His voice is like honey being poured over the notes. It is sensuous, warm, sweet, and comforting all at once and brings the notes to life completely. Absolutely superb!!!
Handel is like the pop music of the baroque, I like this music so much :-) And Franco Fagioli is the Freddie Mercury of this music : great voice, great performer and a healthy portion of ego :-) :-)
He's so amazing. His interpretations are always touching and technically perfect. The voice is warm and unique. There is no one like him. And for this reason alone, comparisons that some people here allow themselves are prohibited.
If you are not watching the video, just listening the voice, its so difficult to discriminate who is singing - a man or a woman? A voice sounds like cello! You only feels and hear that it is great! Phenomena! The most beautiful countertenor voices I have ever heard! Bravo Franco Fagioli!
Do you know to Cecilia Bartoli? She's a mezzo-soprano. Franco Fagioli has a great great voice and interpretation, I'm his fan, but he has a lot Cecilia Bartoli's interpretation influence
So good to hear that Joyce's glorious voice is still perfection! Thank you, Joyce, for all the joy and amazement that you and your voice continue to give me!!😂
an outstanding performance to say the least. sincerely moved me to the verge of tears, and many fans can be getting spoiled by the quality of this! hahahahaha certainly glad to be alive and hearing! many thanks for uploading this!
Voix bartolesque.
The post doesn't tell us from which of Handel's operas this aria comes. It's from 'Ariodante', a marvelous work which La Scala staged (in a superb production at La Piccola Scala) back in 1981. I think that I must have seen and heard it at least five times. The title role, to which this aria belongs, was sung not by a countertenor, but by a wonderful contralto named Carolyn Watkinson.
- After a dark and baleful night the sun shines lovely all the more in the sky and the earth is filled with joy! (sorry for inaccuracies, english is not my mother tongue). I am sorry but I don't feel the deep relief after a horrifying night, I don't see the radiant, warm, bright sun in the high blue sky, nothing invokes the endless joy which fills the whole earth. I hear dexterity in the coloratura which sometimes tends to technical mannerisms, a nice voice. But musically he doesn't convince me. Even when I do not look on his grimacing and dancing (is it a reference to the film "Farinelli" or is it an informed reconstruction of the historical singing-acting? If so, does it help the music? I don't know...)
It's shocking how many comments of praise I had to read before anybody mentioned his jaw. I don't think I've ever seen a singer with som many tensions. 😬 Are people just pretending they don't see it?
Of the millions of clips on UA-cam, this is my absolute favorite. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched it and it’s electrifying every time.
I feel so lucky to live in a time where we can listen to and witness the finest countertenor to have come along in a century!
BRAVO !!!
Jubilatoire

Perfect description of his voice.
The most accourate depiction of Fagioli's style.

A superb performance from the greatest countertenor of the age. Franco surpasses them all.

The quality of his top notes, so rich!
This guy is PHENOMENAL. A neverending PLEASURE.
Fantastic voice and artistry, bravo Fagioli!
Just enchanting! I think he's my favorite counter-tenor out there.
High class! Absolutely stunning!Thanks!
This guy is literally a phenom. I've never heard a male voice that can sing like this (and I've heard lots of countertenors).
Superb

Franco Fagioli Dopo Notte.. Fenomenal!!...Sos un genio!
His is one great instrument. His hole Body is in resonance to his voice.Grandioso!!!🌺🥰💖
Yesss!
-emotion PUR....what a amazing perfect voice

Danke Franco Fagioli. Eine der schönsten Countertenor-Stimmen der Welt. Ich bin begeistert. Alles, was er singt, klingt einzigartig.
Wonderful, full of wonder. THANK YOU
Enorme artista ! Genial
absolutely amazing performance!
absolutely great!
BRAVO!!!
splendido!
Unique!! In category by himself!!
Amazing, but I wish the tempo was a little faster. I love this aria. Fagioli, you are great!!
In his record is faster
Sehr beeindruckender Mensch
Closed eyes he remembers me my dearest Cecilia Bartoli

David Steven Tabbat but was written for a castrato so countertenor somewhat more accurate casting than a woman contralto, don’t you think?
@@lesleywilbourne7823 It ain't necessarily so. Countertenors sing in falsetto; female contraltos sing with their natural voice.
como sai som desta criatura........
💖
Sounds a little like Jennifer Larmore?

He could be brilliant if he'd relax his jaw and move the sound forward-- out of the mask.
yeah what's going on with all of this jaw manipulation????????? what would happen if he didn't do that???

Too slow
I only wish he'd not dance the lambada on stage...
+BetuliaLiberata its not lambada, its spanian flamenco
Dance, Franco, dance, anything you like! You are a marvel.
So is Handel's music - danceable!
why not! dancing would underline this new dimension of interpretating the magic in handels music
Very slow 😴😴
Too slow
