I'm so extremely happy you heard this and loved it as much as me. I remember a long time ago I requested an album called Wish Upon A Blackstar by Celldweller. It's sort of like heavier electronic mixed with rock. You may like it if you're getting into electronic stuff
So I heard San Holo start after the last song ended... let's get a San Holo - Album 1 review. I personally feel like San Holo and Porter Robinson are 2 sides of the same coin musically. And I feel like you'd enjoy it.
@@JakeOfAllTrades25 This not getting nominated and Porter not winning the Grammy for his Virtual Self nomination are such BS it's unbelievable. I never really care about awards for music or movies or whatever but I really really wish Porter got the recognition he so dearly deserves. This album, especially as a result of his 6-7 year journey making it and his struggle to create music after Worlds, is such a deeply personal and touching album that works so well and every song fits the sound of the world it's in perfectly.
What’s crazy is that while this album is in it of itself amazing, SEEING THE LIVE SHOW IS ANOTHER FUCKING VIBE. Every element is elevated and flows in and out of remix’s. Nothing is untouched, everything vibes, he throws in the best of his past work and makes it fit the nurture sound, and it’s legit a spiritual experience. Cried a couple times during it.
For sure, I need to see him live, watching the Second Sky concert made me so happy and convinced me I need to see him live next year no matter the cost
I hope Porter tours again in the US I went to the Philly show and it was pure magic cause I listened to this album and worlds non stop I also cried a couple times I was really sad when it was over
i'm seeing nurture live in july!!! i can't fucking wait, i already cry listening to the songs on here normally but i can't wait to sing along with a crowd and just experience my therapy album live
this album means so much to me man. so fucking holy, legitimately helped in the healing of my mental health over covid. the themes porter explores here are so beautiful and the messages of forgiveness and growth on this project are really pertinent during this time where we're all really dealing with some hard shit
Porter Robinson's music really hits the soul... its almost hard to explain. but it changed my life. Seeing it in concert was an unforgettable experience
worlds to me is like a teenager going through tough times and feeling all kinds of highs and lows. nurture is like you finally grew up and made peace within yourself, and now everything is okay. i love it so much.
Worlds is an album about Escapism and Fiction. And Nurture feels like someone who has just gone to accept reality and begin to love life in the simplest of ways.
This flew way under my radar dude Porter is one of my favorite artists Nurture really is such a phenomenal album; I think what killed me about Wind Tempos and Dullscythe is they really seemed to illustrate that gnawing/self doubt inducing process of trying to find the right ideas, clicking through settings and samples for hours or days and nothing quite working…Even though I barely listen to those two in passing, they hella tipped the needle for me coming from Porter’s older EDM stuff (which is also phenomenal but I only recommend if you’re into like VERY much edm) to this So glad you enjoyed it and I endorse the chat comments that mentioned Nurture Live - dude goes crazy on live productions
Gave musician a 10, all is right in the world. My favorite song on the album, your favorite song on the album, porter robinson's favorite song on the album,
This album makes you love and appreciate life. One of the best album experiences I have ever had. Seeing Mother and Blossom live back to back made me cry harder than I ever have. This album is pure magic.
I've heard albums this year that are more consistent than this one where I love a greater % of the tracks on the albums, albums I have an easier time suggesting to anyone (Black Country, New Road or A Beginner's Mind for example)... but I knew almost immediately this was my *favourite* album of the year and its not even really that close. Just head over heels in love with this album, its so sincere and heartfelt
I was in the top .1% of his listeners on Spotify so I can say I am blinded by love for his music, but this album is one of the few 10/10s I have ever listened to. So beautiful. Also Lifelike is my morning alarm, it's perfect for that, not too harsh, but wakes you up 😂 side note, this somehow didn't get a Grammy nod for EDM/Dance even though there were 10 noms. Also Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Ti-Do was my fav, being high to that song is magical
@@ryanreed5113 Oh for sure, honestly this album in general high is a completely different experience. Especially dullscythe because then I start really analyzing everything
Seeing Porter perform this live Day 1 of Second Sky, first time playing it live, at the end of my first festival experience seeing some of my favorite artists and discovering new ones, right after Good Faith Live, was such an experience for me. I have wanted to see Porter since I found his music 6 years ago that I discovered and met my best friend by talking to him about this album. I have wanted to see him live for 6 years and never got a chance to go til this year's Second Sky. I really am not an emotional person, like at all, but this set made me tear up literally 8 times. Honestly even the first second he stepped on stage I teared about because I thought to myself "I finally am here seeing him live, perform one of my favorite albums of all time with a person I love." Such an amazing mix of hype music / live remixes of these songs along with slower emotional parts. Porter literally choked up and cried on stage during Mother on Day 1 and it was very moving to see how much everything he does means to him. I hope to god I can see Porter perform Nurture Live again, and I truly can't wait to hear what music he creates next.
ive always interpreted dullscythe as porter trying to demonstrate what his creative block between worlds and nurture felt like, where its a massive mess sounding random and random sounds coming in and out until it slowly builds itself together into something pretty at the end representing him breaking that block
this album is one of those that sound better which each listen. i listened to “look at the sky” and started tearing up lol, the whole covid period has been extremely difficult and mentally deteriorating to me and just hearing “i’ll be alive next year” was what i needed more than anything, it really picks me up and helps me keep on going.
DAISHORYUJIN 95 that sounds so nice man. All I can think about after coming back to this album is how satisfying it would be blasting the vinyl on an rainy day in my garden or listing to it while on a picnic with yourself :)
I saw Porter do his Nurture Live show at his festival Second Sky. I was constantly sobbing, it is one of the most blissful, magical, life changing experiences I've ever experienced. One of the most incredible things that I will never take for granted.
It’s disappointing that the Grammy’s didn’t put this as a nominee this year for best electronic/dance album. No hate to the nominees for the category, but I’m pretty sure Porter takes the cake for this year in my opinion.
I guess it is cause Porter doesn't describe his music as EDM anymore. This album is an absolute masterpiece for us and you should cherish it yourself and make it special ♥️
It is a really distant album from other dance artists, to the point it’s hardly an EDM record, rather a beautiful, magical pop record with strong EDM influences.
As a big fan of Porter Robinson before this album came out. The release of this was a huge win and it is my most listened to album ever last in total 140hpurs actively listened to this. Crazy thing is its still magical listening to it on this video.
As an casual EDM listener, I've only been really impressed by two particular albums in the last years, one of them is this and the other one is Good Faith by Madeon. Sorry for the mistakes on the grammar, I'm not a native speaker.
I listened to Unfold for the first time while walking home from work on a lovely day on the day it dropped. There was a slight breeze in the air and I felt like I was floating. I went on to go to the last two Second Skys and each song grew further on me as I heard it live. Blossom and Sweet Time were written for his now-fiance and the man had to stop in the middle because he was so caught up in emotions about his then-GF that he mixed up the lyrics. It was the sweetest thing ever. They grew on me so much after that. They're just put together with such love.
It made me so happy to see someone react to this album the same way I did, with it being one of my favorites ever, it gave me so much joy and made me feel like I was listening to it for the first time again
Hope your doing good Brad. Ik ur kind of taking a break from music, but whenever u get back to it more, Torches by FTP is an awesome album to listen to, just my ever so humble recommendation. Keep up everything your doing bro, I'm supporting u all the way

I am rewatching this a later after watching it the first time around when it came out and I gotta say that the contrast between this guys community and Fantanos community when listening to Porter music (or music in general they don't like) is so polar opposite.
