@@mrfirestar9604 Very likely are, considering there's no one else they could be that resemble both Catherine and Heathcliff who are dead in this universe.
I like that the thing that broke Erlking was the possible future of Heaths and Catherines children. Something he would have deemed impossible was standing right in front him and he can't deny it.
@@Demonix_Heller nope. It's the ending from the actual novel. Heath had a child with Isabella and Catherine a child with Edgar, but the 2 still loved each other and were buried together. That's their children standing over their graves.
That isn't Heathcliff's actual child. That is his foster son, Hareton, who was Hindley's child put in his care after he became the owner of Wuthering Heights. So these two are Hareton and Cathy.
This surprised me because THATS THE TRUE ENDING TO WUTHERING HEIGHTS Even tho Hareton is Hindley's Son, he is spiritually connected to Heathcliff, im pretty sure our Heathcliff took inspiration from him aswell since hes uneducated but has Heart of gold deep down
The fact that in both Erlking's and this world seems to be the canon novels makes me think they're the same one, which connects it even better to the original novel since when og Heathcliff saw Hareton, who had a life full of abuse like he did, being happy with Cathy he realized that devoting his entire life for vengeance was entirely unnecesary, and that he could've been as happy as him if he simply just had moved on, and he just gave up on life when he realized that. Meanwhile, Erlking kinda did the same, as him being entirely convinced of his plan to kill all Heathcliffs made him ignore HIS own world, and just after his death he realizes that maybe things would've ended well if he didn't just think about vengeance, and moved on for once.
"The Hearts found each other, despite everything" Heathcliff WILL get her back. Of all these tragic timelines, hope still lives on. And he is walking the path.

What if the final battle of the game is all the sinners confronting what was their original goal for joining limbus, being reintroduced to the possibility and temptation of fulfilling their prior dream. The sinners would have to confront these untrue possibilities and come to terms with their own reality. Accepting that this is the way things are, the knowing. And maybe Dante confronting himself. Maybe Dante just wanted to go back in time to undo some great pain, but ended up distorting in a way where he can only reverse the time of others, never being able to undo his own pain, and left to only undo everyone else's as his own and the sinner's pain imparted to him swallows him up.
