Sorry if missed but how do you know the airbag works still ? Funny thing is you need horn to pass inspection but the most important safety feature in the truck doesnt even need to work ?
My friend had a surgery in his face from cancer and now he doesnt have any bone, its more dangerous for him to have to airbag. Is the only option to take that whole plate off or can i somehow take the airbag out but have the cover still over the steering wheel?
Hi; thank-you very much for posting this video...it is the only video that I could find that describes the removal and installation of an airbag for a 2005 F250. With the steering wheel and column intact, which 2 driver air bag module bolts need to be removed in order to remove the airbag? Is it the 2-torx bolts or the 2-hex head bolts? When I removed the cover plugs from behind the steering wheel, there are 2-hex head bolts straight in from the hole and off-centered from those two bolts are two more bolts that are torx heads- which look like if you try to remove them, they'll drop down into the steering column towards the lower column shroud. Any advice? Eventually I will need to remove the steering wheel to gain access to the clockspring.
Mine were the torque if I remember correctly. Just be careful and use a magnetic driver. Remember there may be a few things different on my 02 vs your 05
@@RoadHardRoadhouse Mind you, I have the Ford workshop manual for the '05 F250 series and the instructions for removing the air bag are vague..."remove the two driver air bag module bolts." Thanks for replying so quickly!
@@RoadHardRoadhouse Having slept on it over-night, It seemed logical that the two 8-mm hex head bolts vs the two torx bolts were the bolts that retained the air-bag module, since they were directly straight in from the cover plugs. Just giving you an update and offering my gratitude for your help. Peace brother...

If you get your airbag from a company you trust, or a person you trust then good, but if you are worried, I'm sure the dealer can check for you. Jeff
@@RoadHardRoadhouse Yeah, cost a bit im sure though, thanks man.

Take the whole thing out..they have aftermarket covers that you can put back on where all your horn etc works but doesn't have an airbag
@@RoadHardRoadhouse where would i look for one? Preferably a cheap one
For something like that I would have a trained professional unhook the airbag... cheap, effective.
Thank you for this video walkthrough.
Not a problem at all, glad I could help! Lots more videos on the f350 , and more to come. Subscribe if you feel like it. Appreciate your watching it.

No issues at all, I always try to reply asap. I've been in the shop asking questions myself...quicker the better

@@RoadHardRoadhouse thanks brother
I don't ever take the torch screws out. An 8mm and short extension has always worked great for me.
