As a long time logic fan, he definitely stepped it up an inch here for Eminem, but BELIEVE that boy spits fast raps on the regular. One of the better fast rappers who enunciates clearly and maintains a great cadence. Dope reaction!
@@brentwunderlich4634 Ah, I see the confusion, most consider good lyrics, wordplay and complex rhyme schemes as prerequisites. MGK at his best was always pretty basic with those. He had a couple albums where he wasn't offensively bad, but he was never considered especially good by the hip hop world. Plus Eminem killed him so hard he ran away to pop punk which was basically a dead genre with no competition and he's still getting dragged there
I've never heard this before but that was amazing. It's hilarious because I started following you for Elvis Presley or Led Zeppelin reactions or something and then we did the Lil Dicky stuff, so this just showed up in my feed and I said why not? This guy's pretty cool. That is one great feature of these reaction channels is that if you find reactors that you trust to be sincere and just generally do a good job and they're interesting, then I will find myself listening to stuff I normally would never have gravitated to. Love it.
I love this Eminem feature just for the fact that we all know he's going to triple entendre his beat, and then explains his entendres while rapping more of them behind it. So good...
The Red Rover bars are some that I think people sleep on because there's so much depth to it. 'Your Rover is red' = you're dead in your rover. 'I rode over my opponents instead' I believe is a reference to the childhood game, in which you say 'i dare so and so over'. He's saying he dares someone to come to him, but since no one will, he won't wait and run em over instead.
Red rover is a childhood game. 2 teams stand facing each other in a line holding hands and take turns calling someone from the other team over with: "red rover red rover, call right over." Then that person has to run to the other team's line and break through the hands of 2 people. If they break through, they go back to their team, and if they fail, then they join the other team. Eminem's bar is so fucking hard because he says he doesn't call anyone to run over to his side, he just runs himself over the opponents.
‘Em heard and watched Chris Delia do that impression of him and thought it was awesome and asked to have it put in the song after the fact and ALSO used the words that Chris used to “mock” Em and put them into his verse on this track which would likely be why you said “Hey! I’ve heard this before” after ‘Em said something like “habana and a bandana” or something along those lines. Me and Logic also went that step further and cameo’ed Chris into the video of the track. Great and honest reaction my guy, would’ve loved for you to start Em’s verse over those first few times and also in other sections too but you do you bro as you’re doing great as is, appreciate the reaction - respect from New Zealand 🇳🇿🤜🏾🤛🏾
Anything off under pressure, no pressure, vinyl days, and the incredible true story is logic at his best. Do some more logic bro and you won’t be disappointed
I was just going to post this. If anything, Logic's debut album establishes that his M.O. is extremely fast flows. He has a few songs, one on that album named "Nikki," that is much slower. I highly suggest turning on "Under Pressure," both the whole album and the titular song.
I love Eminem. Slim Shady LP was the first album I ever bought at 9 years old (yes, I know, way too young, I was one of the kids he "ruined"), He will forever be my #1 favorite rapper, etc etc. But I don't believe there is a "THE GOAT." I believe a lot of the greats bring something unique to the table and that's WHY they're one of the greats. Your Tupac, Nas, Biggie, Jay Z, Eminem, etc. They all brought something unique and that's why they're remembered.
even as a pretty hardcore logic fan only like half of his discography is good. id recommend any songs from under pressure, the incredible true story and his latest album.
it's funny the "roof" bar was actually a sneaky one by Em, the "roof over your head" wasn't the bar he was talking about it was the dog scheme in general, red rover, "making dog sounds", doberman, roof. imagine the people that were like "YOU DIDN'T GET ME EM, I GOT THE BAR" when they actually didn't. Em is a menace
That's Chris D'Elia at the end. He posted it by himself because he's been making fun of mumble rap on his social media. These two kinda rolled with it like "this is what you guys sound like" and they even hit up the comedian for the music video!
Logic has become one of my favorites since hit Rat Pack days. You mentioned about Jay Z and EM Collab as well as his one with Joyner. Logic was featured on Joyner's song ADHD and gotta say his verse blew Joyner's out of the park.
The one line I don't think gets enough love in this song is the caterpillar coming for thr canibis. It's a reference to Alice in wonderland. She meets a giant caterpillar smoking out of a giant bong. EMs follow up line references coming for the smoke. It's so damn good!!!!
@@TalkSig Yeah thats what i mean. He didnt try to out rap em he choose a different lane. Reminds me of when em and lil wayne get on a track. they are so different you cant really compare them. listening to you breakdown Ems bars while i was trying to get it at the same time was nuts. You got things i didnt and i may have(at the time) caught some things you missed. Love listening to Em.
I’m sure someone commented this already. But Chris D’Elia is the comedian who was doing these impressions and THEN Eminem wrote his verse using the words that Chris D’Elia used in his impression. Chris was also in the music video which is a huge W.
Been a long time, hip-hop fan. Discovered logic around 2016. Right off the bat, you can tell he spits. Secondly, he’s consistently paying homage to the OG’s. That boy different and wise. People just don’t get how smooth his delivery is. One of the goat emcees who truly delivers and switches genres seamlessly. His producer 6ix is an absolute beast too. But is criminally underrated in the community. Thank you for the throwback! Do Under Pressure, GP4, Breath Control and Gang Related.
It’s funny, people don’t realize Em produced “Renegade.” He gets slept on as a producer, but he was the only rapper who wrote and produced two songs that went Diamond (Lose Yourself and Love the Way You Lie), until Kanye did it with Stronger.
Great job breaking down all the double and triple metaphors, as a non-native English speaker I missed allot of these. This just cements what I already knew about Eminem. He's just different. Though Logic as you said, held his own. Great song, great breakdown, great video!
Jay Z is still my favorite too. The skill set is different. Em is a point guard hustling and controlling the floor and breaking ankles. Jay is a smooth small forward with an unstoppable jump shot and game flow/awareness. Same game, different skills. Still watching. Blueprint also my favorite Jay Z album. Heart of the City (Ain't No Love) is my favorite track.
They do have different styles, but that doesn't mean they can't be compared and default to equal. Just like in basketball, you can compare a Steph Curry to a guard and say their styles are acclimated to different roles, but everyone knows Curry is the mvp.

Every artist's song that Eminem appears on there songs or whatever he puts them all to shame and it becomes his song. I'm old school from the 90's but i give Slim much respect
My fav Em story: Busta Rhymes said he finished a part of a collab and the he found out Em was gonna be on the track he jumped bqck in the booth cause he had to be perfect now..
One track they sent the verses back and forth and Eminem kept upping his verse si busta had to write more sent it back Eminem Sent back more bars and the song ended up nearly 6 minutes it was calm down
So the final part where Eminem is all "you using way too many napkins, chapkins..." That was actually a comedian known as Chris D'elia, he had made that skit about how Eminem raps. But he ended up getting sooo much hate from Eminem's fans that Eminem had to speak out and tell everyone it was funny and not harmful... but the "stans" kept at it, so Eminem put Chris into the music video as his stand-in and at the very end, Eminem dressed as Chris, recited his skit again. If you ever get a chance, watch the music video.

Logic’s lyrics are very weak, lots of filler words with simple end rhymes. His cadence and appeal to diversity is what sells his raps. He has personality, but his raps don’t sell his albums.
Logic does rap fast sometimes but he definitely turned it to 11 for this collab with Eminem. Which you pretty much have to if you're doing a song with Em.
