- MkLeo is known in the smash world for many things. He's the best Joker player in the world, he's the GOAT, and fittingly enough, he's stolen the hearts of audiences all across the world. But there's something else MkLeo is known for in the smash community: being a multi-character specialist. Of course, Joker will always be MkLeo's most famous choice, but he's gone through quite the rotation of characters during his time competing in Smash Ultimate. How many, exactly? Well, today, we'll be taking an in-depth look at that exact question to find Every Character MkLeo has EVER Used.

Rister you’re aware people wont get mad from you saying samsora or nairo right? It’s really awkward to go from saying “Armada and ESAM” to just “peach”. Samsora was a top 5 player you can’t erase that even if he was cancelled. It’s part of smash history.
It’s really awkward to show footage of nairo and samsora and skate around their names as if their faces and tags aren’t right there.

@@RisterMice love this video!! This is honestly what I've wanted more from ultimate content. While tournament recaps and more standard gameplay content is okay here and there, these more broad concepts are amazing and very similar to what melee/brawl now has got content

Good video! But missed opportunity to not end it with a LIST of all the characters at the end, along with stats like number of games played as well as win rate.

Some fun facts about some characters of MKLeo :
- On Ultimate Summit , he pulled the Greninja against Mang0 on Game 2 and Game 3. The main reason is because nobody was there to practice with Mang0 but MKLeo was pretty homie and grind with Mang0 for 4-6 hours straight. It was mainly against his Lucina , and Mang0 on game 1 was last stock against MKLeo so Leo switch to a character that Mang0 did not practice against lol. Also Mang0´s Wario MU help MKLeo to beat Gluttony with Lucina lol . (GOAT recognize GOAT)
- Genesis 9 was the first tournament his Joker won , this is because Genesis 6 was with Ike and Lucina , Genesis 8 was with his Byleth , and Genesis 7 he lost at Grands against Marss. Also on that tournament (Genesis 9), the ROB bailed MKLeo out against Min Min and help him clutch out the set 3-2
- There was a local tournament MKLeo went after EVO and Smash Con where he pulled out the Chrom and went solo Chrom , and won it lmao

Honestly though. Genghis Kahn did some hideous things, but we don't shy away from acknowledging his accomplishments. Pretty sure Nairo and Samsora weren't THAT evil. Seems a bit weird to attempt to just... erase them from smash history, no?
Like, ban them if we want to, but a win on a player that skilled is still impressive. It shouldn't be just shoved under the rug, imo.
Byleth's Leo was insane
it is necessary to say that Lucina and Marth appeared in LMMM 2023 where both lost against Kurama, being this the last appearance of Marth, and with Corrin something similar happened since in GOML 2023 Leo tried to use her against Sonix but after losing game 1 he changed to Aegis, this being the last time he used Corrin

Yeah, she basically covers most of his bad matchups.
He said on his Twitch stream a few times that he just didn't enjoy playing her anymore, which is a pretty good reason. Even if she would garner him better results, there's no point in playing a character that you're not having fun piloting.
He's very adamant about not enjoying how she plays.
He dropped her after losing to Maister for the first time in his life
@@zerotwo8047 People keep going with this, but its just not true. He used it against Protobanham at Double Down after that and didnt use her for a good while before pulling it out against Sonix a couple times after that. Bro just prefers playing Aegis to Corrin.
Small note: Leo did actually beat Sonix with Samus. In Flat Realm 6, an online tournament, he beat Sonix in game 5 of grands then 3-0 in the reset, timing him out to finish it.
Correction: Leo also used Ike at Pound 2019 against Salem and lost

Btw Leo has taken 2 sets (at least) off of Sonix with Samus. Look up Flat Realm #6. Idk why it isn't showing up on Smashdata.
A shame Leo doesn't enjoy playing Corrin. She's so good in this meta and she actually got Leo some big wins. Oh well to that one.
Marth is a character he actually enjoys but despite playing really well against top players (and taking set wins with him) Leo doesn't want to push Marth because "he bad"... which sucks because Leo was actually getting the results with the Marth/Joker duo. (Then he got bodied by Kurama even WITH Lucina so I doubt he will ever touch Marcina again).
Cloud was just a phase I assume. Meta Knight is... sort of back? But I doubt it'll last long. Roy and ROB are anomalies LOL.
Aegis got nothing but hate, but I will admit she got Leo some decent wins. If he really wants to make her work I know he can, despite people hating her.
You know people and I agree that his multi-character nature is one of his weaknesses but I totally LOVE IT. It's just so awesome to see that each character had a purpose of him playing in the bracket!

I would love to see more of Leo's Corrin and Metaknight. Also, honestly I think Leo's Samus would be a menace if he practiced her more.

Didn't MKLeo use Marth against Shuton at the Scuffed World Tour in 2022?
I like to think of the sword archetype as a toolbox, so it makes sense he dabbles in most all of them. Even Mewtwo, who isn't considered a swordie but has many sword-like qualities in his normals.

What I love about MkLeo is that he only play swordies, I'm a huge sword and knight lover.
I miss his Byleth the most, she's just the coolest looking character with the coolest moveset. But him dropping Byleth was bound to happen as Joker is simply better and more intuitive

I just wish he enjoyed corrin. It would help with the common mus hes losing as joker with Sonic, Wario , and Mario. Aegis can do it but he tends to get cheesed so randomly as her more than anyone else
I'm pretty sure the samus counterpick worked on sonix once at flat realm 7 or 9 I forget exactly which one it was. It was a maister run online event series

Leo actually did use Wario at 2GG Kickoff: Kongo Saga. In Winners Semis, Leo and Gluto swapped mains for Game 1 and then afterwards they went back to their mains, and they did not do this in Grand Finals either. Gluto played Purple Joker and Leo played Red Plumber Wario

if he just stayted on joker even through the wifi phase he would prolly still be #1, but he would also be burnt tf out because the fact that he switches characters so much means he prolly doesnt find it fun to only play one character
Wifi Joker is completely different to Offline Joker unfortunately; plays WAY worse online and it prob just sucked the enjoyment out of him for awhile. Hence trying out Byleth.

Corrin covers all his bad match ups save for Min Min which honestly Joker does fine against. He just needs to learn the match up.
Corrin is the last time he beat Sonix and Gluto. He destroyed Sparg0 with Corrin as well.
If he seriously hates playing Corrin then might as well bring back Byleth and Lucina to be the back ups to Joker.
Btw Leo just used Byleth in Taiwan pre local this week. Be interesting to see if he continues tonight as the Taiwan tournament starts 10pm eastern.
Leo used Byleth (and MK in grands) at the pre-pre-local. Leo went full MK about 12 hours ago at the single elim pre-local.

My favorite (non-joker) character from leo is his Byleth but sadly it doesnt have a place nowadays. It worked back then because leo was miles ahead of everyone else.
Nowadays his Joker is special but every secondary is kind of lacking. The characters / players he still needs to find an answer to are gluto, tweek ,sonix, kazuya, pikachu and min-min otherwise it might be hard to break into the top 5 again
i always thought leo would keep the greninja since he was cooking people online but he never did

That's basically all Leo's characters, sparg0 tends to copy Leo in a lot of ways. sparg0 picked up byleth when he saw what leo was doing with them, then corrin, and now roy, and he started making his gamer tag's kpop inspired as well.

You think so?… Leo has like 40 major tournament wins and like half of those are premier tier… those are like melee players stats like Hbox and Mang0 types that being playing the game for over a decade

Considering Miya already has 7 majors this year compared to Leo’s 1, the only thing that can rly stop Miya from Leo is smash 6 coming out so no more ult majors
