I just did mine, I don't think I breathed for 30 minutes. I added a second 1-amp tender at the starter and did not see the battery warning on my 24 RG. Thanks for the video
Thks Tom, haven't completed my update yet, waiting until after my 75 degree ride this weekend here in TX, just in case the update don't go well, however I shared your video on facebook and several people installed without any issues-U Da Man!
Seems to be going well for most but I have a few I am trying to help. Lucky you, we are to get more snow tomorrow morning but possibly a 60 degree day this weekend!
Just completed it on my 24 ST. Worked as advertised. Thank you for the awesome video tutorial. Watching you gave me the confidence to give it a shot. What could possibly go wrong 😂
Great info, Thank you for being an early adopter and sharing your experiences. I took delivery of a 24 SG at Christmas. I Quickly realised that a 1 amp battery tender was less than adequate when learning how to use infotainment system. I purchased the NOCO 5 amp charger/tender ( Same as the HD one) and its much better at keeping battery fully charged at all times.
Yep I have heard this. For normal use my 1amp seams to work well but when making videos with the bike on I may upgrade! The Harley versions are made by NOCO but the NOCO often does not come with the SAE connector.
@@ITFZone Yes that's correct i had to purchase the SAE connector separately. From Amazon It was still cheaper than buying the Harley branded one though.
Hi Tom, did my update yesterday, went well, about the same time, 30mins there abouts. Had not checked the Onince box, but I did see my headset adapter working fine, using a Ugreen adapter. So far all seems good. I also find it a bit of a worry when my 24 standard came with maps included here in AUS, shame it's not the same there. But the zoom feature is a godsend, how many times trying to pinch the screen at 70mph wit gloves on, and I'm not a tall guy, so need to reach a bit forward. lol. Much better now. Thanks again for the update. Good work as always. Edit, one addition I think still needs adding to Navigation display, a North indicator. Like the compass needle that has been in almost all other Navigation displays. Otherwise, still all good.
Thanks Tom for another great how to video. Looking forward to your next video as you go through your screen to see if everything is working as advertised.
@@ITFZone Roads here in NJ are covered with salt from recent snow, so no riding for me either. Did my update this morning no issues and a total of 34 minutes start to finish.

Hey bud, once again, another informative and helpful video, thank you for your invested efforts, I’m terrified about attempting this, I’ll have to weigh the dealer option, but 1st I’ll watch your video a million more times… Thanks pal🙏
You are most welcome! Dealers look to be charging for this update so I think it’s worth a shot to attempt on your own. Update the Service Bulletin M1666 notes this is a warranty item so it should be free.
Great video. I just updated mine. The maps are better in that you can zoom in and out with the top and bottom left hand control buttons. Nothing on the screen however would let you know that. Also I believe the sound paths are sticky now so that you don’t have to keep resetting it to headset for example, at least in my few tests.
Great video. I did this on my bike last night and it was pretty painless. You really only need one usb drive. Load usb 1 on there do the update then wipe the usb drive and put the usb 2 items on it and plug it in. I download all sw from HD into files on my laptop so this worked out for me really well even though I ended up not needed usb 1 (should’ve checked it before I put it on the drive). Always great content. Looking forward to future videos. Always ride safe.
You are correct! The update is designed to pick up where it left off so you can get away with 1 drive and for most you should only need the #2 download. Appreciate your support!
Thank You!! Dealership told me that it would cost me $75 for them to flash my amp. I see that they really need to do that update for my Stage 2 RF. Thanks!!
@ Actually spoke to dealership this morning. Had to inform them, at which time they thank me, b/c they were unaware. I was like “wow”. I told them while bike is in for 5000 service to go ahead and update that for me. lol
Glad you had success and my fingers are crossed, we are having a real Colorado winter this year so it may be a bit before we know what fixes we really have. Hopefully those with warm winters will update us!
Thanks for video! Updated my bike this AM. I have experienced issues with both incoming calls and navigation interruptions causing my Apple Car Play to stop working through my cardo headset. Fingers crossed this update fixes these issues!!
Curious if you have the same issues as me. When using my cardo, if I have it set so that my music stops when someone talks or navigation talks etc, my music won't come back on. So I have to run it so my music keeps playing through other sound. Is this your issue? I have a box that allows me to use android auto and ive been unsure if the issue is with thr cardo, the box, or the bike
Thanks again for an amazing video, very helpful! And I look forward to (finally) be able to zoom in- and out on the map with the navigation 😂 that indeed is a big win. Thanks! Maarten

I would love to add 2 subs but I want to do them in lower fairings instead of losing my saddle bags but I'm wondering just how tricky that might be to do. Any insight you have would be appreciated. Thanks again. I'm sure there are others wondering about subs and the amp update in case you get crazy and do some research and a full video on the topic! Thanks again.
I really don’t have any information for you. All of the manufactures have gone to using the saddlebags. Now that we have a true set of lowers from the factory we may see some options.
@ Ok good to know I have a comment from another viewer saying it worked for him. Really would like to figure this one out but moving to OTA updates we likely will never know! Appreciate you posting!
With the new amp update, it now has a setting to select stage 3 fairing speakers. I’m sure this is for the new speakers that were just released, but I’m curious what the results would be using that setting with the stage 2 speakers. Those speakers are rated for up to 150w RMS, so still less than the max 125w per channel that the 500w amp is advertised as capable of.

Why wont Harley send us to dealers to get these upgrades
I hear you and don’t disagree. They note that this is a warranty item so it should be free. Going forward these will over the air (WIFI) updates. Hopefully an update never goes out that bricks everyone’s bikes!
Somebody please tell me this fixes the terrible map views and lack of pan/zoom before I have my heart broken again???
Zoom yes, rest of it at least just looking at the screen not so much. Will be a bit before I get to try it on a ride.
Great video. Had to use my wife’s pc and while copying folders to the flash drive I keep getting an error code 0x80004005 and it wants to try again or skip, has anyone experienced this?
I tried it again and got the same code. Skipped it and it copied fine other than that but hesitant to put that update on the bike. Any info greatly appreciated!
Not seen this one, You might consider formatting the thumb drive, selecting exfat and quick format. If not try the long format. Also I assume you tried a new downloaded copy of the update. I agree I would not proceed without a successful copy of the folders and file.
Has anyone figured it out with a MAC?
I would love to know as well!! It’s that 2nd folder, it’s large and I am really not sure. Really same issue as the first update.
Can’t do it on a Mac, as I found out. Have to use Windows, then it works.
My guess is no USB-A due to much slower transfer speeds and longer update time.
Depends on your adapter but don’t disagree!
Should be able to update via wifi. As usual HD misses the mark.
Exactly.... what is the point of Wi-Fi if not for update?
Well after this update we have over the air updates!
Agree but now we have it!
I'm happy to say that I bought a 2024 Ultra Limited this past fall. I enjoy watching your videos and because of watching them I wanted to stay away from the new infotainment radio. This video just reinforces my decision. Thanks.
Often I would not disagree with you!
1 5 7 6 4 omg so confused. Cant my dealer do this ?
Yes but it looks like they are charging for it.
hope its not installing SKYNET. Then you will have a terminator bike.
LOL! Would have to be a FatBoy model!
Can you leave the headset adapter connected while you update?
Not sure I did not have mine connected. I would advise not to.
