Of course! Thanks for watching
This panel can put out close to 100 watts ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxOqI2yqX0XVrhR2BMJciTWrHJpG8FhJyg when positioned in the appropriate southernly direction, tilted to the optimal angle for your latitude/date, and connected to a higher capacity device than a 500. The built in kickstand angle is a fixed at 50 degrees. Up to 20% more power can be output by selecting the actual date and latitude optimal angle. The 500 will only input 3.5A maximum at 18 volts for 63 watts. Some of the excess power from the panel can be fed into a USB battery bank, charged directly from the panel while also charging a 500. This will allow you to harvest as much as 63 + 15 = 78 watts. If this panel is used to charge a larger device, such as the power station, then its full output potential can be realized.
100 Watts from a panel that is the size of a man's hand? Its output specs are 2.1A 5V and 10.5W
@@hicmad this comment is giving dead internet vibes. someone probably made a comment bot to boost people going to their channel
As a vagabond I'll say solar panel charges are actually very useful for specific types of lifestyles. Yes the solar panel method takes a very long time to charge, but if you're like me and walk 10+miles a day or you're camping, even homeless. You don't need it to be max charged, just enough to either keep your phone from dying or enough to turn it on long enough for an emergency call etc. If you keep it out enough you can probably maintain around 30% of its max charge just walking around. Enough to last you till you can get to a plug or enough to charge. Phone to like 15%>
Exactly. He's debunking a claim that no one really made.
*Love the portability of this solar panel unit. **Generater.Systems** Easy to grab and go and doesn't take up space!*
I live in one of the most sunny places in the United States, we never see rain or clouds here. I left this outside for weeks, maybe a month, and it still was not fully charged. But it was pretty close, I was able to charge my iPhone and some of an iPad with it.
Only a month! Wow! Patience is a virtue!!! Lol!!!!!🤣🤣🤣
Thank u for letting me know I was going to buy 1 tomorrow
@@bingcherry1122 waiting an entire month for a battery to charge is impatient? For those of us with an actual life, we need to charge our electronics DAILY not monthly. Why are you here? Do you even use electricity? Lol!
Don't forget to buy an EMP shield to protect it.

Finally, a relevant, concise, clear solar charger review! Thank you, Tava!
This is way better than other solar power bank videos. Concise and to the point. I would rather go for something that has a selling point such as cold resistance for alpine excursions. Thanks Tava!
You did an amazing job reviewing this product 👍🏽
That was an excellent review young man, well done.
Gosh I love your honesty!
Thank you for the honesty!!
Glad to help!
Thanks. You covered every question that I had about pocket solar chargers.
This was very informative, and help a bit woth me deciding if I should go with a normal power bank vs a solar power one. Really a awesome job on this video.
Good work! Keep posting honest reviews.
Never would have thought about airline travel, great information!
Really useful information, especially about flying! Thank you!
An honest review. Thank you, Tava!
Tava thank y ou for your excellent clear observation and commentary
Love your honesty. I got taken!!! but i now have a back up battery.
Yes! Not a bad battery
Best reviews so far on this solar power banks
That's why we do product research. There are solar power banks out there that charge up to 400mah. With that said you did an amazing job reviewing the product.
❤🎉😂😢😮😅❤😂🎉😢😮😅❤😂🎉😢😮
Thanks for the honesty dude
This videos explains everything and it deserves more like
This is the best review I have ever seen. Thank you.
I was wondering about those chargers. Thanks!
Yeah no problem
Excellent review and to the point. Thanks!
Thank you for the video helps a lot
the one and the only review you'll need about this power banks
Pretty much!
Great video dude. You brought up some really good points :)
Great review, very accurate! Unfortunately, I saw it after making the purchase. We are dealing with a power outage so I got it thinking I would use it for my device (as advertised) and outdoor solar lights which cover my two of my needs. It worked the first day for a few minutes and it hasn’t charged my phone since. I will be returning it and looking into a better quality charger. Thank for sharing!
Great evaluation!
Thanks for the video
Thanks for this review. It (as well as some of the comments here) answered questions about a portable solar charger I got second hand. The markings indicate 300,000 mah (yes, this is what it said on the unit) which I still find hard to believe. I noted the solar panel didn't seem to be doing anything and I wondered if it was broken. The review helped answer that question. That said, I think it was still a good investment as I have found a number of uses for it beyond charging devices. I bought a 28 watt USB solar panel charger which means I can charge it, as well as other small devices, much faster when not near a wall socket.
What brand of solar panel charger did you get and does it charge in winter time with natural light but no sunlight? Thanks again man.
