- 5. Loch Lomond
By Ronnie Browne, of The Corries, performed on The West Highland Way.
Taken from music DVD "Ronnie Browne - The West Highland Way In Four Seasons". Available from ScotDisc.
I just love the Corries, and I admire Ronnie for just getting on with performing, whilst remembering the good times he had with Roy, who would be so proud of him
Good on you, Ronnie. Pls. keep singing; millions of displaced Scots [of which I'm one] around the world count on you to keep the culture alive.
May God guard and keep you.
eine wunderbare wiedergabe dieses song´s, danke ronnie
reproducing this song's a wonderful, thanks ronnie
What a fabulous setting to go with an even more fabulous song and singer.
Great Ronnie. You were always the voice of the Corries. Bless you always
This is morbid and a waste of a brilliant song - stick to the ones you can definitely sing.
He DOES look very isolated, doesn't he? I enjoy his solo work, but there's a sense of loneliness and something...missing...in it. Understandable, since he'd been with Roy for nearly thirty years or something. Or maybe it's not him, maybe it's me not being able to see him as a solo performer; I keep waiting for Roy to walk into the shot.
still, he is looking so lonely on that rock...
The majority of people here who don't seem to have heard of Roy Williamson or know The Corries think this is a great song. Meanwhile those who have heard of The Corries think Ronnie Browne should have left it as Roy's to sing.
So I'm in the opinion that this song was fine on its own, and that you shouldn't let sentimentality be the judge. Roy's version will obviously be the best one but that doesn't mean Ronnie didn't do well.
CubingBookworm2312 _ I disagree why can’t the man sing any song he wants he could be doing it as a tribute to Roy maybe he wanted to record his own version of it?
Sorry, he should have left this one alone. It's Roy's song and this just sounds miserable.
Arkybark I totally agree - it is Roy's song
Hey stop that your the ones who’s not happy😢
Absolutley horrible, when sung as a sad song cutting out the gorgeous ghosty ending. How dare he. Everyone who thinks misery is beautiful is sick.
