  • Simple way to decarb your Diesel engine by removing the throttle intake and spraying liqui moly in whilst the vehicle is running. Saves removing the entire top end of the engine apart for cleaning. 2014 ford ranger used.

    I just did mine, a 2014 jeep Grand Cherokee 3.0 diesel. I noticed a difference with the idle feels better already. Mine's got 170000kms. Well worth it, I could see a difference inside, cleaned it up nice.

    To decarbonize your engine intake use oven cleaner, which is the best such as something like Mr Muscle is the best solution by far. I do use liquid Moly only for fuel treatment additives

    When i take the intske hose off to throttle body then start the engine i cant rev it because the throttle body closes so csnt gdt that hose down there? Why is urs not closing is my throttle body faulty? Thanks

    An honest appraisal of the liquid moly cleaner. Looking at that you would have to use two or three can to clean it properly. I’ve just fitted a ryco catch can kit to my ranger at 50,000 km so hopefully it won’t get as bad.

    I have also used this product. While the solvent is very effective on Diesel carbon, using as per the label does not effectively clean. I use the spray to soften the carbon then use cleaning pads or cloths to wipe it out. Use a rifle bore cleaning rod to get further inside with cloth wrapped around it or fully dismantle as i did this weekend - use the solvent to clean egr - intake - parts ect

    • @mikeandmarks4x489
      @mikeandmarks4x489  3 роки тому +1

      How long did it take to fully dismantle? I like the gun bore cleaning idea!

    • @bitpri05
      @bitpri05 3 роки тому +1

      Mike and Mark's 4X4 it depends on the car i guess and how far you dismantle - for me i took out the egr - throttle body to enable a fairly easy access to the intake. Spray and wipe pretty much. For me maybe a 10 min dismantle

    • @mikeandmarks4x489
      @mikeandmarks4x489  3 роки тому +1

      Wow, I’ve heard of others taking off the head and it took a full day to remove/clean/replace!

    • @bitpri05
      @bitpri05 3 роки тому +1

      Mike and Mark's 4X4 sorry - not the whole intake manifold or heads. Just the throttle body and egr to access the back of the intake easier. From my experience the build up decreases progressively after the egr I expect that the ease or utility of this solution varies from car to car but for me works fine and certainly in contrast to the spray only option is a massive value add

      Lol that ford engineer is an idiot, yes diesel have been around for 100s of years, but not common rail diesels and diesels with egr’s, that what’s causing the intake to gunk up, the reason they’re so unreliable these days is because of the build up and it blocking the intake

    • @TheBobinn
      @TheBobinn 3 роки тому

      Catch can is great, the oil is what is making it stick so the build up is alot less, if you have an egr then consider having it deleted along with the particulate filter(if u can pass MOT without)
