I couldn't agree more. It's our responsibility as animal owners to put their welfare first. And if that means saying a heartbreaking good bye then that's what must be done. I hate it when people keep animals alive and chronically suffering because they don't want to be sad. It happens all too often.

When you first got Skeletor, you didn't know if he would make it through the re-feeding process. He did and turned into a stunning horse with goofball personality that only comes from a happy horse. His time with you was a lifetime because of your determination, compassion, and love. Prayers up for Whiplash; he's in the best of hands.
I know I can speak for your subscribers when I say we all felt terribly about Skelly. Its always hard when you loose any animal. Hang in there, we are all behind you!

We all just feel like he belongs with you. While I love Primrose and Scarlet, just as much. I sense they would be fine elsewhere in their own time. There is just something magical about Ziggy.

Each time I think of Skeletor, I start crying. I am so sorry for your loss. I do know you gave him the best life and care possible. Skeletor was happy and had a personality as big as he was. Your dedication and commitment to all your animals is amazing. You are in tune with each of your horses and they are so lucky you found them. You are always taking care of Tiny, or Huckleberry or one of you horses...please remember to take care of yourself.

It's a grace that Skelly wound up saving Whiplash. ❤ caring for colic horses was very difficult part of being a vet tech.

My deepest condolences for Skeletor's sad ending. At least he had some happy time with you after his rescue, which he would not have had without you. When I had Arabs, they didn't get trailered very often, and they were not as nonchalant as your horses are about getting into the trailer. Our standing joke was, if you want a horse to poop, just start loading him in the trailer. If the impaction cleared up, we fed a soupy bran mash for a while.

I don't think Ziggy is interested in friends. I feel like you have tried him with everyone and he just wants them to leave him alone. He's quite happy it seems to have his own space. He's fine with seeing other horses but he doesn't want to interact. He likes you the best.
I love horse girls. Talking about poop and worrying about the horses isn’t everyone’s thing. IT was always a great day when my worry lessened. It gets stressful when you love them so much. I have lost horses even with my vet there daily due to impaction.
Words while insufficient are all we have--you gave Skeletor the very best life and the very best passage to the next. Hope all the other horses remain in good health. You knew you were going to keep Ziggy. I think the 2 of you are developing a special bond. Hugs from TN.

The more we have invested love, money and worrying into our rescued animals, the harder it is to say goodbye. Stay strong and know you made a positive difference for a poor horse.
When I watched your short and realized Skelly was moving on; my first thought was of him tossing the ball and being sassy... He had so much fun with that ball. A wonderful visual to have. You were blessed and meant to have had each other in your lives.
