God doesn’t change for peoples interpretations. If we don’t understand it we need to lay it at His feet and not change it or right books about it. Trinity comes from the Athanasian Creed. It’s so confusing!! Your brain will spin when you finish reading it. My God is not the author of Confusion. Be encouraged to READ the Bible & PRAY!! When I did I found out one MAJOR foundation…. I don’t pray to 3 of anything. That’s IDOLATRY. Old Testament says “Hear O Israel The LORD THY GOD IS ONE God…” Deuteronomy 6:4-9 THE ENTIRE OLD TESTAMENT IS GOD DEALING WITH ISREAL AND THEIR IDOLATRY SO WHY WOULD HE SET US UP TO PRAY TO 3?? It’s NOT THE GOD OF THE OLD TESTAMENT ❤ New Testament Jesus says “ If you’ve seen the Father you’ve seen me” John 14:7-11 7:24 JESUS IS ALL MAN AND ALL GOD AT THE SAME TIME. To be tempted and to have never sinned. The perfect lamb 🙌👏 JESUS hasn’t died yet. He shows his struggle as a man at the garden of gethsemane. He won’t glorify himself on this earth. The New Testament doesn’t actually start until Jesus dies on the cross. THEN a new covenant between man and God has begun. 😮The man Christ Jesus has died for our sins. Don’t pray to 3 gods. When you pray to Jesus you are praying to the Father. His spirit can now dwell in us and WE can now overcome the unthinkable and do mighty works in Jesus’ Name. When we get to heaven who will be on the throne? Not an old man and not a dove but JESUS’ resurrected body! Praise the Lord 🙌 I’m thankful for this Bible Recap on most things but when she gets into Trinity i have a voice to say I don’t agree.
Thank you for this reading plan and recap. I understand the New Testament better after reading the Old Testament with the intent of getting to know who God is. It's made such a difference in my faith. First time reading the whole Bible - I always gave up in the Old Testament but I stuck with it this time and I'm so glad I did.
““Yes,” said Jesus, “what sorrow also awaits you experts in religious law! For you crush people with unbearable religious demands, and you never lift a finger to ease the burden. What sorrow awaits you! For you build monuments for the prophets your own ancestors killed long ago.” Luke 11:46-47 NLT I love this verse so much, not just because it still hold true today, but that it shows that Jesus was a man of the people and wanted everyone in his kingdom not those who followed the harsh religious laws exactly. We are so fortunate to have such a loving and all inclusive God. I pray that I can be a medium for his unrestricted love and kingdom. God bless y’all today.
We are all sinners in need of a savior, Jesus sacrificed himself for us. My God shot too is the way he is teaching us how to pray. He is where the joy is.
There's no doubt that the gospel reveals the state of a person's heart. Either it convicts causing change, or it has no effect, which shows the hardness of one's heart. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees and lawyers about their behavior. They gave surface obedience but they did not care for the needs of others and they did not care about justice. True heart change should lead to repentance and change in behavior to honor the Lord. That is a good way to explain prayer. We pray to the Father, through the Son, and by the Spirit. Amen.
I have always struggled with “feeling” the same way about praying to the Father as to Jesus but this video and the John Piper article linked in the description has me rethinking that. Thanks TLC, as always, for helping me to evaluate my views against Scripture because I always want to submit to Scripture far above my own flawed thoughts and feelings.
Fish and snakes, eggs and scorpions (Lk 11:11-12): if God gives good gifts, then why do I have tragedy in my life? First, I have to be careful, because Jesus teaches us to pray that the Father’s name will be kept holy (Lk 11:2), and that His Will will be done. So my understanding of His character and goodness needs to be true to Who He is. So I need to contextualize the question: is Jesus talking about tragedy and misfortune in Lk 11:5-12? I don’t think so; Lk 11:5 says that He is teaching us about prayer and persistence in asking the Father for what we need. If I’m praying for wisdom and understanding and comfort in my grief, He wants me to keep asking and know that He gives good gifts. There are certainly many other places where the Bible deals with the problems of “when bad things happen to good people,” but I can’t say that God Himself has given me a snake or a scorpion. That’s not in His heart. “Ask, and you’ll receive. Seek and you will find,” and He answers with a yes when it’s within His will, and we’ll later see His purpose when what we ask for isn’t in His will.
