Getting rid of duckweed once and for all (oase crystalskim)

I finally decided to get the massive duck weed invasion under control. Starting with my 55gallon brilliant bristlenose pleco tank. I show how I set up the Oase Crystalskim, how NOT to do what I did and the correct efficient way lol. If you stay till the end of the video, I thank you very much! :)

Maybe not the most efficient way of getting rid of all that duckweed, but a very effective way of demonstrating the surface skimming power! 👍

First off I just want to say thank you for you review and video. I recently purchased the same product. And I’ve wanted a few video’s. Your video is the only video I’ve seen that show’s you how to efficiently use the tweezers to grab and pull up the sponge filter with cap. What a great video ❤

Nice trick, also you can try add some of the slowest goldfish to help. Ranchus, Bubble eye or celestial eye, they will go for the duckweed, and shrimps should be able to avoid them, they aré not very good swimers or hunters. Ofcourse they will end eating some of the shrimps too. But also the skimmer

if you garden , duckweed is just about the best plant to compost and use on your garden. it is also very nutritious as a food.
I intentionally add duckweed to every aquarium.

Would aquarium salt kill duck weed?

I'm unsure, but I wouldn't want aquarium salt to kill the plants that aren't duck weed
