Welcome to Jamesgang creative. I'm Gary James and have always loved shooting video, editing, matching music. I started doing this with an 8mm Yamaha film movie camera; went to college, got a degree in broadcasting and film making, leared to edit on a movieola.
My experience includes shooting live musical theatre and stage performances, promotional and educational videos, and videos for social media (such as UA-cam), promotion and publicity. Most of the video here is for marketing and branding.
I've used everything from the 8mm as a kid and 16mm in college; an RCA VCR camcorder; a Sony Handicam Digital8; Canon HD HF520; a Canon Vixia HF R72; and of course, a iPhone. Due to copyright and Equity rules I do not post the theatrical performances; and only clips. The productions I have shot are created for directors and theatre owners for their own archives.
Thanks for visiting!

Barney's 50th birthday, at the Sarasota Polo Club, February 5, 1995

A party for B.G. Fitzgerald on his 50th birthday, February 5, 1995. I shot the video using a VHS RCA camcorder using only the microphone built in. (The one where you put a VHS inside the camcorder!). So, my apologies that the sound isn't the greatest. Here's how Drew Morris (M.C) recalls the events leading up to the party: Because Barney's father died before his 50th birthday, turning 50 was an...
Massacred Melodies, License to Bash, Florida Studio Cabaret, 1997

A parody number, from License to Bash, Sarasota, 1997. And remember, this is comedy from 26 yrs ago ... and there are words and references that have changed during that quarter century and are outdated. This was run through ROXIO to capture an analog VHS and rework to Digital. Enhancement through iMovie.

Tom Kelly performs parody number, License to Bash, March 27, 1997 at Florida Studio Theatre. There was a controversy about a gambling boat that was being considered for operation off the gulf coast of Venice, FL. So "Viva, Las Venice" has references to parking on the beach, Mote Marine, sharks, All you can Eat buffets, which were plentiful at the time, The Harbor restaurant and a host of other ...
Sarasota Square Mall reopening c.1989 - Sarasota, FL

A :30 commercial for reopening of Sarasota Square Mall. I found a Wiki article mentioning the "food court" remodeling in 1986. This is from an article "The Mall Hall of Fame": - In October 1986, a 15 million dollar enlargement of the mall was announced. Forty new stores were to be added in an East Wing. The existing Food Court would also be doubled in size. A 2-level (110,000 square foot), Birm...
AntiWar Rally February 2003

It is August 2021. The U.S. is pulling out of Afghanistan. This is for all the armchair experts and Republicans with very short memories calling for Biden's impeachment. We marched against the illegal IRAQ invasion when Bush & Cheney already had us in Afghanistan. Sorry for the quality, but iPhones wouldn't be invented for another 4 years.

We had just returned home (by car) and saw the bears crossing the neighbors driveway. I shot thru the garage windows. They were having a great romp. #Asheville #Ashevillebears
2020 Winter Lights Arboretum - Asheville, NC

Due to COVID 19, The North Carolina Arboretum Winter Light show was drive thru this year. It was wonderful. We didn't listen to the radio station you could tune to for holiday music, but opted to listen to Mozart. This was a great effort and the show ran from November thru January 10, 2021. Visit the NC Arboretum's website for more information.

It definitely sounds like the announcer says “Fubar D. Robot,” but the poster in the shot when he says it at 0:17 says “Foobie D. Robot.” Edit: According to one of the links in your description, ‟Foobie” is a diminutive of “Fubar.” :-)
Yeah, the announcer probably got it wrong.
@@Jamesgangcreative No it was my mistake-both are correct, according to the article in the link. But thanks :-)
Our tradition from 1997....I filmed their outrageous melody and it’s still so funny, especially if you ever had Christmas in Florida. And, of course, we all contributed props. On of the stockings is hanging on the mantle as we speak.
Here is a link to a site that realized this concept. https:thetylt.com
Love it!
Nice Liisa and John, maybe you can even teach Scott to cook!
You make it look so easy! Class Act.
+Joan La Spina It is easy! Especially the Salmon. Popped in the oven, 9-11 minutes at 425. And it was perfect! I'd say the most difficult thing is the creme brulee because of the steps...
Great job Gary!