Great video, all the facts good and bad, straight to the point.
great information. Thank you!
Thank you, you answered all my questions
Pretty informative video, mate. Congratulations!
🤙🏽 thanks for the review
Great and informative review 👍
Good review and info
thank you sir for all the great info
great review. thank you
A lot of helpful info in that 6 min Review!
Great video bud. So many others don’t bother telling you about these kind of details. Stick with it!
Thank You!!
Thanks Man!
Thank you so much! Everyone's review has been so confusing and so ridiculous! Your review was amazing!
Thanks for the truth! I was about to toss mine! Now it’s just a plug in charger not a solar toy!
Thanks for answering my question about how it charges in the sun.
Amazingly explained! ✅💯 I don’t have to look at another unexplained video! 🙄 Thank you!
Thank you 4 saving me from wasting my money buying these 4 my son's!
Thank you sir!
Thank you bro.
Love the outro 🔥
You don't know how many times I've come back to this video just to see the outro again 😂😅
Wow! Thank you 😂
thanks for explaining the solar panels
Good review.
You just saved me £35! Thanks for the straightforward facts, very helpful.
Thanks .I bordered it by accident..and was soo confused.
Good description just got it have the same view too bout the solar panel
Thanks for your great and informative video. 🙂Currently, as of March 2023, you can fly with a power bank that 27,000 Mah (100 Watt) or less, but you have to take it with you inside the plane cabin in your carry on bag. It can't be in checked baggage.
Very good review, I’ve been so hesitant purchasing it…
Thank you
Thanks!!
I never thought that the panel on my charger would recharge it in hours, and I don't recall any advertising that ever said that. What it is good for is as the proverbial emergency back up in case all else fails. A few hours in sun should give you enough juice to charge a phone enough to make a short call or to note your position via the GPS.
I bought a solar panel battery like this with 4 panels that folded out. Kept it on my dash to charge while I rode my bike on a trip. I came back to a swollen battery. This is how I found out that the batteries themselves cannot take heat. Since the solar panel is required to be in the sun (and heat), having the battery attached (and also in the heat) is not a good idea. You need the solar panel and charger to be separate in order to keep the solar panel in the sun and the battery in the shade.
That makes a lot of sense which makes the concept of built in solar panels even more ridiculous!
Same. Left mine on the car dash a whole summer and thought nothing of it until it hit one of our hottest weeks. I came back to a fat battery and panicked thinking it could explode at any moment.
So even if you could efficiently charge through the built in solar panel powerbank, you run the risk of overheating the battery to even charge it. These solar banks only do well to capture short periods of light which will take weeks to charge safely.
Great video
I am happy with mine. I am on a rural electric network that seems to have power loss issues fairly often. They do work on the cause very quickly and restore power within a couple of hours usually. Of course it generally happens when I haven't charged my phone recently. The solar charger that I keep by a window to stay charged is a nice backup to be able to continue to use my cell phone during any outages.
Excellent review you should have 1M subs
Appreciate it!
Thanks for the video, it was really helpful! Do you know the temperature range, as a charger/powerbank, for normal operation? Because some equivalent products don't work well for low temperatures (0 or less ºC) and/or high humidity environments. Thanks in advance!
I am not entirely sure, but since this battery isn’t special from other batteries, I would say it would start to drop performance below 0°C and over 45. As for humidity, it is said to be waterproof, so I doubt that would have very much impact on performance.
I think we all knew the solar panel was "gimmicky" but redundancy is nice to have
1:32 he looks so happy
Thanks
Only buy one that has an alternative charging option such as wall outlet, so you can always keep it at full charge before heading out into the wild
What you can do is if you bought one of these products and think its a waste of money, you could just buy the folding 5 panels that have a micro usb input and charge it that way. It's own panel will pitch in 200 milliamp hours and the 5 other panels will pitch in about an amp.
The small panel is just as an emergency backup. I had thought that that was obvious to most people.
@@gary7vn This is true, but some people unless they look at the manual it's misleading because one panel simply doesn't provide enough power these days.
if in a vehicle and want a lot of power for lights and phones etc when stopped , Dual battery systems are good . they charge a second car battery when the main one is full .
Someone opened one of these up and posted a photo in the Amazon reviews on 12/19/20. It showed a 4,000 mAh battery inside rated at 3.7VDC (not at 5VDC specified) for a total of 14.8 Wh (20,000 mAh @ 5VDC = 100 Wh). This would be only a fraction of the advertised capacity. Does anyone know what the real capacity of this charger is?
