    Hi! Sorry I missed the live! I'm still in and out of it due to the surgery. I love your pins. They're epic! I find I can't handle posting nearly any AI art without fixing it all up. Most only looks good from a distance. I admit, I stopped doing much marketing months ago. My pins apparently are boring. lol. And on Twitter I'd make posts for my store, and for my daughter's, and friends started in on me about being attention-seeking and (insert all cliched bad predictions about starving artists). I've recently realized they also said I should go work at a shop if I want money. Now I'm determined to make this Q4 a good one by marketing. I'll be going back to rewatch all your tips about it. Have a great night!! (I think you made... hmm. $20US? )

    I'm so sad about missing it but it's the middle of my work day. I have enjoyed playing with ai art but I quickly learned that it's much more interesting to make my own designs. I do enjoy using AI for a seamless pattern and then repper and manually doing companion patterns to create a collection.

    I had hoped for higher profits from your test of RB & AI especially since you had done Pinterest pins to advertise but hope that the blogging for it will prove more profitable. Shimmy Morris did wash tests on their t-shirts and they tested very poorly so I thought your idea of washing your t-shirt in vinegar first was a great idea as I know vinegar sets dyes and I buy it by the gallon and use it in the rinse, (about a cup per load) after washing seasonal things I’m storing till next season to avoid mildew because the Oregon coast is more than damp-it rains about 9 months of the year. That was my in kind thank you for your t-shirt in vinegar pre-washing tip ( do you use straight vinegar? Or add it to a wash or rinse cycle?) another tip if you forget to use the vinegar rinse and get mildewed clothing is to soak the mildewed areas in vinegar before washing to reset the dye that the mildew has lifted off the fabric. You’ve given me so many tips that I don’t know how I’ll repay you. I’m eagerly awaiting your blogging tutorials-will you create them with copy.ai or ChatGPT or Claude2? (I’ve tried Claude (by anthropic in beta no in store app yet but it’s free- for now) for slogan inspiration and it helped inspire me to write). I like the idea that blogging seems informative about products. Would you consider doing a shorts video about product ads and how that would work? You did answer my previous question about video pins not being possible for free and I’ve seen an incredible combo reality and anime UA-cam short showing a product brand that compelled me to watch it several times for the artistic styling. I think it was filmed first and sections were over drawn in anime style then spliced in instead of that film part-totally attention grabbing. Remember the Ah Haa music video? Kinda like that but using color anime instead of just black and white anime. The new anime programs only do a few seconds but using this style of transitioning makes even 4 seconds useable as an attention grabber then transitioning back to photographic film mode for details of product look and back to anime for styling and logo and text info really brilliant!!! And before you inspired me I didn’t want to do advertising!!!

    I'm still having trouble with the definition of "niche". Does it refer to my design/art or what I am selling, ie. shoes, home dec, etc.? So much info to digest. One last question, did you publish info regarding parameters for desktop images vs. mobile images?

    • @AerinK97
      @AerinK97 10 місяців тому +1

      It's not about the products the designs are on but more about the style. Lets say tomorrow somehow "dancing cows" become a trending topic, you could refer to that as niche you could work with and mainly sell designs that involve dancing cows.

    Wow! So much useful information here, Mey. Thank you so much for putting yourself through this challenge and sharing this experience with us. So many people get sucked into the lies about getting rich quick with POD. It's so wrong to mislead people, but there really isn't a way for social media platforms to regulate this kind of nonsense. Thank you for keeping it real and giving honest feedback on these passive income streams. You've proven you can make a living with POD, but it's not going to happen over night. I'm seriously looking forward to seeing what happens when you start blogging and marketing your RB shop properly. What you said about setting up and marketing smaller niche shops being a better strategy than filling a shop with tons of random designs makes SO MUCH SENSE from a marketing perspective. That way you don't have to market every single design. You can just pick the 5 you like the most. Well done, Mey! I hope you are well and having tons of fun with your projects. See you in your next post. ❤💛💙

    • @MeyTribe
      @MeyTribe  10 місяців тому

      Well, these days I think that it's less of a problem, with AI text writing tools...
      You have some nice free tools like the CF text writer and ChatGPT.
      I made this video about how to write a blog post using 2 AI tools:
      ua-cam.com/video/_1WZzhNnw6g/v-deo.html
      And the 3rd tool I used in it was ME, writing in a way that isn't "creative" at thought, but mostly focused on describing several items in the same category.. Maybe it will help you out :)
      Also, you can def make money without blogging- by investing time in Social media, creating tiktoks or reels for example.

      Honestly? No.
      Marketplaces such as RedBubble have been known to delete political related accounts. For Print on demand revolving Politics I'd recommend having your own shop, with Shopify, Squarespace, Wordpress... and connecting it with your own supplier.
      You'll have to do all the marketing.
      You can still try and upload to RB, however - your work might be taken down, as well as - you might not get any traffic without marketing.

    Refreshing conclusions about ai but not unexpected given you like to design. I thought you'd make around $35...still, it isn't sustainable as a business model even if it did a little better (even if one enjoys being a text jockey).
    I guess I have a foolish question that I haven't seen answered no matter where I look - if one were to start a blog (and where does one start said blog - I've seen many variations but I only run across them when I look for something hyper-specific...), how do the blog entries get seen - doesn't that have the same issue (as with the product listings) of no one seeing it?

    With 25 products, I made $26
    I followed a youtube tutorial that set some realistic expectations stating that you can expect about $1 per product per PoD site per month.
    It sounds like it is quite a small amount, but if you make 25 products per month, and you upload it to 3 sites. Your income will increase with $75 per month.
    Which is a pretty decent side hustle.
