I went to church with Don when we were both new in USA. Church was in New York though we were living in NJ. So proud of the man you have become. You have a beautiful family (beautiful wife and children). I have never heard anyone point out at the truth about people like you just did at min 46. Question? How can I move to Kenya to find someone with same qualities? 😂🤣 This Is a beautiful story. He and his wife built a foundation from the ground & brought 2 lovely children into the world. Strangely; it's like they were made for each other & meant to be together. The fact God told the wife to write constant letters to encourage Mr. Otieno amazes me. Relationship was divinely connected by God...😍🙏😇
I loved this interview Lynn...it was such a vibe this guy is a man from another planet....if all marriages were like his and especially that of his parents, then it could be the best thing to do. Thanks Lynn for this wonderful episode.
Someone felt jealous of this humble man.His arrest and deportation was purely a set up by most likely a fellow Kenyan who knew well his visa had expired. It's very hard for the immigration to come after you unless you are involved in any offence that can expose your status.
Yes God had set him up for success kibao, home is home 💯 not sure why people thing sending one home is punishment , what was meant for his distraction built him up
"My ambitions is to change people's lives by covering such stories @Lynn . " Powerful statement. You are already doing that . You touch so many lives .
Lynn my favourite interview. Showing that there are good marriages, good men and women. All it takes is intentionally committed to their relationships. The guy spoke good
Such a beautiful story of God’s goodness out of ashes. I knew Donald (we used to call him Donna) back in the day in NJ. He was a great guy and it is great to see him thriving.
This are soulmates,,,they are meant to be,,this was ordained in heaven,,,,it happens,,,but one thing I will never do,,it stop my life for a man,,,especially when he has not put a ring on it,,or I have seen his true intentions,,..God bless you both,,
@Charity Katam Looks like that. It's hard for someone to just be picked up. See, how far you can go back then, as to buy a house?! But even if it was of a bad intent. It turned around for an ultimate good to serve and make impact to more people's lives, for the glory of God.What was the strong take home for me, was the sense of peace he felt in his decision. When you are spiritually matured in the word and in the things of God. You know what the sense of peace means! Even when you don't know what's next in an unsure situation. There were so many layers to this story of faith, manhood, relationships, marriage, hope, love and life. It is a great story.
For visa that had expired, immigration don't go looking for that class of people, I agreed, someone snitched on him, remember, he just bought a house. Glory to the King of kings, he is living his dream.
Beautiful story. I have read their book as well and their story is captivating. Don and Cynthia also did premarital counseling for my hubby and I. They are truly called to the marriage ministry.

Beautiful blessed story.I love the Otieno’s and I love how they dedicated their relationship to God .As for His deportation ,seems like someone reported his non status to immigration. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. As long as we are kind ,good ,faithful people and close to our Almighty Father. He will always use our demise to bless us.God doesn’t let his people suffer I am a witness of that.Enemies can plan their wickedness but God will use their wickedness to bless his loving faithful children in double, triple potion.I don’t bother with wicked and evil people anymore because I know my God fights my battles .Man cannot and will never be bigger than God.
Looks like they/someone was jealous..just when he buys a house he is being picked up!..lotta them don't try to do anything with their lives and envies people who do and are successful....however,Evil that men do will live after them..
Unfortunately that's a huge possibility...Kenyans Abroad can be very treacherous in the US especially.. instead of working together they work against each other...I totally relate to the dudes story..I was detained along with a few relatives after someone called immigration hapa tu US in the state of NY many years ago for overstaying visas....being detained is NOT fun...long story short,we all appeared in front of a federal immigration judge who has the power to have you removed from the country or give you residency depending on your situation...as long as you dont have a crime or any criminal record you can fight and win.....I get that Don did NOT want to remain in detention while his appeal made it's way through the immigration courts and I dont blame him one bit cause those people can detain you indefinitely and appeals take forever...long story short my relas and I fought deportation for many years eventually got our greencards and ultimately became US citizens everybody is now thriving in their lives... am also making plans to return home for good...happy to see Don was able to thrive at home and struck the lottery with a wife who left the US to join him back home...that's rare these days.
@@Temboz Your story is so sad. I have Kenyan friends and never saw them in this light. I think its An African thing. Maybe the best thing is to keep status to oneself. I know how we sometimes want to share with others but eh! Some people have taken it upon themselves to be wicked on this earth.
@@Flourish_today : You cannot flourish if you keep status to yourself, people will know if you have papers or not, it is that simple. That was his luck and God has the best plan for him. If it was someone that snitched on him, they are evil and will regret, Don is living the best life.
I like the fact that Don' father & mother were there to mentor them. God help us who were not mentored and this marriage matter has been such a challenge.
Beautiful and heartwarming story about the transforming power of love. Thank you, Mr. Otieno and Ms. Ngugi for an engaging conversation. There is hope for our world.

