Songkran 2019 The Final Day Always the Best Day - PATTAYA

- I have said many times I am not a fan of Songkran and the reason why is because in Pattaya it goes on for too long and the rules of not throwing water of 6:30pm are always ignored. It's virtually impossible to go out during the evenings to a restaurant without get water thrown on you. Many expats leave to save themselves getting in trouble and I don't blame them, if only the rules were adhered to it would I believe make the week long festival much more enjoyable. The good news I have seen many bars covering water bins during the evening to stop people throwing but you're always going to get those who don't play by the rules.
If you've never done a Songkran then you can't really complain until you have experienced it, but my advice is arrive for the final day it is such an amazing experience.

GREAT vlog! Very joyful and the Beach Road scenes in front of the bandstand reminded me of that dance scene in The Matrix Revolutions where all the people of Zion are dancing together rhythmically (and sensually)! Kudos!
I agree whole heartily, I did it once, not to be repeated, it goes on too long, not the same as the rest of Thailand which is 3 days or so I believe.
And OK Day time its part of the scene and should be expected, but if you are out at night dressed up, its the last thing you want.
100% my feelings.
If you are in pattaya during songkram just expect to get wet...I had loads of fun last year throwing water at all the party goers that were dressed up in walking street!

Thx for fun video...We were there a few days before, and enjoyed playing water on SOi 7 and 8... with MUCH less people. I prefer to avoid the final day myself...and yes.. some dont know when to stop! Also, dont spray directly in face/ears.. thats not fun for anyone..

Hi Nick another great video,always nice to see the main and last day of Songkran,it does get dragged out a bit over there in some places and Pattaya can be over a week,it’s a good laugh but you can have to much of it,be safe mate keep up the good work.
just back in the uk today songkran in pattaya was mad week i was staying soi buakhao , must have passed you inthe caos , sois 6 7 8 soi buakhao everyday

I had to fly home 2 years ago on the last day of songkran, midnight flight
Didn’t even think about the party’s that would be going on outside central pattaya
Had to get a motorbike to the motorway where a taxi was waiting for me!!
Had to pay double but got my flight , my big bag and me where soaked though
I only recommend doing the final day the full 7 to 9 is too much.
love Songkran, hate the run up, the day itself is brilliant, the best party you could wish for, done a few now, but next time I would love to go to maybe Udon Thani for a more traditional celebration

My advice is just arrive the day before and experience the final day the rest of it gets on your tits. I totally understand why people hate it and expats leave during this period. It was my first in 12 years I won't be doing it again but I will do the final day only.

Your the best video maker. At my age I swore that I was finished with Songkran a long time ago, but watching this I was jealous that I was not there.
Thank you Alan. My last Songkran was 12 years ago I too thought I was finished with it and especially since I heard they don't stop throwing at night. I did the opening day and the final day. It drags on over the days and at times it has got on my nerves but not as bad as I thought. My advice is to come in time for the final day it is amazing fun and you will appreciate it much more. 👍🙏
I know nothing about editing but I appreciate an easy to watch, thoroughly enjoyable vlog and they get better each time mate! Cant begin to think how long they take you to put together so I thank you, best on youtube at the moment I reckon!
Thank you mate. Well I got home at 6:30pm started editing and didn't finish until 4am. I was just too exhausted after a full day out playing water fights as well but sometimes so the video is relevant it needs to be up as soon as possible., 🙏😎❤️

What about the nightlife? Does the water stops atleast people can go in the clubs on walking street lol. Is there a certain time the water fighting stops? Will be there April 2020, cant wait
This is what annoys me about Songkran. Years ago it used to stop on sundown around 6:30pm but now they don't stop. This goes against culture tradition and the reason I won't be there for next years Songkran.
Just booked my flights and have my super soaker ordered from Amazon , Can't wait... buzzin.

Good job, but I think if I was an expat in Pattaya, I would choose April to visit the family and friends in my country. Later, in May, go back again to enjoy swimming pools, bars and girls.

Yeah but now I have an ear infection. 😢
Get a Qtip (small cotton swab on a "stick") dip into rubbing alcohol and swab your ear cannel all around (don't jab in for brains or to try and "play" the ear drum). Rubbing alcohol will dry out skin, ergo it will help pull the infection/moisture out. Worse case with this treatment is you do it too frequently and cause some skin flaking in your ear cannel (pushed out by normal ear wax). Anyhow just a personal long-time swimmer's cure. I do this even with the tingle of not feeling well and helps. Also helps to manage full head cold and limit ear infection/discomfort. Of course this is combined with a dose of rest / sleep... given the high quality of your video editing someone is stealing their sleep time for other activities! Get well soon so the fellow perverts can eventually get video fed another "Scooters" type video so we all can then suffer from eye strain!!! 555 ;-)

I used to always bath my ears in alcohol every few days to stop me getting infections because I was scuba diving every day.
I'm working on a pervy video (A Go Go) but it's only in the talking and smoothing it out stages. Fingers and legs crossed. 🙏🤞😉

I wasn't so patient later that night when someone fired water in my eyes at 10pm after asking them not to.

I do quite enjoy songkran in Pattaya for the last couple of days. Great atmosphere. Got to be careful of your beer though, get that dirty water in it can make you sick

Had 5 Songkran, no more for me.They never use to put ice in the water,& Pattaya its goes on toooo long. Best on was in Hua Hin ,3 days I think.

Just do the final 2 days. It was hot but I soaked all the way through to my bones so didn't really it.
Been over a few times for Songkran arriving for the last couple of days which was great did arrive once for the start in Pattaya and found it too much enjoy your party hope to see you soon 😀 😀
The last day is something everyone should do but I don't recommend the other days.

I bought the Go Pro 7 Black a couple weeks ago I'm very impressed. I bought the Hero 5 when it came out and sent it back I hated it so I was a bit reluctant to buy another but after watching reviews I took the plunge and I don't regret it.

beach road was absolutely manic, I only got there after sundown and it was bonkers... had a little chill on the beach and then off to bed, drinking all day in the hot sun soon tires you out

On my Facebook I said before there will be a million on the streets, I got ridiculed. The 20 lads I was with all agreed easily a million if you add in all the surrounding streets.

I was never a fan of Songkran because it went on for too many days in Pattaya, but I'd definitely rather have Songkran than see Pattaya as it is now, totally closed down and depressing.
I agree with you Nick i personally don't like Songkran as you have already stated,i did it once in Pattaya but never again.I like to take a shower on my own terms but there are those who love it ! each to their own i say enjoy!!!
I must admit I've had more words with certain people in the last couple of days than I have in 9 months. If you're walking to get food at 9pm and someone points a blaster in your face and you hold your hand up and say please don't, you should expect trouble. This is what happened to me last night and it nearly took my eyes out there was shock he was lying in the road. I just saw red mist.

I agree with many it's too much over 9 to 10 days but it's part of Pattaya's tradition and I'm not going to be a grumpy old fart.
It is Songkran Pattaya encouraged by the Thais but agree not the real Songkran.

Everyone does it there are Thais on motorbikes running around selling those chunks 80 baht a piece it's like a little industry. It's the shock factor funny to see people's faces.

The water is filthy. Would you drink it? Every year I would get either conjunctivitis an ear infection or a chest infection. Now I avoid songkran like the plague. It got old very quickly.
There was a rule saying no ice but like I say, Thais running around on motorbikes blatantly selling it.
