I would just like to make an observation about Kevin. Since his return from surgery, his face looks at least 10 years younger than when he first started appearing in the videos regularly. As a person who lives with chronic back pain, I never cease to be amazed by how much pain can affect a person’s appearance. The level of pain which he was living with prior to the surgery must have been next level. And he probably didn’t even realize it until after he had the surgery. So God Bless to the surgeon who was able to correct Kevin’s medical condition as well as any other person who facilitated that surgery. So glad you’re on the road to recovery!

Having had a whole load of abscesses, including, but certainly not limited to, one on the root of a tooth (unbeknownst to the dentist who was drilling into it to repair a cracked tooth. Despite a ton of local anaesthetic, it put me through the roof! Had to have strong antibiotics before I could go back!); a potentially lethal one on the top of my leg (in hospital for an op less than a week before taking the kids on holiday.); and almost as gruesome as the tooth one - which after me biting down hard "exploded" into my mouth 🤢- was one inside my eyelid. It was there for a few years! Eventually I was casually rubbing my eye when the right half of my eye turned a creamy colour...
I get how painful or just how annoying the damned things are. Whenever I see one pop on this channel, I breathe a huge sigh of relief. The cow may still be a bit sore for a while, but that's exponentially better than having to put much of your weight on a "full" abscess. I'm sure they're given antibiotics afterwards to make sure that all the bacteria are gone, but it's that initial pop which makes all the difference!

My cat has an abscess from infection by her anal gland rn, and she did such a good job of carefully but consistently licking it that she actually drained it herself and immediately clearly got HUGE relief from that. I’m having to monitor its healing on vet orders and the sight makes me want to hurl because I’m seeing stuff that should be covered by skin, but coincidentally I came across these videos, which … make me feel queasy but less so, almost like practice? It’s not quite like her abscess, I’m pretty sure I can literally see either lower layers of skin or muscle there, but the mild gore and pus here delicately being cared for feels like it might help me acclimatize a little!

Hi, great and informative 'video as per usual. Glad to see Kevin fully recovered from his back surgery and you have your full team working in harmony, not being sarcastic ha ha. Hope the poor girl's foot is better soon, it was heart breaking to see her limping off hardly daring to put her foot down 😪. Continue enjoy working the best job in the best part of the country. Have a great week.

It never clicked for me that the Appleton was still in the shop all this time. Crazy how much damage something as simple as tipping over can do to something that looks as imposing and solid as that machine.

I know you would have not thought your channel would take off the way it has. I remember that old crush you had and when you went to America to place an order for your crush it seems so long ago now. Well done I am so pleased for you and for showing the public just how much work goes into farm animals, they don't just live in a field they need lots of care like you going and taking such great care of their feet along with the stockman or women that do such a great job they know each animal and if they're off in some small way there on it fast.

Watching this late at night, I began to wonder , do they make crushes for cats? I know Im getting off subject, but my cat is watching this with me (yes, he had always dreamed of being a barn cat, we all have our dreams) and last time I tried to be trim his nails, let's just say, I barely escaped with all my limbs intact. Anyway, just a bit of musing, Phineas says hello and you did a great job, as usual. Phin is thinking of taking your course - he doesnt understand he needs thumbs. Now we are off to watch some lambing - my favorite time of year (the sheep game, of course). Thanks for your entertaining and informative videos. We love them 😊

    • @ettinakitten5047

Closest thing I've seen is a squeeze cage. Basically it's a cage with a sliding wall that you can push in to trap the cat - vets use them when working with exotic big cats like tigers to keep them still for a needle. But it wouldn't be easy to clip their nails in a setup like that. Personally, what I've found works best is to break up the trim - mid-snuggle, I grab their paw and clip one or two nails and then go back to the snuggle, and wait hours or days to clip the next couple nails.
