and then, when a chance to watch a LIVE concert comes, they'll do anything to get a ticket, to see DAVID GILMOUR concerts is a DREAM come true.
how cool when one of the most famous musicians of all time can walk around the streets ordering hot dogs without getting mobbed. What a legend
A legendary old man eating many hot dogs. 🌭🌭🌭🌭🌭🌭🌭
I caught the tour at the end in 2016 at RAH in London. I had missed and missed shows over the years due to work, or whatever reason. It was so brilliant to finally see him and I ain't gonna lie, it was emotional for me, just like in those other folks faces. What I don't understand is that no other band/artist is like that for me. And I have seen them all. And I mean all of them. I hope I can see him one more time. He's my favorite artist, and his stuff will never not sound amazing. When he goes, there will never be anything like it again. He's the GOAT.
During this lockdown and isolation time for a lot of thoughts. I am so glad I had the chance to see the guy. Life is so short.
And for all those haters that say he sucks, or he's overrated, they don't know what the hell they are talking about.
it is because he touches your soul profoundly with his emotive playing and voice.
Gilmour IS the GOAT.
David has such a kind and peaceful vibe on top of his brilliance.
Surely his last tour. Sad I discovered David and Floyd too late to see him live.
Well, 2024 has a different answer!
David Gilmour is one of the most fascinating and beautiful people on earth ever! His gentle nature Is compelling!!
I love how happy David and Polly seem to be together
I still can't believe my friend, Stevie D, is playing drums for David Gilmour. He's living the dream. Well deserved.
Did you get to go to any shows as his guest?
@@Turk_2023 No, not yet. Funny enough, I found out Stevie was playing with David when I went to see the On An Island show in Los Angeles. I had good seats too. The lights go out. David Gilmour & the band plug in. All of a sudden I see Stevie D on drums. I rub my eyes. Yep, it's him. I immediately text our mutual friend James Raymond and he confirms what I'm seeing with my own eyes.
James & Stevie play with David Crosby. That's how Stevie met Gilmour. He was playing with Crosby/Nash at Royal Albert Hall. DG goes backstage after the show. The rest is history. Check our Croz's 8 Mile High video with his CPR band. Stevie has been a monster player for a long time.
@@VictorRochaGaming Some good playing in the vid I found, everyone was good.
Noting the riff between he and Waters , David still gives respect to him lyrically at the end he saya something so respectful to how he values the words that he sings. So , weather get along or not . He has the respect for the lyrics. And his playing, thats what made Floyd , what it truly is.
I was in Junior High and High School with Pink Floyd in small town Kansas. I first heard "Interstellar Overdrive" on Beaker Street with Clyde Clifford, KAAY Little Rock, Arkansas. And away I went with the Floyd until this very day! This is a great video, Thank you for putting it on the Tube.
This couldn’t be anymore fabulous! Enjoyed every single minute of it! David Gilmour is one beautiful man and so gifted. Love, love, love him...♥️🥰
Can you imagine being David Gilmour? What a life he's had. I wish I was that accomplished.
When and if this guy passes, because I swear he's immortal, it will be no doubt the saddest day in rock and roll history. During this lockdown, I've been looking for anything related to David Gilmour or Pink Floyd. I keep seeing remixes and remastered concerts and such, so I'm good for now. God Bless...

mr.b ...
I agree with you wholeheartedly I am 63 years old and have been a Pink Floyd fan for quite a few years I'm shocked to say how many anyway since since my hours got cut and I'm on unemployment do the covid-19 I was totally bored and picked up my husband's electric guitar now I'm hooked I first saw a Pink Floyd in early 80s in San Diego California I've been researching how to play guitar for beginners and bought a used Gibson replica I have been watching David Gilmour videos over and over again and realize that this man is a once-in-a-lifetime musical genius humble a lovely gentleman and am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to live in the same lifetime as him sorry for no punctuation but I'm talking into my phone have a lovely day
Luckily youtube decided to finally recommend this
A Genius like Gilmore getting nervous ! does he think people might not clap? I would walk a hundred miles to see him tune up ! And I WOULD clap!
More he's nervous that he won't deliver his intention in it's highest degree.
Awesome!! Me too!!
How brilliant is it that the audiences are made up of fans from every generation, from teenagers to Septuagarians, all reacting with equal enthusiasm. I can think of no other musician who would have such a wide following.
