I should have said - off camera, whilst the bull was still in the crush the farmer administered strong pain killers and anti inflammatory drugs to help the bull with his foot - those drugs would also help massively with his other issue
People that say you’ve put on weight are just mean you body is your business not there’s

Maybe he's one of those bulls who has a weird reaction to pain killers. Maybe that's why he was having trouble standing? If he's still on them, he may just be having happy dreams and doesn't want to walk around.
As you can tell, I'm trying to look on the bright side!
Please just keep us updated, that's all you can do and all we can ask for. No one blames you I hope you know that. Hoof trimming is your livelihood and we know you do your best for every animal.
P.s. absolutely love all the music you use. Who chooses it and where from?
I don’t know what kind of painkillers the bull was given, but some can cause drowsiness as well as pain relief. Perhaps there’s a bit of that going on.
Does anyone else just sit here and watch videos like this at like 4 in the morning
Just saw your comment and it's 4:03am right now hahaha
Yes, lots of people that have problems sleeping are up watching you in the middle of the night. I watch most nights and I am fascinated with your program.
Can't stop, then miss my alarm in the morning lol

I have a big crush on the hoof GP. He is married, lives 4000 miles away and I am older than his great grandmother so, he is safe. :-) Bless his heart. He brings me joy.
Lol, me too! He is an absolute doll! And so darn kind!

He is very cute.
Did the Bull die?😢
@@flaviaa.9620 I'm sitting here at 12:35 am wondering the same thing.
I was horrified to see the condition of the bulls foot but then relieved to know you were the one the farmer called. The care you show towards all the animals you trim is awesome. This bull has a long road to go before his hoof is healed and the trouble he had for being in the crush so long showed all of us the reason you work so quickly. Thank you for going back to check on him so often, it only proves how much you care about all the animals entrusted to you.
As my grandmother taught me: Some days are diamond, some days are stone. We look for the memories in diamond days and look for the lessons in stone days. Sometimes a day is both, and that's okay.
I don't comment on videos much but you have such genuine care for these animals that I had to share, for whatever it's worth, this little grain of wisdom that's helped me.
More like some days are dung, some days are dung with some rainbow ice cream sprinkles on it.
I've never heard that before but how true.
Agreed. I always tell my kids "it can't be sunny everyday, sometimes it has to rain". You just got to take the bad days and make the best of it, even if it becomes just a learning experience.
Like that there. Your grandsmothers words has reached a stranger ✊🏾
Like the Song from John Denver: Some days are diamonds, some days are stone. You need shadows in your life to appreciate the days full of sun.
That's farming, it's not always rainbows and sunshine. Sometimes the clouds and storms roll in. I'm grateful you showed me this and hopefully everyone else understands. Hopefully the big lad makes a full recovery!
you have the heart and soul of a poet my friend. An absolutely illustrious one at that
Ha, the joke's on you - I farm Skittles.
It's rainbows every day.
This comment section made me smile and laugh out loud. I hope you're all having a wonderful day.
Marc I so free with you! What a golden heart he has!

Thank you for not editing the video and showing us what that poor big guy had to endure. It’s a great learning experience and some harsh reality that some need to experience. I hope he was able to heal from his wound and is doing well.
It pains me to see your reaction, let alone the bulls injury. It’s clear you care deeply for the animals you care for. Thank you for being a wonderful person.
He looked on the verge of tears while the bull was struggling to stand😢
My sentiments exactly. He clearly cares genuinely for the animals in his care.
You're a wonderful human being. Thank you for taking such good care of these innocent creatures.