This is very common with the power bank market. You never get what you pay for. My advice is only buy 10k max mAh banks they are under 20$ and usually true to capacity.
I have a model S1008D rated for 20,000 and it has two 3.7v 4000mah 606090 lipo's in it for a total 3.7v capacity of 8000 mah
I wanna know if it’s would affect my battery health of my iPhone X because it seems to charge fast on my iPhone? Was it dangerous????
If you want to guarantee your capacity is straightforward, get something name brand but this is very common.
for me, simply have 2 cheap 10000mAh powerbank is way better than having an expensive 20000mah powerbank, portable, cheap and never feeling too bad to throw it away, if you buy it from malls you can have 1 year warranty and easy to replace for free if error happens
I remember I had one of these. I left it in the window for like a week but it never even charged at all.
Lol mine works just fine. You just got a faulty unit..
ummm....glass cuts the power a solar panel gets by like 70 percent. To our eyes, windows let all the light through, but realistically glass reflects a lot of the light.
So was mine. My advice: do not waste your money on this useless stuff
@@tbensy3786 Mine works fine.
Well informed video, I was just looking at the Swiss Tech brand 20K mah unit, now it makes me wonder if it's worth the $35.
Good video, and informative, but , once the device is charged from a wall outlet, wouldn't keeping it in the sun, while hiking assist on keeping it charged, even at a lower clip. I love anyone's input.
Thanks
It would help, for sure, but probably not a whole lot. Maybe you’d garner an extra 30 minutes from it at most.
Great video. I figured the solar panel was pretty much worthless.
Barry
It's not. It's there for use in an emergency. Not sure why anyone would think that a tiny panel would recharge the bank in a few hours.
Thank you for the update on the solor device. So, which solar power charger do you think is the best to purchase that charges fast buy the sun and is not a gimmick??
Basically there are none in this form factor and type that aren’t a gimmick. The foldable solar panel chargers are the only ones that would actually work well.
Wow finally someone said it like it is, the solar on these sucks. I really don’t need mega milliamperes. I would really like to see a 10 or 15 k mil with a solar that actually works & is capable of charging the unit.
I think the most important thing is the capacity....did you test the capacity?
Honestly it does take forever to charge using solar but it is nice to squeeze some charge into it especially if you are a soldier and are in the field a lot and just want to have your phone on a rest day from excersizes
If you only use your phone for occasional calls or texts, check weather, and keep it turned off or in extreme low power mode. One charge should last a week. Plenty of time to recharge the power bank. With a electrical outlet available everywhere in the city, that issue disappears. I like it. What type of batteries does it use? And are they new or recycled cells?
Thank you! In Germany it'S Oktober right now and the Bright Sunny days are now replaced by more greyish days. Is it useless? Does it need real Sun...or just daylight?
Great info about how long it takes to charge this charger by solar. "Cool in concept, but in reality they don't really do that much." :)
How do you know when it's fully charged?
I've had one solar charger in my life, and the solar panel only charged passively, it did not charge the power bank. How can I find out if a solar charger will charge the power bank or just the phone?
I have a 20,000 mAh cellphone charger too. But, the number was a lie. I fully charged the battery up ,then plugged in a meter and then a Usb desk lamp and let it run till it was empty. All I actually got out was 3474 mAh at 5V DC. So, you might want to dig a little deeper and see what your device REALLY can store AND deliver to your devices. Honest manufacturers will tell you the real number: NightCore 10,000 mAH Battery charger "brick" says right on the side it will actually deliver 6400 mAh at 5V DC and it is a top-of-the-line device ($ 60 new)
Mine’s just flashing those two lights and not charging any batteries! Impossible to turn them off, hopefully it will stop flashing once the battery is completely flat.
Thx
If you're lost in the woods and your phone is dead, it'll give you enough juice for a 911 call, maybe?
Maybe!
4:47 The only reason I bought it is to bring it on a plane and charge my phone which I use for navigation lol.
Can you use that on a Nintendo switch?
Hi I was just wondering . If you start with a full charge. And keep it in sunlight will it Maintain the charge . Ang if you need to use it to charge say your phone . You've only used 1/6th of the battery then continue to keep it in the sunlight to recharge it should work better .
where I can buy that one sir?
I got the same model today but the flashlight doesn't do any of those things
I bought the Yelomin brand of this charger and I’m very pleased with it. I leave it in the window to keep it charged. Used it during a power outage and it charged both a phone and an ipad fairly quick. Aside from the hinge on the port cover breaking I like everything else about this gadget.
