    It's been a year and this battery pack has officially stopped working :/
    All my other packs have been running much longer than this one. Just an FYI

      I'm thinking of getting the bigger foldable solar panels with no battery pack to charge it.. seems like the better option.

    Just a little bit of advice... because I'm familiar with solar power. If you are going to strap this thing to your backpack, try to do it in a way where ALL of the panels are exposed... the panels are wired in parallel so if one of the solar panels is in the shade/dark, it actually dampens the performance of the other panels... so, instead of getting what you would expect to be the full power of the three exposed panels, you are actually only getting the power of the total of the three panels, minus whatever dampening effect the third panel, in the shade, would produce... just a tip... but you did a great review!

      What? Haven't you done engineering? Parallel means you can bypass the circuit so it wouldn't affect it at all. It would affect it if it was in series. I guess you used the wrong word.

      @SamA-jg8vy 3 роки тому +1

      @@philmcclenaghan7056 You're absolutely right... i've never "done engineering". Are you implying that if one of the panels is in the shade that the solar charger will continue to put out the total rated power for the entire system?

      Thanks, I'm worried about getting the unit wet so have been trying to block it on purpose but I'll take your concerns into consideration.
      What do you think to the bigger foldup panels that don't have battery packs? I saw a couple of 40w ones that looked good. This charger I think it said was 5w.

    About to be homeless again so invested in few things to make it that bit more easier. I remember at a music festival (Balter) someone, a road hippie old school guy lent me his solar battery pack. I was walking around with the unit in my headband and the panels drooped down my side with the cable coming out of the back an into my phone. We live streamed Balter 25/7 for about 35 hours.
    After the festival I hung around the tent I met him in and he came back, took the charger unit from me, put his phone own next to me, gave me a huge hug and thanked me for the weekend then stood up and left. I left his phone in the lost and found and hoped for the best after he didn't return. He never rang or text me like planned so I guess the phone was a gonner.
    Looking forward to using it again!.

    Laying the solar panel flat on the ground will not give you the results you seek. The panels need to be facing directly to the Sun. You will see quite a bit of difference.

    lol, I have the same exact one. Came in the same box and everything. The only difference was the manual was by a different brand. really crazy how these things can wind up in different facilities. Probably theft off the assembly line or something

      It's pretty slow to charge in the sun. It works, but it's slow. You can tell it's working because the led light shows it's charging

      @@wilbed1082 These power banks require about a week to get to 80%. Imagine using the ones with only 1 panel .. They'll never get past 20% charge. However this device in the video is NOT IP rated at all. Dont bring it outside lol.

    • @MiddayEnglishman
      @MiddayEnglishman 6 місяців тому

      The Amazon store page says it will charge my phone 15 times though so I see that as a boon. Also thinking of plugging one of the bigger foldup panels in would do it faster as well.@@wilbed1082

    watched the whole video im almost at 7:14..... so its just a power bank not really worth it for solar.
    ive had this power bank for about 2 years and i use a big blue 30watt fold out panels to charge this thing if im hiking. when im at camp i use a powerstation jackery, cobra, ecoflow what ever you got doesnt matter, i've even used my car to charge it. the solar on this is a gimmick. works as a power bank but it wont do fast charging or super charging just slow standard. good power bank it 2005.