People have overstayed in America for over 10 years. Kuna watu walimuuza huyu jamaa. This is not normal.
Obvious. I know someone who has been out of status since 1994, but he still there.
So true.
Lynn am glad n have a wonderful story tha can move mountains Joseph Oloo currently staying in kisumu comes from budalangi thanks

Amen, you too
Thanks and you too
To you too Winnie🙏🙏
Amen. You too
Amen🙏🏾
same to you kasweetie😘
Thank you so much. At this age and time, tribal, racial etc should not exist. As long as there is chemistry between the two, then the others should back off and let people build themselves. Thank you for sharing. I love you both, say hello to both your parents they have brought you well that a person is a person. There is no kikuyu or Luo we are all people who are loving and kind.
Oh
Marriage works and it takes work, well put. This is what the current generation is lacking!!!
May God's favour, mercy, grace and abundance locate this beautiful family 🙏🙏🙏
Why have a second work when you already have work.
I know the feeling of being deported and when you land at JKIA that's the most amazing feeling ever
What is amazing in that. Is it not shameful being escorted by police and hand you over to immigration officer in your country?
@@lifeisimportantkate hakuna kitu ya aibu hii dunia. What has not happened in this world before? Never think like that. Accept and move on
@@johnkuma6867 okay you are right. God has a wY of blessing people.
@@lifeisimportantkate yea. Never worry about people who will never add anything to yoyr life. They will just talk, laugh and thats the bedt they can come with. Singa mvele na maisha yako. I would never ever care anything about what people atu wsrasema about me. It us my life
@@johnkuma6867 I could not agree with you more. In my native speak. They say: if you listen to the noise of the market you won't buy.
People are just destiny distractors. We just have to love ourselves more and ignore them. Have a blessed day brother.
Lynn's hair is on point 👌,simple and elegant. About today's topic, when you find a good spouse, your live a happy and fulfilling life.
Sad story with a beautiful end. She met an honest and God fearing man who her instinct trusted. Therefore, she was paying back his honesty in the name of genuine love.
Amazing story. You gain everything when you have God.
When the right person or thing is to happen to someone's life God has the away indeed I am so happy for this couple 🥰 thank you lady Lynne
This is a proof we good men still exist
Lynn I love what you're doing. You're impacting lives, and I know its your main purpose in life. I'm from Nigeria, but I have this conviction that I'll sit and chat with you one of these days. People who do not know what humility is should watch you while you're chatting with your guests - and that's the secret of your success. Meanwhile, I love the Otieno's, and I implore God to supply their needs according to His riches in glory... Amen.
Much love to this show❤ may God bless Don's marriage
The tribal part just hit me hard.
The only real love have ever had.was from Central and then me from the lakeside then came the elections in 2017 when trust deemed.good things faded.
Reality hit hard.the tribal thing must stop.
As i viewed us as Kenyans
I love watching as I comment, I don't like generalizing the story coz it has both sad and happy moments🙏 The airport part is so humiliating😢💔
...yes, it feels very good ..at the airport to see citizen desk...yaaaay.
Interesting. I recall seeing a similar story about a couple who were pastors and faced deportation from the USA back to Kenya.
I'm blessed by your testimony, can't wait to learn more from your book. May God continue blessing you as you bless other people.
God is not a man that He'll destroy you ,I say this because without a doubt I'm sure Don was betrayed by a friend who knew his status but little did he know that it was the beginning of even a better life designed by the Almighty God. For this couple the best is yet to come in the name of Jesus ,God bless them with their children. Lynn thank you for job well done I love you so much 🙏🙏🔥🔥❤❤🤗🤗🤭🤭🌏
Thank you 😊 powerful words right there
One of the few wonderful woman. Bless her heart
I am inspired by such stories where couples are winning. I thank God for my own and I know marriages and love works
I love pastor Cynthia,,have interacted with her.She has a gud heart..
I really love this couple😍❤️their love story is amazing! There's no love without giving😊you have to sacrifice something 😀
That's not love that's a sacrifice
I will be forever blessed by this story. Thank you for sharing. I am so encouraged when our people make it when it comes to relationships. There are so many pretenders in each gender. Continued blessings!!
Loved this interview. Lynn you make your interviews come alive .
Watching from Uganda, let me enjoy the show bcz I understand the language is talking thanks Lynn
WOW!! Such a beautiful love story. Indeed "Faith reloaded"
Beautiful content...please bring Pastor Tonny Gobanga and Terry Gobanga as well
Watching from NY. This man's story inspiring yet painful..it reminds me that God don't come but he does send..never give up!
God bless your union Don and Cynthia and continue impacting lives!
Lynn I love your interviews, that's an amazing one.Real love exists, but it's hard to find unless it's endorsed in heaven.
Willingness to serve each other is the KEY to marriages worthy God's praise.
God Himself authored marriages.
Couples should serve each other as reverence to our Creator.
Amen
So happy for Don & Cynthia. I'm also in an intercultural marriage for 22 years. My maternal relatives were difficult but I stood my ground that I was not asking them but telling them. I informed them the date and time of the wedding and they were welcome to come or not come 🤣
I am so happy for Don and his wife. He was our second vice president KCFA he was a man of character then and he is still is even after his American dream was cut short. I bless God for you 🙏
Fighting fair in marriage not fighting to cause the other one to be a cripple👍👍👍
Hello dear this Gentleman he is a man all lady's will want to spend life with I live outside the country and I am in the same situation
Wow. Just an amazing story. He is so genuine. I felt his love for his wife, his respect for his parents, his trust he granted you. God bless you Don.
Ms Lynn Ngugi,
I have binge watched your show from Nashville, TN since I stumbled upon your UA-cam channel! As a Diasporic African, I have a strong sense of home when I see you interview such amazing people.
