I have watched this performance (there is another, full recording fo the aria) 10,000 times or more.... and it ACTUALLY grows in brilliance with every Re-experience. A master performer in every aspect of the word.
I was at Franco’s recital of Handel and Vinci arias in Birmingham Town Hall on 7th April 2019. At the end of a wonderful performance with Il Pomo d’Oro, he delighted us with this brilliant encore - sadly not in costume, needless to say.
