Really good to know that there really isn't much difference - sailed QG on QM2 to NYC, but downgrading slightly to PG for QA for Norway this summer; yes the PG rooms on QA are a bigger difference to QG than on QM2, but most of the time we shouldn't be in the cabins...
Ooh, I'm really hoping to get onto Queen Anne so that I can see the difference!! From my experience I think you'll still really enjoy the PG too...they just don't have the Dover Sole in the PG restaurant...
Great video. I think when considering the value of PG or QG you also have to look at the inclusions in the corresponding cabins. Apart from bigger and nicer cabins in QG there are also more inclusive drinks too. I like all Cunard grades though as have found good in Britannia really good too.
Yes you are quite right about the different inclusions in QG making it better vfm potentially…I also had a fab family holiday in Britannia and I put my kids in an inside cabin… everyone was very happy!
You normally can't! We were only meant to eat in the Princess Grill, but I went with my sister and asked VERY sweetly if we could PLEASE try the Queen's Grill for just one night (I told them a true, emotional story about my parents who used to eat there and loved it) and they very nicely allowed us to have one dinner there. I think we got VERY lucky.
So pleased you enjoyed this video Bjorn. I always think that these kind of videos are a great way to enjoy food without putting on any weight!! Unfortunately it was me that was eating EVERYTHING!! It was worth it though and it's true, it DIDN'T feel like being on a ship. Just like being in a top notch restaurant on land...😀😀😀
Loved your video. I can't afford the Grills so always go to the Britannia Restaurant but have found that the service, in all areas of QM2, is truly excellent no matter where you eat.
So pleased you enjoyed my video. The Britannia is a BEAUTIFUL restaurant. Please god I get to sail on the QM2 again than I will definitely want to dine there too!!! it is an excellent ship, you are RIGHT!
I have a question for you. I'm planning to take my 20 year old university-attending Godson and his roommate on the QM2 to England. Which dining venue should I book? By myself, I'd book the Princess Grill, but maybe for "the guys", Brittania or Brittania Club might work better. What do YOU think??
Hi Stuart, SO, normally you can ONLY eat in the Queen's Grill restaurant if you stay in a Queen's Grill suite. And you can ONLY eat in the Princess Grill if you are staying in a Princess Grill suite. I was staying in a Princess Grill suite (so I was only really allowed to eat in the Princess Grill restaurant) but I asked very nicely if I could try the Queen's Grill one night, and they very nicely said yes. It is not to be relied upon. As a Queen's Grill or Princess Grill suite guest you can also dine in Brittania if you wish, though I didn't. That said, the Brittania dining room is STUNNING and much more buzzing. All guests (whatever cabin they're staying in) can dine in the Britannia restaurant. What cabin have you booked or are you thinking of booking? That will determine which restaurants you are allowed to eat in. There are other specialty restaurants that you could dine in (at least one which is a grill) but you have to pay extra and I didn't try it.
Sorry, I'm not overly impressed. Don't misunderstand me, it all looked fantastic, especially that murderous cheese plate. But I can do almost all of that at home, (or on my 5.5* favorite small cruise line), without incurring a five figure bill on my credit card. Still, I'm looking forward to my steerage passage on the QMII next March.
Hey Jo! Not sure what happened......AGAIN!!! I was the first to like and post on this video, and then it was gone! Anyway, another great video and I thought both restaurants looked amazing! Awesome as always!!! Stay safe and in touch my friend!!! HAPPY TRAVELING!!! XXX
Hello Joe! Lovely to hear from you and how weird that UA-cam is doing that to you. Now that you mention it, I could see a message had been posted on my video, but when I went to check out that message it wasn't there!! Thank you for re-posting it!! Both restaurants were delicious, but I better be careful so that I can fit into 'that' dress and 'those' shorts!!! Yikes!!! XXX
What a cheek, asking for upgrade to Queens grill. The way you stuff the food in, I would recommend the buffet. Hope I don't see you on my transatlantic trips.
Wow Jo, I decided not to watch your videos on empty stomach.....great food,,,,how do you manage to stay skinny with all these dishes...enjoy....happy traveling
Very good idea to not watch this video on an empty stomach lol! I do eat a LOT in these videos - it is alarming when I look back at it. To counteract it I do LOTS of exercise and rarely snack between meals!! That's the only way...
What an outstanding restaurant comparison ! Thank you so much and happy travels to you ! CHEERS !
So pleased you liked the video!

Looks divine Jo . Both restaurants were outstanding . Thank you for sharing .
Thank you so much David - if only I was still there having such delicious food prepared (and cleared up!) for me!!! It was a real treat...😃
Great video Jo, really enjoyed it. Very good commentary, and thoughts ! We too were on the QM2 recently, filming. It's a glorious, enigmatic ship!
It IS a great ship - the two-day cruise was a great taster. Problem is, I now want MORE!!! Where did you sail?
@@gowithjo1 ha ha, I can imagine! We joined in the Coronation Cruise. That was lovely
@@ritzytravelguide oh wow - you were lucky to get on - it sold out in 30 minutes apparently!!

Looking forward to more videos!
Best wishes from Bjørn.

Nice video but I can’t get over the red wine with fish? Kidding 😅

I liked the cooking show and presentation, but I wouldn't eat any of those foods. I'm a basic traditional foodie. Don't like anything fish.
