No one can touch Eminem. He is so different from any other artist in music history. I grew up listening to him, and everyone I knew liked and respected him. Many people are going to be listening to his songs for many years to come.
I grew up listening to em too. But I also recently started studying hip hop. Actually because of this acceptance speech here. I learned that I was a disrespectful little fuck listening to some bullshit and calling it good when I grew up in an era of the illest to ever touch the microphone. A little late to the hip hop education but god damn am I having fun discovering how amazing hip hop truly is. And em. Yeh he can’t be touched.
Years? nah sis Decades!! There are only a handful of Iconic artists that over their career completely changed history and life as we know it .. Elvis, The Beatles, Ray Charles, Tina Turner, Jimi Hendrix , Freddy Mercury , Prince, Michael Jackson , Madonna and Eminem!!

Well they didn't miss much. His songs aren't a great example for kids. They very explicit content. Its more for adults. I wouldn't want my kids to listen to it till they reach 18 or more.
He may be a high scool drop out, but he sure has been hitting the books. his lyrics are chock full of references from pop culture, history, science, nature, etc.etc.etc. I highly suspect that man is scarily intelligent.
His acceptance speech citing everyone who built the culture and built him was the best acceptance speech I’ve heard yet at The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. That was very humbling and packed a ton of humility and gratitude. Em demonstrated an excellent way to be in that speech 👏🏼❤️
Im glad he gave flowers to those who other's would not. Not many outside of the 80s know Roxanne Shante, Nucleus, black sheep, the cheers told you they only knew those who blew up big.. sad but They all deserve to be there.
This mans lyrics have single-handedly saved my life, and the not afraid is a 💎 in the rough. His lyrical ability to switch how he does, his stories throughout his songs, and the ability to literally touch you through his music. Em, Thank you!
13:00 he literally named every rapper from the beginning of hip hop and r&b lmao massive legends. He gave them a moment in the rock and roll hall of fame out of respect that shows how much eminem truly respected the legends of rap. Yet he doesn't realize that he is literally one of those legends as well.
I may have missed it...did he leave off Missy Elliot? They didn't have beef, did they?...I mean the track Busa Rhyme and all the interviews she gave about how good he was yet humble...
@@theHardChargerVidsnot sure, he was shouting out folks that hadn't been inducted yet and Missy didn't get inducted til last year. But, almost all of them were guys and it could just be that those were ones he liked best. Plus, he and Missy are bout same age so maybe he sees her less as inspiration and more as a contemporary 🤔
I love how Ed Sheeran was asked like the night before by Eminem to perform with him and hopped right on a plane and then performed and then hopped back on a place bc he was doing a series thing he did and the day of the induction into the Hall of fame was his day off (Ed said all of it in an interview)
OMG! He was 50 years old and after using up all his energy in a live show, he went through the whole speech without drinking any water. He didn't talk much about himself, but mentioned a lot of names of rappers who influenced him. Eminem is a 90's/early 2000's image, but he is still alive and rapping. It's a miracle that he is still alive and rapping, no one else can duplicate his charisma, his looks, his voice, and he has broken racial barriers with his music. Now he is a humble and truly wonderful man. This living legend should not be missed. If he dies... I imagine this every day. Hip hop will definitely die. He has been a long time admirer and lyricist of pac biggy and others for decades. The younger generation will know him too. I really hope he lives a long life.❤ @eminem 🐐 He may be a billionaire, but he doesn't brag about it, and his videos don't feature wads of cash, supercars, or women with their butts in the air. I really like that❤
I can’t believe Steven Tyler still has such a powerful singing voice, how’s that even possible when so many rock vocalists that are 15-20 years younger have voices that are totally shot.
TO be VERY truthful on Tyler's voice? He did wreck his voice. Go listen to Toys in the Attic. Barely sounds like the same guy. The difference is? His voice is still incredible. Just a different incredible.
That’s next level name-dropping. Using your whole speaking time for your rock n roll induction speech to name each and every rapper who influenced you in your life and who most of the people now don’t even know anymore 👏🏽

Mad respect to Eminem for giving that respect to every single rapper and MC that paved the way for him to be standing where he is today. This is how you do it.
And poked the RRHoF in the face, pointing out that there's really no "home" for Rap/Hip-hop artists and only a few have ever been inducted. He rattled off *3 pages* of artists and yet the list I just looked up had NINE artists in the "rap" genre out of over 360 total inductees. They need to do better.
His words at the end....wow. Brought tears to my eye, and I'm 56. Seen him grow for 24 years and this is an absolute beautiful full circle. What a warrior.
That was undoubtedly the absolute most humble acceptance speech ever, and it’s no surprise that Eminem would be so grateful in biguppin’ real rappers and not these lazy textbook rhymers that the world has fallen in love with today. The G.O.A.T.!

I love how he took the time to honor ALL the rapers who influence him! Just shows how humble Eminem truly is! He spent his ENTIRE speech to his "rockstars" ..those he looks up to! His speech was about others, not himself! 🎤🎤🎤🎤
The beauty of Eminem is the generations that love him. He’s so talented and I can’t think of any artist in his genre that has the wide demographic that he has.
I feel so privileged to grow up during the same time as Eminem’s come up. Whether we like it or not, this man helped bridge two different cultures when everyone said it couldn’t be done
I was super impressed by both Eminem and Steven Tyler. Steven Tyler sounded absolutely phenomenal, and Em's speech was sooo humbling that he gave it to everyone else and spoke so little about himself. LEGEND!!
Love how Eminem said that the early influencing artists that he mentioned, deserves that equal importance of that night. They were his teachers. He is who he is, and what he has become because of them. That speaks volumes. Eminem is humble and is truly deserving of what he has achieved. Just wished these rappers and crews shouted Eminem out as much as Eminem has shouted them out and shown them love. Only a few of them have.
Watching this man perform brings tears to my eyes. Always so well done and so polished. Most people probably didn’t notice a few mistakes.. Absolute next level legend. He deserves all the love and praise. I also admire how incredibly humble he is still to this day.
its so cool to see people like steven Tyler and Ed sheeran and even Elton John making songs with Em its really just speechless how much music can bring Generations together like this
I love the crowd reaction. celebs, and non-celebs all getting into the performance. I love seeing them all sing-along and watch the excitement on their faces as they witness the brilliance known as Eminem
It's basic human compassion to be able to recognize when it's someone else's moment in the spotlight. Sit back and enjoy it. But if you get to participate, rock the f*ck out, just like Steven Tyler did.
Listen to this man. He gets flowers and gives flowers. He respects, He destroys, He upholds, He isn't perfect, He gives back and He is a father. I am sure I missed a bunch others but I'm so lucky to see this star shine. Thank you.

I still don't understand how Eminem's voice is like a facking Studio Voice!! He is a LIVING LEGEND!!
