Back in the 1970's when I would turn my friends on to Johnny who had never heard of him, they would always say the same thing..."Does this guy ever let up?" I would reply "NOPE!!!"
F**K !!! I bet Robert Johnson would have never imagined his Delta Blues classic 'When You Got A Good Friend' would have been performed with such a fierce electric guitar attack by a skinny white boy from Texas some 40 years later.
I used to rush the gate sneak through the back door of every concert i went to years .I saw johhny winter aand john mayal together ,great music,i cant remember how i got in but gate cop was on my tail I headed for the up stairs an to the buocany forget only one way in or out the cop was closing in i climbed as far down over railing he reached for me i let go landed right between the rows of seats right in front of a couple much to there astonishment and my luck seei ng how it was dark i instintly dashed away and an dodged the cop on way out when show was over.another concert under my belt.
He could improvise all day. Genius
i saw JW with this lineup a couple times in the early 90's. he could wail away with that little guitar like nobodies business.
Pure genius

That looks like the Granada theater in Dallas, I believe I was at that show that night.
Actually was Capitol Theatre, Passaic, NJ. 1984. Demolished in 1989, now a shopping Mall.
Gira europea baracaldo vizcaya pais vasco megapark......GOOD TIME FOR MY HEARTH.❤😊

Switching from a Firebird to a Steinberger was quite a transition when comparing size of instruments.
NOT A STEINBERGER. CLOWN
It's actually an Erlewine Lazer
Who are the other musicians in this video?
Johnny's bass player Jon Paris and Santana's original drummer Michael Shrieve. Michael is working hard keeping the beat for Johnny!!!
I was WONDERING if that was Mike on the skins. Couple BAD ASSES those two
