Here I am 4 years later, Victory out of business, and looking at every video I can find of one, they just appeal to me. But what I have to say is that was the most entertaining review I've seen and heard!! Laughed my ass off. Hope you are well, 4 years later.

Any bike that makes you giggle and have a huge smile on your face for the entire ride is alright in my book! That was a fun video, those bars are crazy!

I have a 2014 Highball with a fuel mod and a few other things (bought it like that). The changes they made put it where I needed to get around town, anything different I might as well be unhappy riding my harley sporster again, but got dang I'll tell you.... that suspension is so much better, the sound, the feel, etc. It was a great step away from a sporster for me.

I bought one 4 months ago. What a blast to ride! Don’t know about the scooter thing. This bike is big, mean beast. I moved up from a Honda Shadow 600 cc to a Honda Shadow 750 cc to a Victory Highball 1731 cc.
The torque is unreal! Take care and ride safe.

Ok, I've finally stopped laughing after that "ass pounding" comment. Haha.
But seriously, the sheer enjoyment that was coming across in you voice had me wanting to get on one of these bikes. I love the growl of that engine. I'm not sure about the apes but I'd be happy to give it a try.
    Great review bud, I'm sold!

Thanks my friend. It was a surprising experience to say the least. I was not expecting the fun factor to be off the charts. I had a blast!
      Now about that a$$ pounding...😂

Yep, right on target. I love this motorcycle. So much so that I bought a 2016. It is without exception the best handling bike I've ever thrown a leg over. It looks "Old-School" but performance is off the chart, even stock. Mind you it is not a crotch-rocket but every time an HD owner pulls up along side, I get the look! LOL! The look says not a HD. LOL We both twist the wick - and well, the HD is in the rear. This bike has looks, handling, torque, top end speed, comfort, reliability and as you stated a very short wheel base and a PERFECT C.G. You could ride this thing across country, if you outfitted it with "STUFF", but WHY? In my opinion it would detract from the "Bar Hopper" look. In short I love everything about this MC. I'm sorry that Victory has gone by the way-side, BUT I also believe that this Make will be a collectors item in the very near future. So if you own a Vic, take great care to keep it in good condition.....they will be sought after in the very near future. Thanks SoopaBEE your excitement and enthusiasm is EXACTLY what I feel every time I "scooter" around town and take trips across the landscape. Good on ya bro. Thanks for the vid.!

I love the insight and comparison to scooters..... I haven't heard anyone talk about a bike for transitioning riders, that is a really great line of thought you went down!!!

    • @SoopaBee
      @SoopaBee  7 років тому +1

Thanks Andy! I really didn't think too deeply about it all. I just thought that it kind of had that scooter-like handling to it and that it might be a way to bring some of our lower cc brothers and sisters into the fold!

Sorry. I know this video is very old. With that said, I've owned 2 Harleys. Both 1200 cc. One Nightster and one 72. I'm liking this bike and I'm on the fence about pulling the trigger. Is this a weird transition from my 2 others?

I feel like people that actually have very little experience or time on a motorcycle. Need to wait and get more experience under their belt before they start critiquing and telling the world about their views and opinions … when in reality, they have no idea what the hell they’re talking about….. this being an entry-level and a good transition from scooters and mopeds I believe is what you were comparing this to as a good transition seems like a completely insane comparison. These bikes can get down and dirty quickly I feel that they’re very nimble and really depends on the riders but reality if you’re going to transition from a moped or scooter don’t go from 59cc engine… all the way to a 1500 cc engine or better not really a good transition you already skipped Harley Davidson 70s 80s 90s on all their engine sizes for the most part… I’m just saying get the experience get to knowledge and understand what you’re actually doing before you go rent a motorcycle from your local shop and then decide that you’re a full on iron ass award winning not even weekend warrior…4 hour annoyer….

Great perspective on the bike! I almost bought one from Colorado Powersports, but decided to go with the 2016 Harley Street Bob. I didn't have a chance to ride the highball, but that's a different story for another day. Good work!

Loved the overall look man. I know what ya mean about the kick ass, that's a cruiser thang, I felt it all the time when on the old Dragstar, lol. Not sure about that screen though🤔 kinda takes away the grrrr factor, lol. Coolio sound, nice and throaty. I would be concerned about the arm circulation too, I'm crap when it comes to circulation. I can't even sit with my hands behind my head, which proved problematic at school when I was a kid, lol.
Tcrs bro, awesome review. Merry Crimbo ✊

I agree with you about the windscreen. I personally could've done without it. And unfortunately, I found out later that the pipes on this one were not stock. Victory had outfitted the bike with one of their upgrades...sure wish that they would've told me about all of the mods.

You said the stock pipes sounds better than the vegas. Those aren't stock pipes sadly. Stock pipes are what almost turned me away from buying this beast of a motorcycle. They sound like a pissed off lawnmower. I would recommend anyone to buy the High-Ball but the stock pipes need to go. Loved the review and your reaction reminds me alot of mine when I first hopped on it. Most people are turned off by the thought of ape hangers but the mini apes are very comfortable and even more so if you are taller, my arms or hands never go numb or uncomfortable even. This bike is a great price, easy to maintain, smoother ride, and had great performance. I am a Harley guy since birth and I'll admit they dont look as flashy or sound as great. But they rest of the package wins the edge over any Harley I've ridden. And to say this is a good bike to transition on from a scooter?? I would have to disagree with 1731cc's between your thighs. Loved this bike would love to see you make another video with it.

Connor, you are AWESOME! Thank you so much for chiming in. Your perspective as an owner is 100 times more valuable than my little 30 minutes on the bike. I appreciate you pointing out that the pipes on this demo machine weren't stock. Thank you for this. I don't know why Victory didn't at least tell us what mods they made on the bikes before letting us ride each one. Sure would've been nice. Like you, I was happily surprised with the High Ball and had such an unexpectedly positive experience. Great to hear that your hands never go numb or feel uncomfortable. And I admit, going from a zippy 49cc scooter to a +1700cc monster might be a bit of a leap! :-) Thanks again man. Ride safe out there.

      Connor Gerken,
I've been looking at buy a 2017 High-ball, but have not given it a test ride. The dealer doesn't not have the insurance to cover test rides and are offering $11,000 out the door. I'm 6 foot tall and just wonder what the bars would feel like.

Vegas ass pounding? Well. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas! :-p
I'd feel like I was going to fall off it with my hands up there. I'd be laughing the whole ride, just like you.
I want to see ARL riding something like this. See if you can gt him along to the next one! lol
