Don't get me wrong, I love this song, but I interpreted the lyrics way differently so I was confused by the music video. I thought the lyrics meant that the "perfect" girl had broken up with the guy or died or something, and that the second girl (the POV of the singer) was another girl he'd begun to date because she was similar to the first girl. Except the guy still hadn't gotten over the first girl so the second one felt like she was being neglected even though she really cared for him.
