I'm a girlscout and I learned this at camp. I went all the way through from Daisy to Seniors. Some of my best memories come from my experiences at Girl Scouts.

Me too!!! Especially when it mentions "we can find more meaning in a campfire's glow." That gets me every time. Though so does "I've tucked away a song or two, when you're feeling down there's one for you. If you need a friend then I will come and there's so many more where I come from." I have one of my counselors from Girl Scout Camp Tattapanum (Dighton, MA) on my Facebook friend list.. I met her when I was 11.. By the way, I'm 64 now. Girl Scouts and particularly camp saved my life growing up.

I heard it for the first time at WSJ 2019 in West Virginia. I only heard parts of the song back then. So I googled the lyrics I heard and now I found it. I can't find it on spotify, so that is a shame, but I got it here on YT so that is really nice. I am a scout from Sweden but I love the lyrics and if you think about scouting when you sing it, it makes perfect sense. Love from Sweden.
My favorite is walk on Laurel camper (it's laurel bc I go to camp Laurel, but it's changeable so it is sung at many gs camps) we sing it at closing campfire sometimes

I’m in GirlGuiding in the UK and we used to sing this in guides and I started my girl guiding journey just before my 7th birthday. Me was a brownie then a guide and in senior section which was for girls aged 14-25 years but as I just turned 25 I just had to leave I went to my last one this week. But now me help out at rainbows every week (5-7 years) and Brownies (7-10 years). I love this song so much. But our version changes a bit ours say we made a promise to always keep and we sing day is done before we sleep we be girl guides together and when we done we’ll still be singing this song. IM. Passionate about girl guiding I would go every day if I could.

lil vs trey it’s different when it comes to states then Canada generally Sometimes songs go the same but most of Time they are sung differently And Canada sometimes even switches lyrics to fit girl guides but this says Girl Scouts so it isn’t Canadian
I don't see why this song should only be a girl's scout song. I first heard this at Scout Camp and it's one of my favorite songs. I think it perfectly captures the point of both groups.
