I was not a Parramatta supporter in my youth, but the magical class and superior talent of Brett Kenny, had me secretly cheering for the great Parramatta machine. The sooner Brett Kenny is made an immortal, the better. His style was smooth and poetic. The results were devastating for the opposition, up there on the scoreboard.
There should be a Royal Commission into the fact Brett isn't an Immortal. 17 Test matches. Only one loss. 2 Kangaroo tours, no losses 5 Grand Finals. 4 wins, two tries in three of them. Clive Churchill medal in two of them 17 State of Origin matches 12 at 5/8 for eight wins. The Great Wally said "Brett was the best he played with Or against, daylight was second"
Agree 100%. He also had two disallowed tries in the try-less 86 GF. His vision, step, speed, will to win and tackling ability should, along with his record, propel him to Immortal status…but sadly he’s not a Queenslander which seems to count more than anything. He’d beat all the current immortals thru his vision, step and speed anytime…made Lewis look like a Wally.
Absolute superstar, one of the most balanced runners I have ever seen, had it all, step, brilliant passing and hands, almost like he was dancing out there, and not a 'brick with eyes' either like a lot of current players but lean and very fast.
I saw his entire career and would rate him as one of the best individual players I have ever seen go around. He had a freakish ability to anticipate the best thing to do in a specific situation.
Blimey, how many intercept tries did Brett Kenny pull off? Must have been hundreds throughout his career. A man of blistering place. Amazing swerve, he swerved like a bird or a fighter jet-plane. I think that's the moat accurate way of describing Brett's blistering running style.......hs swerved like a jet-fighter. Finally, the bloke could tackle. He was a very good tackler, in fact. A truly phenomenonal ornament to the game of rugby-league, and NO, I'm not a Parramatta fan. But I can recognise quality when I see it
👍👍👍👍👍👍 😊 Excellent video. Take me back to the 80s. Thank God I lived through these years. I enjoy all eras of rugby league, but the best seasons were these seasons/years. 😊
Should already be an Immortal. I grew up with league and Kenny was my favourite player. I followed union later on and he would have been a beast at inside centre for the Wallabies, outside Mark Ella.
I played for Guildford leagues in the 70s. Brett played for Guildford at the same time but was a couple of years older than me. I used to love watching him play and also when he went to parramatta. I’m a dragons fan but I loved watching Parra play too back then. St George v Parra in the late 70s . Great stuff. Parra through the early 80s were a great team.
About 1977 I played a game between a couple of local high schools, I was halfback and Brett was five eighth in the opposing team, they would throw him the ball and he could kick it and land it on a 10 cent piece. A game winner in those days. A few months later ( I think) we played against Patrician Brothers Fairfield, Peter Sterling was my opposite halfback, well yes you know their names not mine, unbelievable natural talent both of them.
The game he scores against GB was my first live game of RL at Wigan. Was amazed how much better the Aussies were better than us. Later I realised they cheated ! I mean come on, Sterling and Kenny as half backs, thats not fair 😂. Couldnt believe we had him playing for Wigan a couple of years later. That Wembley final, no words for it. Had some great players at Wigan since them, have to say Brett along with Ellery Hanley is the best I've ever seen.👏👏
He backs his reflexes in those intercepts and they must have been amazing! And that dummy! Not to mention his soft hands. He must be in the next induction of immortals. With Ray Price. No, I’m not a Parra supporter.
Yeah well, I reckoned Snoz O'Connor and Brett Kenny shoulda been "Immortals". AND I still believe Kenny was a better 5/8th than Wally!!! (But no one agrees with me)
Sterlo and Kenny should be immortals, Kennys defence rarely gets a mention because his attack is amazing, but if you watch him closely his defence is incredible he rarely ever got beaten, if ever

Brett Kenny must qualify as an Immortal. He was magician

Definitely immortal. You have Sterling. You have to have Kenny. Nothing around as good as this guy these days. Unbeleivable.
Thanks so much for this compilation of the brilliant Brett Kenny, I’ve been waiting for it for years.
I saw his entire career and would rate him as one of the best individual players I have ever seen go around. He had a freakish ability to anticipate the best thing to do in a specific situation.
His passing and cover defense were no less amazing than his other skills. Immortal every day of the week

Brett Kenny was 20-30 years ahead of his time.
He would have to be the best five-eight ever to grace a football field.
Brett Kenny was a thoroughbred, he made Wally Lewis look like a draughthorse
Great compilation for a guy who never saw him live! More please!
FYI saw him LIve a few times
The best video on the UA-cams.
Best player the game has ever seen
He was beyond freakish. The nick kyrgios of rugby league. Made everything look so easy you'd think he was bored doing it.
He was amazing - so electric on his feet!
unbelievable player, the proof is in the footage, GENIUS
The first Australian to win the Lance Todd Trophy
Wow, that package just shows he had it all. What a player. If this immortal thing if fair dinkum he surely has to be there.
Better than Lewis.
Dummied and stepped Wally Lewis like he was a statue.
Beautiful to watch.
Best 5/8 I have ever seen.
Unbelievable natural talent. I could watch him play all day, every day. Exquisite vision & skill. This man has to be/will be an NRL immortal.
Genius ..idol
Brett Kenny was part of the 1977 Australian Schoolboys tour
Brett Kenny could have made the 1990 Kangaroos Tour as he was 29 at the time
He backs his reflexes in those intercepts and they must have been amazing! And that dummy! Not to mention his soft hands. He must be in the next induction of immortals. With Ray Price. No, I’m not a Parra supporter.

MY IDOL NOTHING MORE TO SAY 😃👍
IMMOTRAL
Damn. Forgot how good that guy was.
Kenny is the GOAT
Look how skinny he was, no weights. Just a natural.
How is Kenny not an immortal ????
BRETT KENNY is where Eeeeeelectric came from. I was there
This is rugby league pornography!
masterful player should be an immortal long ago finest big match player I have seen in 50 years of watching league . God bless you Brett 🙏✝️👍💪
He was better than Lewis.
Not a parra fan.
B7t this is far more entertaining than modern footy