Yes. No. Not yet! It's so much easier to comprehend the no or not yet once you're out of the thick of it... and sometimes, the yes is just to shut me up, I'm sure! He provides us with the littlest of things... how much greater is He when he provides for the big, life alterting things! Even in a season of waiting... for almost 20 years... I remain persistent in prayer, remembering that it's HIS perfect timing, not mine. He is trustworthy and worthy of our praise.
Aloha, praise the Lord, and good morning BR family. I love and trust my heavenly Father. Jesus said in 11:5, "Which of shall have a friend, and shall go unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves". May 1 or 2 if any will come to you recuse and open the door at midnight. However, our would. He said in 11:9, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you". He is where the JOY is!!!
Good morning bible Family ❤❤ and the TBR team and richness of The recap from TLC Have a blessed day in His Presence ❤️ 🤗🙏🙌🏾He is truly where the joy is 🤗
Signs don't soften hearts. Ive been thinking about that since she said it before. I must be simple, but just hearing Jesus speak to people would be my belief in Him, i guess because my heart is softened.
Jesus prayed (Matthew 11:1) and He is God. How much more should we pray? Jesus taught His disciples and us how to pray with The Lord's Prayer (Luke 11:2-4). May we, His people, be people of prayer.
Went to your store this morning and I’m looking for your book about the father and prayer short story only had a father for seven years I’m ready to learn more. Thanks for sharing this study of the Bible with us.
I want to testify to the power of prayer!! God listens to it all, grand or small. I also want to testify that prayer to our Holy God in the name of Jesus should not be taken lightly. So many times at the end of a prayer (even from a pastor) I hear only "amen" and it hurts my soul. We should definitely have conversation with Christ and The Spirit, but praying directly to them hits me very wrong. Throughout His word, there is structure and purpose. Prayer is no different. I love TBR!!! 😊❤
I love the concept of the father, and the part about approaching the father with boldness. The part I disagree with is the one about "basically begging" God and in the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples there is no begging at all. Persistence does not mean begging, a good father that not require begging when he has given us keys to the kingdom as children/heirs.
There is a brokenness we sometimes experience in prayer over situations close to our hearts that we see no human answer for. Maybe that's what TLC would call "begging".
Excellent point. We can be bold in speaking truth of God and the Bible. It is hard for me because it is not always received well. I pray that God guides me in when and how to speak to unbelievers about the relationship He seeks with us on the heart level. ❤️
Yes it is hard especially when it's an unbeliever and they are hard hearted. I pray now for God to give me wisdom and knowledge and understanding and to know when to speak and when to be quiet.
@@littlemonker_GT Absolutely, I struggle to know when to speak up and when not to. We can ask Him! God, give us the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. He is good and He will direct and guide us.
I've heard a theory that Jesus was Himself a pharisee. That He knew & had earthly authority as a fellow rabbinical scholar of their ilk (in addition to His obvious divine authority) to call them out. 🤷♀️
When we pray we are to ask forgiveness of our sins AND to forgive those who sin against us. We are told to pray for our enemies in Matthew 5:44. Jesus’ conception was holy, through the power of the Spirit. But she means that there’s no scriptural evidence that Mary’s entire life was without sin.
This is amazing about talking to the Father because I didn’t have a father who was like this! Thank you!!
This hit home as my father was not a good one. Reading the Old Testament taught me that GOD is the only father that I truly need.
I agree!
So happy for you. 💕🤗
He is father to the fatherless.
Amen ❤

Continuing to pray for Israel and for the innocent Palestinians trapped by Hamas.
God gives us what we need, when we need it, though we may not always realize it at the time.

Prayer and supplication. 💌

Also Jonah sacrificed his life to save others from the wrath of God and death didn’t keep him and Jesus fulfills this

Me too!
I’m confused about your comment on Mary being a sinner too. How could Jesus have been born through her if she was “impure” or a sinner? 🤷♀️
To be born human is to be born into sin. Yet He still didn't sin. Don't confuse mother Mary as being equal to God and Jesus.
How can Jesus, in the form of His Holy Spirit, live in us--sinners that we are?
@@lindawilson4117 Jesus paid the price of our sins. They do not hold power over Him.
