There was a black nite club in Beaumont, BB King let Johnny on stage to play when he was about 16, we all would go to the Big Oaks in Vinton, Louisiana to hear him and sometimes he and Edgar would ride with us, he was a true student of the Blues, a Texas Style gunslinger...and he was at Woodstock, he played with all the Blues Greats, from Muddy on down the line, and every Rocker know to man. He had a coke bottle top cut off to play slide. RIP. JW.

Uno de los mejores guitarras de la historia! Tremenda versión!
Johnny Winter , that AWESOME performer, left us .He came from TEXAS, I think. He also played in WOODSTOCK in 1969. He influenced many guitarits like Angus Young ( AC/DC )....R.I.P.
Nice, didn't know he played Woodstock
Beaumont Texas, played Austin a lot
Yup a great Texas blues guitarist. One of the world's finest!!!!
@@nipigonsue A talented family. Don't forget Edgar as well
Seem him in '74 along with Spooky Tooth (Gary Wright) and Humble Pie in Virginia, awesome!
I saw Johnny Winter live multiple times in different states, geographically and mentally.
It's unbelievable that someone can play with such a feeling that the hair on my arms stands on end! Johnny Winter and Jimi Hendrix raised the bar of what you can do with a guitar and broke all boundaries! ❤🙏
Johhny Winter. Not someone most women like, but he is definitely one of the greatest guitarist ever. Look up Hendricks & Johhny. I wouldn't miss his hard-driven' rocking blues for anything! Hard, sweet, and ever-lovin' Albino. Long live the Winter Season. Yum.
Yeah, Johnny had an edge, but it spoke (and speaks) volumes to the world. He definitely defies superlatives. Calling him "great" is kinda like calling Neil Armstrong a pilot.
Joyce Ellingsen who gives a shit if a woman likes him? It's about the music! Females can go and listen to some pretty boy lip sync talentless band!
Michael Wallace hey thats kinda offensive lol i love me some johnny ,i may be speaking for myself but its attractive as fuck when someone plays like that , pulls me right in!
Joyce Ellingsen Actually, Johnny's had more women than Lindsay Lohan has had DUIs.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
unbelievable how great this guy was
if u see Johnny for the 1st time,u never heard anything like him
johhny winter has been kicking ass for me since the summer of 1969! r.i.p.
me too since i saw him at Woodstock
its goode not good not a patch on chuck berry orginal or Hendrix cover
this solo is too good for youtube
Saw this guy twice in concert absolutely phenomenal
Ha! Right on Mark
Nothing in the galaxy to compare to. :)
You got that shit right brother....
I saw Johnny Winter,,,
round this time 1984 when he was in "Tweed Head's Gold Coast Australia",,in a very large Hall,,with waitress serving beers while he Played ,,in front of like only 150 people.
You could walk around the Hall with a Beer while he played,in front of you,the sound, acoustics of the place was like an opera hall,,totally unbelievable,,experience,,,epic.
Johnny was awesome,,he was almost heavy rock,,best concert ever...
I love this version of Johnny B. Goode by Johnny Winter, he's an awesome lead guitarist bar none!!! I won't get tired listening to it over and over again!!
My main man Johnny, is from Beaumont, Tx. The greatest!
Jeezzzzz this man had no speed limit. Amazingly good! ( Blues Foundation Hall of Famer. Well deserved respect! )
Amazing raw talent. I could and sometimes listen to Johhny Winter. Sadly missed. RIP JW
Well people we lost the original KING OF ROCK AND ROLL . Rest in Peace Chuck Berry, and thank you for the music you brought, and for the start of rock and roll.
I never thought of Johnny as a Cowboy...not even close :)
and I love his brother Edgar...I actually talked to Edgar in Virginia Beach 40 years ago
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who grew up loving Johnny Winter. Got to see him twice in Florida,Blazing speed!!
If you have to be somewhere that's an hour away but you only have 30 minutes to get there....just play this tune... you'll make it
One of my top 10 gun slingers, R.I.P. Mr Winter.
johnny winter
( Rip)
from Texas
one of the best guitar in modern
music history
One of the best jobs of the Chuck Berry classic 'johnny b. goode' ever. Man, Winters was truly one of the very much all-time blues and, rock guitarists of all-times. Winters was deep blues. Loved him and, always will.
'Winter' damn-it! Not 'Winters', fucking pisses me off when people do that. He's not Jonathan Winters brother, he's Edgar's brother and their last name is 'WINTER' Damn-it!
By far the best version of Johnny B good ever !! Dam the man could
¡Este hombre llevaba el rock and roll en las venas, tocaba con sangre, corazón y alma!
STOOD BEFORE THE MAN ..NOT 5 FEET AWAY WHEN HE RIPPED INTO THIS CLASSIC... MY YOUNGEST SON , WHO PLAYS A LITTLE, STOOD THERE WITH HIS JAW ON THE FLOOR... ALL I COULD THINK WAS..""WE'RE NOT WORTHY"".. NEEDLESS TO SAY, WHEN HE RIPPED INTO HIGHWAY 61 THE ROOF CAVED IN. REST IN PEACE SLINGER...YOU WERE THE BEST!!!!
John Dawson Winter 3rd , lay peacefully with the knowledge that you are without equal. In a class of your own. There are other guitar gods who got close to, but never made it to that final level which is yours alone. 23rd feb 1944 - 16th July 2014
God bless you man, when you found your groove,,+++..your still here!
His freakin intro is a minute long gotta love that
Johnny Winter is REALLY a great guitar player, WOW!! I'll listen to it again!!
Quel solo extraordinaire, Sacré Johnny, Toi tu avais le Mojo mon pote 😎
What an amazingly talented musician he was.
Thank You so much for your great Talent music forever.Johnny
Winter 🎸🎵🙏🇺🇲
As much as I love Chuck Berry as he was one of my biggest influences, this version of johnny be good is such a gem. Johnny winter goes hard
Dam this guy could play...he just never stopped! His solos never got boring!!
Always loved JW, got to see him around 1977 in So Cal
He never looked like a health fanatic, but he did make it to 70.
Probably experienced more than most 140 yr olds tho. R.I.P.
I knew them when we were kids and went to school with him and Edgar. RIP. JW.
Jimi and Johnny - the two best live Johnny B Goode covers!
its hendrix for me
I am crying like a baby. This video brought back so many awesome memories of seeing Johnny, Edgar, Robin Trower, Frank Marino at Harpos in Detroit in the 80s...johnny Winter,l forever in our hearts
I knew Johnny passed, but to see this video from 84, and he attended Jimi Hendrix's funeral....
Harpos!! Gratiot and 11 mile..? or was it Conners..? Are we showing our age..? I saw ac/dc warm up for Kiss at Cobo in like 1978 i think..LOL..
few who actually saw this man knew how special he and his brother are /were
I saw Johnny pn August 16th 1977at the Fox theater in Atlanta Georgia. This was the day Elvis Presley died. Johnny dedicated the show to him.
FULL TILT BLITZKRIEG !!!!! JOHNNY EXPLOSION !!!!!! ... so damn perfect ...... "Bear"
This is such a good version of this song i also watched his version from 1971 amazing how much he improved it over that time.
Plays guitar just like ringing a bell. Johnny is simply the best. Jon Paris nailing it, too, when Johnny's improvising.
we are so lucky to have this remarkable record of this remarkable man…….