The bull was died
I am glad the farmer despite being organic, was very quick to run to the vet so quickly and get what the bull needed. Thanks for showing us all the details as it gives us a full scope of cattle care. The good and the bad.
And aa
What organic farmers are against is the routine spiking of food with antibiotics, which is what large scale farms do. They give it whether or not the animal actually needs it. farmers like this guy have no problem getting the help they need for animals when they get sick though.
@@SammyDean-kt9nx 0
Antibiotics are completely organic
Antibiotics are used in organic as for treatment. The “no antibiotics” thing is because farmers will just feed antibiotics to livestock to make them grow bigger. But for medical treatment it’s fine.
This is why I love your videos. They always feel honest. Not every day is a good day, but your work is helping animals, and that is why every day still is a good day in some way. You can't save them all, and because the bull had been such trouble before, it was common sense to leave him in the crush while waiting. This time it went wrong, the other twohundred times it has been fine.
I love how much you really care about these animals. The fact that it hurts you when they are in pain says so much. Hoping the big guy recovers quickly ❤
I dont know how you popped up on my phone, but i love watching you, Graeme!! And your crew
You are NOT fat. You're a hunk. Your care of the cows and bulls you trim is wonderful to watch. I never even thought about cow's feet until you. Keep on keeping on😅😂
In my untrained eyes, he went from not even wanting to touch the ground with that one foot to standing on all four feet. That's a great improvement.
Graham you might not see this but you’ve been helping me a lot recently with depression issues. I love your positivity and the mindset you have. Thank you for what you do
Thank you for not falling to the pressure society puts on people, you will get better keep on partner! 🤠
Good for you Michael. Keep fighting the good fight. You're not on your own.
I struggle with depression and anxiety, I was doing OK with my anxiety, my main anxiety issue was going out, I was going out into my local town center once a week, I had got to that point on my own as the mental health services were rubbish and I felt it was pointless having their "help", and then we went into lockdown and I said a few times that lockdown was basically my life! But when we could go out again, I was back at square 1, I didn't want to leave the house, and going out alone, that was a huge no-no!
But, using the same method I used before, I'm now going into town every 2 weeks, which I have only just started doing this week! And I hate to admit it, but I went with my Son and not on my own, but I left the house and I feel that that is the more important part!
I feel the same way, I lost my husband of 30 years last month and these videos help lift my spirits
Michael
Your not alone. Literal sunshine and fresh air are 2 major important medicines that you can take. Not sure about civil in your area..but mountain passes helped me. Be safe be well I'm pulling4 u.

His empathy for every living creature brings tears to my eyes. Seeing so much love brings me hope especially in light of being in the US and seeing our representatives being so crazy as trying to pick fights.
He certainly does Renda
The look he gave you, in that little field, when you went back to check on him, was like, "If I could run, you'd be a dead man." I've watched several of your videos, and you seem to genuinely care about these animals, and that's all that matters.
Remember that you aren’t a vet and you have stated yourself many times, there is only so much you are able to do for them. I have watched enough of your videos to know you care deeply about each cow, bull, heck even that calf you had to work on.
You do the best you can, that is all anyone can ask
I know he does great work, but, some of those cows look awful honey. Do they get just a regulated amount of good?
I never knew that leaving a cow in a crush for 10 min would do that now I understand why you do your job right but ALWAYS try to get them out quick. Love the transparency Graeme and how u go out of ur way for the betterment of the cow/bulls🐃🐂❤️❤️🐂🐃
It wasn't 10 minutes, there was a lot edited out.
@11:30 He says the bull was in the crush for about 10min.
The real issue isn't leaving a cow in the crush but that the bull was pushing and pinching it's nerve against the crush trying to get away.

Sharing the bad with the good makes sense, it adds to your authenticity. You are not doing a show, you are working and caring for animals. We love you for it, and your concern for a lame bull, with a horrific injury, is so amazing! Thank you for sharing, I really enjoy watching what you do. Some of us have been around live stock, I worked at the state fair and in several stables growing up so its a flash back to a past. You are much kinder then many I saw, when I had a horse I was very particular about who my Farrier was!

