Thank you sooooooo much, you just saved me from long time stress,my mechanic keep fixing it in wrong direction causing my bet to cut every time. This video made my day
It is a hydraulic tensioner, not a spring one. Therefore, you should be patient and give it a moment to shrink and release itself while you are pressing the wrench.
Good video, Peter! I have two stupid questions: Are there cars where the mechanic has to remove the motor to change the belt? Second: Could you not cut the old belt because it is going to be disposed anyway?
It is hard job Peter! No woman can do it, especially with the engine installed in the car! Your new long and thin 19mm and 17mm spanner is excellent but not necessary! Because, if we are strong like young Arnold Schwarzenegger, when he was 30 years old, then we only need the smaller spanner that you showed, or even no spanner at all!!!!
I don’t understand how Honda has the engineering prowess to design very successful F1 racing engines and also design this civic. Such a pain to do simple stuff. It’s like they let jr high kids design it for them?
Well that fuckin sucked. Had to use an old foot plate 2 foot pole from a satellite dish because I’m not 22 anymore 😂 2 inches of space for the tensioner too. Thanks Honda
When I see the engine out of the car, I can understand clearly where everything is. Good job! Good lesson!!
Great, this was my idea too. 👍

Yes, Real mans Job ! 😀👍
When replacing that inside the car, need to access also through the wheel side.. that should be done by 2 persons.
Thanks for comment 😀👍
@@PeterFinnTheCarDoctor you're great doing it alone
if you put the belt in a certain way one person could do it.
Size belt?
