And then she started practicing for the tour by jogging while singing. Like taking a high-end, top of the line CPU and then overclocking it and cooling it with liquid nitrogen.
Or for the even more nerdy, like Goku training with his weighted clothing or whatever With some sort of godly being from another plane

@@ZoeStibiVocalCoachno one, including her family and teachers, had any idea she could sing until she performed at her 8th grade talent show. She apparently blew them all away with her natural talent and unique voice. After that talent show, the choir teacher at her school asked her to join his advanced choir class. That seems to be the first time she had any formal vocal training. She then left school after 11th grade and didn’t have any individual vocal lessons until December 2023.
@@ZoeStibiVocalCoachActually, she didn’t. She and my daughter were friends in high school. They were in speech and debate together, but she wasn’t in choir. Didn’t start singing until she was 14. Go find her old stuff like “Bad Hurt”. Zero training at that point.
Chappell has one of the most exquisite yodel-flips I've ever heard in pop music - and she deploys it wonderfully in so many of her songs! :)

Between Coachella, GovBall (more for the look), and Fallon she's had so many moments where you think wow, this is her moment. And then she keeps having more moments. edit - and tiny desk of course!

With the costumes and outrageous looks it's so reminiscent of Gaga, it's truly a love letter to the drag and queer community. The fact that she is one of us and not just an Ally is the cherry on top.
I am so excited to have a new main pop girl with a voice full of depth and power! Softer singing is nice but everyone was starting to sound the same with the heady mix approach that has become popular.
Honestly I want so many more people to be exposed to what Chappell did here. This exact performance. This whole NPR Tiny Desk concert she did was one of her most impressive performances vocally I have seen of hers and one absolutely amazing vocal performance amongst all recording artists of today. I don’t particularly like how her voice was produced in her studio recordings, it almost took the strength away from her voice to give her a more poppy voice and the husk, the heft, the meatiness of her voice in this performance is what I personally think MADE HER SOUND UNIQUE.

If you have quibbles with "The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess," good luck with that. It's the most phenomenal album I've heard in a looooong time.
This. This performance is when I fell in love w her. Ill listen to her songs and not be that impressed but when I watch her perform I fall in love. Shes so good, shes so much better in live recordings which is very unique

I've been a Chappel fan for like 3 years now and I'm happy she's blowing up but it's also surreal??? I used to make people write her name down when I recommended her, I'd have to spell it out for them. Now she's everywhere!

You tell us everything you're thinking / feeling with your facial expressions, and then pause only where needed to discuss vocal technique. A lot of reaction videos are either too boring or too over-stimulating/distracting. Absolutely nailed that sweet spot!! 👏👏👏

Yeah, don't be, just enjoy. I'm an old rock n roll guy... just saw Dylan and Plant & Krauss this week, and last month Neil Young. But also last month I saw Chappell in Richmond. She performed all of "Midwest Princess," which is the start to finish the best album I've heard in a long time. Not a bit of filler on it. I've played it through over 100 times and won't be stopping any time soon.

You HAVE to listen to Good Luck, Babe! The end is incredible! She does sing it down a little bit live because it is quite high, but her performance on Fallon last night was top notch! You should also take a listen to some of her live concert performances, like Coachella and that! She has incredible breath control because she basically did her entire sets to a high cardio workout so she wouldn't pass out performing them.
Also, not trained! Only took professional vocal lessons at the end of last year!

I just saw the video from the boonaroo full set consert here on youtube and i am thrilled and joyfull over how she danced and bitched around and screamed her soul out and hit every tone,,,it was a amazing show
I have many favorites like My Kink is Karma and Casual, but as far as something completely different, Picture You.
Picture You is such a contrast to this song it's a very good idea for a follow up.

saw her back in october, she’s one of the few artists that seriously CRUSH it live and the songs are even better.
I believe she also sung this with an invisible retainer in!!! IT had the lipstick inside it for her lipstick teeth look. I mean... next level singing with that in!!!
As a singing student with Invisalign I always remove it because for me it’s so difficult to sing with it! ( I am a beginner)
singing chappells songs has SERIOUSLY helped me refine my vocals. her style is very similar to how I’ve always sang and it makes me so happy that her talent is being recognizes

ALL 14 SONGS on her debut album are wonderful. As are her two new songs since its release. I go to a lot of concerts Chappell's May 23rd was just crazy fun. As was witnessing an army of pink pony girls (Chappell assigns audience dress-up themes for each show) descend on downtown Richmond and pack the island venue.

My Kink Is Karma isn't part of this Tiny Desk concert, but is so fun! There's a line leading into the chorus she speaks/sings, then jumps an octave into falsetto for the last word of the lyrics. She makes it sound so effortless, I didn't realize how insane it is until my 3rd or 4th listen.

As someone who's been a Chappell fan for 2 years, seeing her blow up these last 6 months has been so incredible. I first saw her at a venue with 525 audience capacity and she was INCREDIBLE. Seeing these types of videos and getting to see her at Boston Calling music fest this spring make me wanna cry every time because I'm so proud of her lol