You can see in your eyes the compassion for the bull! What you do is such a labor of love! I'm so glad that you return to check on him!
I remember a few months ago, replying to a comment from someone who had a background in veterinary nursing, but not in farming. They gave it all a good song and dance about cleaning the cows' feet, keeping things sterile. Myself and others tried to tell them it was impossible and impractical in a farm setting; both because of a cow's general lack of cleanliness and also because the aim was to get them out of the crush as fast as possible. But they weren't really having it. As far as they were concerned, when they were immobilised in the crush, you could take the time to clean off the cows' feet before you start work.
I hope that person has watched this video. Because THIS is what we were trying to tell her at the time.
Good on you, Graeme. There are a lot of people nowadays that get very offended by reality. You never want it to happen, but unforeseen circumstances and - heaven forbid - accidents do happen. I respect you a hell of a lot more than I already did anyway for being brave enough to show us the bad, as well as the good. It makes things that much more real and relatable. Fingers crossed this mardy moo ends up feeling better. :)
Very well said
This has the same energy as a yt vid of a woman who had a dog with a large bump of fluid. The woman was a rn or nurse practitioner. So instead of taking it to a vet, She took a syringe to suck out the liquid but when she emptied the contents, she would stick the dog with the same needle about three times before changing it.
Hi Graeme love your videos how is the big guy doing now?🌹
Fantastic guy to show the good and the bad
@@katara_grayson I’ve seen that video. The dog had been to a vert and was okay with her treating the dog by removing the fluid herself . So should she have used a needle Everytime? I don’t know. I think a much larger syringe would have been better she wouldn’t have had to stick the dog so many times.
I never knew there was such a thing as hoof trimming (city kid here) I'm 72 years old and am impressed with your genuine concern for each animal. Cows are part of our cycle of life. You treat them with respect. If I had a herd, I'd want to care for them. Nice job young man. All the way from the state of Florida, USA.
Welcome to the herd! We're mostly urban dwellers, but here we are. Some of us have acquired quite decent theoretical hoof-trimming knowledge. If ever hoof-trimming came up as a trivia category at the local pub's Tuesday Trivia, give one of us a bell.
Totally agree
I was born and spent 26 years of my life in a poor part of south London on a council estate- the equivalent of the ‘projects’ I guess - I spent 16 of those years working on various farms and horse barns, foraging, doing bushcraft etc
I love your care and concern.
I have viewed this video 3 times over the last year and appreciate your caring for all of the cows and updating us, too. Hope by now the bull is fully recovered and back to his full time job!
I didn't see any of the bull any better. No 2 week update?

