  • My three fave, super speedy smoothies - all vegan, all delicious and all just so quick!
    Cashew & Brazil Nut Smoothie (serves 1)
    - 1banana, frozen or fresh, peeled
    - 100g frozen mango
    - A handful of fresh spinach
    - 2 brazil nuts
    - 3 cashews
    - About 200ml of almond milk
    Banana & Almond Shake (serves 2)
    - 2 ripe bananas, peeled
    - 350ml almond milk
    - 6 medjool dates, pitted
    - 2 heaped teaspoons almond butter
    - 2 small teaspoons of cinnamon
    Mango, Pineapple & Avocado Smoothie
    - 1 ripe avocado, destoned
    - 100g frozen mango
    - Juice of half a lime
    - 100ml pineapple juice
    - 100ml coconut milk (from a carton, not a tin)
    Method for them all: Place all of the ingredients into a blender and pulse until smooth. To make them cooler, add ice. To make them thicker and more filling add some oats and shelled hemp seeds

      @@valerie4912 this is completely false and baseless science that people like to tell themselves to avoid eating good food like fruits.
      But fructose is only harmful in excessive amounts, and not when it comes from fruit. It would be incredibly difficult to consume excessive amounts of fructose by eating whole fruits.
      It’s much easier to consume excess sugar from foods and drinks that contain “free sugars”.
      Free sugars include these same sugars (fructose, glucose, sucrose), but in this case they have been removed from their naturally occurring source (rather than being eaten as natural parts of fruits and some vegetables and grains). This includes sugar that is added to food and drinks by food companies, cooks or consumers.
      Unlike many foods that are high in free sugars, fruits are packaged with lots of nutrients that help provide us with a balanced diet for good health.
      Fruit is an excellent source of fibre. An average banana will provide 20-25% (6g) of your recommended daily fibre intake.
      Please stop spreading unscientific bs and scaring away people from being vegan or inclined to enjoying fruits and vegetables, yk, the food we really should be eating.

      Or you can take fresh greens, kale, spinach and blend with water and freeze in an Ice tray. I always use more than one cube, as I like to have lots of greens in my smoothie.

    what’s the difference between carton coconut milk and the tinned?

    • @clockworkalmond1032
      @clockworkalmond1032 4 роки тому +1

      Charlie canned is normally for cooking and carton for drinking. it has way less fat and is more like milk. I think there’s also coconut milk for cooking in cartons but this should be the one for drinking.

    These do look delicious but they are a treat and definitely not healthy or sensible breakfast options! No qualified nutritionist would approve. Sugar content is off the scale. The notion that just anyone can go online and share recipes like this makes me very cross. Whether the word 'healthy' is used or not, it is definitely implied.

    As a professional nutritionist and lover of this channel, I am sorry but I need to say this: these all look fantastic but the dates and banana one.. just doing a very simple calculation you are pushing almost 50gr of sugar in 1 SERVE. I know this si not refined sugar but you cannot promote this like a healthy breakfast option, because simply it is not.

    • @mariac.4858
      @mariac.4858 4 роки тому

      Alex Awj with 2 servings you would be pushing 100gr

    • @mariac.4858
      @mariac.4858 4 роки тому +4

      sabrena17 definitely, just wanting to put out there that starting your day with a 50gr sugar smoothie might not be the best way. Maybe putting the nutritional info. in the description could be helpfull. As I said, no hate at all, just wanted to warn.
