In this video, I have talked about Masters in Physiotherapy programs in Canada.
There are only 15 physical therapy programs which provide Masters In Physiotherapy degree in Canada (10 English, 5 French).
I have talked about a few of their academic (GPA and IELTS/TOEFL ) and non-academic requirements (mainly PR) along with their tuitions rates- as much as I could understand.
I have done my Masters in Exercise Science from the USA and hence I did not know much about Canadian MPT programs.
I have talked about my opinions regarding these programs and I urge you to read the program details and make your decisions wisely.

maam i connected with university of alberta for there MScPT program & i told them that i am in my final year of 4 year bachelor of Physiotherapy program & i am from india. I am looking forward for this program. They replied that i u have a 4 years bachelors degree u don't need to get into our program u can jst give your exam, our program is for those people how had there bio major in bachelors & aren't eligible for PCE.
Masters in health / rehab science is research based. 2 year program, its just research related courses and not speaciailisation. Good for international PTs who completed their bachelor degree. The name MSc PT ( manual therapy) are offered by some universities for physio graduates ( requirements are different, may need a mentor and PT liscence??) . MPT is an entry level course only for Canadian PR holders and citizens . Not for international students. You would not want to study 2yrs MPT entry level course after studying 4yrs entry level BPT.
Physiotherapy some realities
1)Major portion of physiotherapy graduates dont have job or working with very less salery many physiotherapist left the field for lively hood
2)5060 physiotherapy graduates passed out each year in south India itself. 200 beded hospital only need 2 physiotherapist . Students passed out previas years remains hear as jobless how many hospitals should be there to accomodate this huge number
3)Job opertunities abroad also reducing substatialy each year, physiotherapist who migrated to US UK Caneda Australia works in supermarket Hotels petrol pumb etc.Many gulf countries now appoints employes who are natives of that country
4)Many hospitals now converting their physiotherapy department to Physical medicine and rehabilitation (PMR)HOD will be physiatrist (MBBS DPMR )role of a physiotherapist in this department is just a helper
5)Since there is no regulatory authority for physiotherapy in India somany unautherised practices (quakery)going on in this field This also reduces job opertunities
6)Now a days new threat also there... Bvok physiotherapy that is common in normal arts collage only 3 years, course. Hospitals appoint these people with less salary
7)Running own clinic need huge investment no patients approach physiotherapist directly reference from medical doctors is a must usualy they give pain killers to patient or ask commission for each reference. Majority of clinics closed already or in loss
8)"Physiotherapists are called as doctors "" these are only just canvasing words of agents during admision. In practical sence none of the hospitals, gov bodies allow this
9) If a person join BPT who are the benificiaries. Career guidance people who took admission will get commission. Collage authorities will get donation fees fine etc in huge amount after struggling 4 & half years. Private hospitals will appoint him as a trainee (slave)with out salary and charge him thousands for experience cirtificate after some years this physiotherapist will quit physiotherapy field for livelihood

Pooja can you please tell me if I complete my DPT and come to Canada after that ....and start applying for PSE...and once I am done with it do i have to do some courses again to be a Dr ....please reply ...and all that GPA stuff would still be required if I have completed my DPT from my country and clear the PCE in Canada......

There is no bpt in canada. So, you can have kynesiology or undergrad in science that fulfil your prerequisites for mpt.

Maam, I'm a new PR holder in Manitoba and a licensed physiotherapist (Tunisia &/Qatar), I have done IELTS +WES (Canadian equivalence: bachelor's degree)
However, in my country I studied only 3 years to get my bachelor's degree..
1- Will that be a problem in my CREDENTIALS with CAPR..??

First thing do little more research for MPT courses and universities.
To Practice as PT you need to clear PCE even you do your MPT.
GPA requirements are too high..😭

@@ShivamSingh-sy5gq you need to connect on facebook groups and instagram. Regularly some physiotherapists keep workshop in different cities. They are licensed to conduct such workshops and are registered. Before taking any course make sure you are "certified to practice" after you do it and it is not just a simple certificate course. These two terms are different. Now because of covid not many people are conducting workshops for dry needling and all. Ask your professors or seniors they might help you because i dont know what area you live in.

Honestly this is why i shifted towards UK. After doing all the research i came to conclude that if we want to masters in canada we cannot do in physiotherapy, we'll have to do something else. :( Its so sad. I really don't know what to do anymore