What you’re doing is pure, honest, difficult work and you deserve all of the rewards that come from it.
Your compassion is endearing and serves to remind us the harsh truth of life. It is necessary to be reminded sometimes that we are stewards of animals, not to have dominion over them but to hold their care as important as our own. We do what we can with what we have. ❤
Having grown-up with livestock, sometimes this is the harsh reality and I commend Graham for his honesty
This was rough to watch, but I’m so glad that you shared it. I’ve heard you talk about wanting them in and out of the crush as quickly as possible before, and this really helps solidify why that is so important.
You are so endearing! The way you care for all the cows and bulls (even the ones with attitude) warms my little heart. I'm so glad I found you on Tiktok because now I settle down after work and watch these videos to chill to! Keep doing what you're doing. Did you not Watch until the end where he went back to check on the bull??
he is talking about the hoof cap not the crushed nerve@@lesliechapman6040
By you asking that question tells me you didn't watch until the end. I get it lol i had to forward through some of this one myself. He put in the comments that off camera, the farmer administered strong painkillers and anti inflammatory medicine.
Basically the bull went down like he did because of being in the crush so long. It has belly bands that holds the cow or bull up and supports their weight. That's how they're able to raise 2 or more hooves at the same time. The cow/bull tend to get lazy and just let the bands completely support them. Plus this one was trying to get away and was pressing on nerves as they were waiting for the farmer to get back from the vet with his medication. So he was in the crush way longer than he should have been.
So basically when he tried to walk out his legs were asleep. Just like us when we sit one way too long and try to get up and it's oh NO. Oh NO this ain't working out too good lol. But he did go back later and check on the bull and he was no longer in the hospital pen. He was in the pasture eating grass with the cows and while not completely healed, Graham said he had made a mass improvement
I'm glad someone makes this kind of video and it shows what and how many different people/skill sets it takes to properly care for these animals. It is one of the saddest footage of cattle, it is truly heartbreaking to see an animal in those conditions. Thanks for your sensitivity, GP, if updates are possible, good luck and thanks.
I wondered if he hadn’t already overstrained the front left by bearing more weight on it to keep his injured hind right off the ground. He has a lot of muscle/weight over his shoulders, so leaning away from the pain for months may have been more than his tendons/ligaments could handle when stepping down after being overlong in the crush. All my hopes and well wishes that he recovers. He’s a very handsome fellow, and crankiness is understandable.
Poor lil guy. Happy his owner was able to get him some relief. There is nothing like the green, green grass and some sun on your back to make things feel better! Love your videos by the way!
It’s heartbreaking to see such a big, strong animal literally brought to his knees in pain. 💔 Even though it wasn’t your fault, I can only imagine how awful you must have felt. It’s good that you didn’t edit that out because it’s a risk you take every day and the reality is that some days just go well.
You can clearly see how much Graeme cares for the cows and bulls he treats. It’s good to see the hard/bad things as well as the good things. Keep up the good work Graeme!
You and Sandi Brock are the only ones that I have to watch as soon as the notification bell rings. You do cows hoof. And she raises sheep. I really love watching you both. You have a great day and I pray that God blesses you and your family. And that he keeps you safe.
Hey, another one here watching Sandi aswell!
U really love ANIMALS.
They need all the loving support they can get from humans. We are all they have to make em' feel better. I watch U, and the sheep lady, and Dr. Pol.
All caring loving ppl that
realize their animal are making em' $$$ and they are there for them. I love animals too, and I enjoy the actions y'all take to make ur animal feel good.
Thanks
We are with you thru the rough times as well as the good times!
I will love to meet the person who takes care of you after a hectic day. You are truly an angel 🇳🇬
Mr. Parker, yours is a brilliant heart of compassion and kindness and honesty; qualities of humanity our race is in desperate need of in trying times. Were I a rich man, I'd fly to Scotland just to buy you and Craig a round of beer to thank you for all the hard work you put not just into your job, but your videos also.
I would bring coffee. !
I’m glad you leave it all in. Thank you. It helps us have a good sense of what this looks like when it happens. Words sometimes don’t and can’t paint the picture of reality like a visual. So thank you
Your compassion is admirable Graham. Shows your strength of character.
Please add music titles- would love to add to my library of music.
I love your Chanel, I'm a city girl from Montreal Canada and I don't get to be around farm animals, dogs, cats birds but I really appreciate your compassion towards these beautiful animals, keep it up! Love the accent😊
I really hope that the infection didn't make him septic. Looking forward to an update. Praying for the best 🙏 💖💖💖
It’s so nice to see someone who genuinely cares about their work and the animals they care for. I hope he makes a full recovery
You’re a great guy! Upright and kind hearted. Good to know you’re out there helping these vulnerable animals.
Bless you and thank you for caring so much for the animals you treat. You clearly have a profound connection to the animals you care for. I grew up on a dairy farm and the farmer who cared for his cows was very kind to his animals. So I can see it.
My heart breaks For that poor boy! Sending all my prayers that he recovers.
Meat.
By the glory of Satan
Perhaps, Zak but not without a good fight first.
Unfortunately if he can't do his purpose (servicing cows) then he's of no use & just costing money & time. I know this sounds harsh but it is reality. I personally hope he can recover but I won't hold my breath.
He's a big beautiful boy. He's strong and feisty; That can help. You're giving him a chance. That's more than he would have had otherwise. No matter what though, it WAS a good day. You helped him get relief from the pain and THAT, kind Sir, IS a BLESSING!
Prayers for Mr. Blackstone the Bull for complete healing and a long happy life, Prayers for you as well Graeme and your beautiful heart. Never stop being the incredible man your beautiful wife and children love!
You definitely care so much for these animals. The fact that you came back again to check on the bull was a tribute to your character. Thanks for the videos. I’m in WA. State and have friends who own dairy farms. Love to visit but was never aware of the care for their hooves. Just amazing what you guys do for them.👍😊
I've been watching several of these videos and this video had tears welling up in my eyes. Watching him go down after he came out of the crush. Hope he's getting better.
Aww, that poor guy. 😢 I'm glad he has caretakers that work so hard for him and feel so deeply for his pain. Please update us on his progress.
I'm glad you did show this. It shows how much you care for them.
