You mention in past about using different parts, glands, sacks to make lures. For the different animals were are they and how do you cut them out and store them and ship them to a lure maker?
Good video you made me laugh when you said you got to catch all the trash before you catch the fur sounded just like the old trapper that taught me how to trap many years ago. He use to say that all the time
Great video Dale, thanks,,i got tickled at the dog, he was marking and looking at locations during first part of video. What a great video!!! Wish now i had used a dog on the line for cat and coyotes!!
Funny thing with cat nip Kevin. Yes it can be a magnet to SOME cats and a repellent to others. I have found another ingredient that seems to attract all cats of all ages. Thanks for watching this. I appreciate it
Jesse I use the biggest trap thats legal to me. Here in iowa I use the number 3 Bridger coil spring dog on. I personally like big pans and bigger jaw speeds. I appreciate you watching and I hope I helped you some
Hi Mr. Billingsley, I have not really trapped in 40 years (but played around a couple years trapping) but just really got serious this year and CANNOT catch a bobcat. In TN we are not allowed to use Conibears on "Dry Land" so the bucket set will not work. I have bobcats on trail camera not committing to my trap sets though You have given me a few good ideas and for that I thank you. Sir I am your most ardent lieutenant but would really benefit from a bobcat video during trapping season. Thank you for all you have done.-Paul
Another great video dale! I don’t target cats since Illinois makes a big fuss about them with the tags…but I would like to go to Missouri and catch a few
What color for the flag you mentioned ? Also I think I heard you say early in the video "dry" set on the racoon trail from timber to crop field.Do you mean a set with no lure etc?. Really enjoy your videos. I find them very informative.
For flag colors i like black white or green. Cats can see those colors. What i mean by dry is just footholds snares or conibears set blind in the trails. No bait or lure. Thanks for watching i appreciate it
Coffey outdoors we had to do that here for several years too. Make sure to report all catches when and where. Carry a map of the staye with you and mark them down to give to the dnr. It'll help
It doesn’t take cats and otters long to really take off once they get a foothold. If you can get your fish and wildlife dept. thinking that the cats are hurting the turkey population, and hunter success, you might get them moving.
Dale, I recently set my dirt holes with jaws facing to step thru not over. Like you said under the bridge here. But I’ve now seen in other videos at dirtholes you faced jaws so they step over.. Do I need to go fix my dog/cat dirtholes so they are facing different than here?
You didn't see it in my videos with dirt holes that they step over jaws Jesse. Always between never over. Same with flat sets that are walk through. Always between never over. Go re-watch them and you'll see that
Thank you for the videos Dale! As a new trapper I am trying to learn all I can and the information you share is amazing. Could you do a video about human scent? Some folks say it doesn’t matter, some say it does. Thank you again for the awesome videos and keep ‘em coming!
Thanks again...trying to watch all yr videos...
I appreciate you watching Steven. Thank you
Again 😉

Midwestern trapper thank you so much. I love catching cats. I get spotted fever really bad when i find cat sign lol
I need to get out of Illinois and run a cat line!
I understand that. We're only allowed 3 here in my part of Iowa. Same with otter. Im covered up im both

Do you ever use Poly fill under the pan instead of a pan cover?
Yes I do Butch . I really like steel screen wire I just haven't cut any yet this year
Part of video was dark low light conditions but enjoyed and subscribed
Yes i know Paul. I need to pay more attention to that in my fiture videos and i promise i will. Thank you we greatly appreciate you
we have a ton of cats in Indiana but no season have to release them

Stephen Pickard you are 100 % correct.
You mention rabbits. I always avoid trails to avoid rabbits.
I catch 1 now and then Joe. Generally when I do a cat eats it then the next day you have the cat.