It makes me me quite emotional to see people of all ages weeping in these crowds. We will never see his like again, I really hope he does one more tour
he said he has some material left over from his last album, but he said if he was to go on tour again he would need to release a new album first.....
i travel few country for live concert and Love is always present when it's time to hear and see excellent artist . for anaybody who see great star live could stay at the scene at time 19:46
Music for the soul
I believe there are several more left in him
David Watkins every concert I have ever been to which is a lot (more than 25 ) has been a religious experience.
I was born in 1988 so I never had the chance to see him, even when Pink Floyd came to Barcelona in 1994 as my parents left me at home with my grandparents and they went to the gig, so 27 years after I had the chance and travelled abroad three times to see him (Verona, Rome and London's Royal Albert Hall). One of those times when you don't give a f about the money because you know it's a once in a lifetime experience. Amazing nights those three. Have seen Roger 4 times but I'm on David team.
In memorial Rick Wright!!!
David is a very eloquent man, with a lot of wisdom. What he says at 58:00 about the importance of being in the moment is so true. What moved me is the empathy he shows for his son (at 10:00) when he encourages him and asks him if he's happy. That's a beautiful moment. A world famous superstar and a good father at the same time.
David Gilmour, a gift from God, to humans, thank you for playing songs, which make our lives more joyful.
i enjoyed every moment of this i took my Grandson to see him at the Royal Albert Hall 2015 we will never forget that night
storm9154 certified awesome Grandpa A+
It is a great ROCKumentary about the GOD of guitar
Thank you David for making us more happy listening your music
I am so thankful for UA-cam. That we are able to see these amazing elder statesmen, that have just got better and better with the years, like fine wines. Thank you to them too for their perseverance! 🎸🎥🍾❤️ ps. and thank you Ryan - I do actually own the dvd set but seeing this on here just encourages me to watch more.
For who he is, Dave is the most humble and down to earth a man can be. Just a guy. THAT THE WHOLE FRIGGIN WORLD LOVES!!! He lives in us. True story.
In the 80s and 90s I was all for Roger Waters. As time went on I came to realize how important Dave Gilmour and Richard Wright were to Pink Floyd. I personally like On An Island as Dave’s best solo work. That particular album I would rank as high as Wish You we’re here. Rattle that lock is good too. Dave speaks through his guitar.
Darryl - right on man - On An Island is as hauntingly beautiful a piece as ever was.
It's Gilmour you twat!
Trinitarian thanks for the spell check. You do not need to be a prick about it!
@R. Guardia but the heart is always Lt Mr Syd Barrett.. ❤️❤️
It's just incredible to see this man today ... he was a part a faboulous band, The Pink Floyd ! and now, just a simple man who gives us so much emotions with insane musics ! Thank you Mister Gilmour ! ;)
His music makes me cry many times. He has such an amazing soul. On An Island is one of my go to albums when i need to relax or feelin emotional.
emotions of the audiences just make me cry man, truly happy faces
Been a fan since my dad got me the wall, thank you for the musik Pink Floyd, Gilmour ✌️🇸🇪
I love the music spirit of David Gilmour. I'm 70 now and I'm looking forward to something new from him. C`ya Gyani / Munich
David is a national treasure and well deserving of a knighthood not just for services to music but as a philanthropist as well. Who do I need to speak to?
The Queen for starters.
Roger Waters
I was in the Army, stationed in Germany in the late 80s. I had tickets to the show I Munich and couldn't go because my dumbass got in trouble and was restricted to post. One of my biggest regrets.
David Gilmour não fez show no Brasil, ele nos fez foi uma gentileza e nos presenteou com sua obra magnífica!!
See those people cry made me cry
One of the greatest band ever. Gilmore rocks
So glad I saw him live. What a privilege.
Been to Pula Croatia, beautiful place and full of friendly and beautiful people , cant wait to return, magical place
A masterclass. Amazing David Gilmour
7:41 that's me with the banner
I never seen David Gilmour live.... However, saw Roger Waters twice playing live, in Portugal! Cheers

David is probably the only man I've never met that I can express a true, and honest appreciation, and love for. He's a humble, Earthly sort creator that actually exists, in the form of a man...just guy, like me. I don't think he's a god, or have any infatuation with him, just a pure, real, live connection through music, and appreciation of his work that will say with me for the rest of our lives I'm sure. Although, if measured alone by our creation, he's up there, and certainly above, and beyond any of the bullshit god's in books, and lore lol. He's just one cool brother in music :D
i love the embrace that ppl showed david in south america thay were starved so much of good music from the uk
One more tour please David - pretty please.
Дэвид - супер
С нетерпением жду очередной альбом!
Здоровья!
i like to watch these docos from david gilmour because they show he is a normal guy like you and me
Some special music, bands came out of the UK in the 60's & 70's.
couldn't pick a better life for this lovely, gifted man who has given so much to the world thru his talent and philanthropy;
legend.
Smooth, sultry, guitarist extraordinaire, Hawt, Perfect...keep bringing You David.
THANK YOU FOR SHARRING THIS, I haven't any idea that it exists!! makes me come back to 2015 and remember one of the best concerts experiences of all my life! miss him so much
I enjoyed watching this very much . It's a joy to watch and the emotion that the music and scenery that were woven together with all sites and cities. Beautifully put together. And yes some foot tapping and head swaying . Thank you for this.
I saw Dave on this tour in Inglewood California at the Forum March 27, 2016. Best show of my entire life.
thank you Mr Gilmour for being the musical soul of an entire generation.
This was brilliant, just what i need in this challenging time, keep safe everyone out there 👍👍👍🙋♀️
Saw the entire group Pink Floyd New Orleans Superdome 1994 concert three and a half hours of nothing but Pink Floyd and Richard Wright rest in peace Richard you will be missed forever
I consider myself so lucky to have been there. It was a precious evening.
I could watch days of this stuff ..
Like a background tour of how a fine wine is made !
It's SO interesting to hear David and his wife's surprise(@ about 15:00) at the police motorcycle escort; he's an old hippie. But it's 45 years after the Hippie scare, and these days the honor of escorting a famous celebrity musician like Gilmour is considerable, and - as Paul Stanley noted in his biographical book - it's better to cooperate with them AND you get to the gig much easier with a police escort with flashing lights! And it's always cool to see David with Polly on the tour, making the traveling less dreadful. It's just really cool to watch this; Thanks for posting this.
amazing how a group of musicians can bring a smile to millions !!!
Genuine humble guy , but a legend ,glad I bin around to experience pink floyd and see this incredible musician , if I was a soldier I would salute you ,rock on Dave Gilmour .
Отлично сделанный документальний фильм о муз.туре Дэвида Гилмора!! Интересно! Очень люблю Дэвида и его музыку!❤❤❤
October 1987 a momentary lapse of reason Tampa Stadium Florida I will never forget it!
Having immersed myself in Pink Floyd for many a decade, I think I’ve seen the vast majority of videos of performances and interviews the band has given with the predominance of those interviews coming from Dave Gilmour and Roger Waters.
It’s hard not to come away from any interview that Dave Gilmour has given without thinking:-
‘That man is a real gentleman’... he’s thoughtful, intelligent, forgiving, extremely talented and refreshingly gracious.
As for Roger Waters?
He’s thoughtful, intelligent, talented, vindictive, narcissistic, exceedingly greedy and thoroughly unreasonable.
I don’t know if it was the fame, the money or just part of his character/personality that was responsible for his behaviour toward his bandmates that caused so much acrimony in years past.
Whatever the reason, my generation [and several others] have been blessed with their music but it’s hard not to like Dave Gilmour, Richard Wright and Nick Mason but oh so easy to condemn Roger Waters for all the animosity and ill-feeling the band experienced for far too many years.
Maybe it has to do with his contempt for all the injustices in the world, as he's quite outspoken on political matters. It can spill over.
Самый уважаемый мной и любимый человек.Мастерство его непревзойдённое.Нет ему равных.На 20 лет всегда впереди остальных.Здоровья и долгих лет!
Thank you Ryan. Such a gem.
Wow wow wow what a man he truley is to bring so much emotion to peoples lives and every single person you they have been touched by his music some way or another whether it be with pink floyd or on his own then is a blessing from god thats all i can when we get through this pandemic i really hope hd does some more music

AMAZING DAVID GILMOUR!!!! THANX FOUR THE MUSIC
He's a very fortunate fella. Enjoyed watching this.
now thats living a dream, who'd ever thought
The varied wardrobe of black T-shirts this man has.
THR they say a genius often sticks to a basic wardrobe. They have no patience to pick out a tee shirt. They have too much to accomplish in this world!
????Does his t-shirt play the guitar ???

Some music you drink slowly and savor. Some you pound those shots and slam them down. Some you try and puke. But most of the time you consume and digest happily.
Here's to you all...
Best concert i've ever Bern
