Yes, my daughter applied for several, but most were those whose FAFSA showed lots of need. She got an interview for one, but didn’t get the scholarship.
Yes, our county provides this opportunity.
No we didn't know! Grateful this gave us a good place to start looking.
The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation is exactly what you're talking about. My daughter is working on her essay but she'll also need to provide her transcript, reference contact info and FAFSA.
Pls I have no time to be wasted. Do you want to give me Scholarship or you just want to make a jest with me?.
Not the best scholarship:
1. No Essay
2. Big name (too much competition)

Thank you for your tips and tricks. They have been very helpful in identifying and finding the right type of scholarships so that my students' essays are the perfect match. Both of the boys have won multiple scholarships and are working toward their full ride built with multiple smaller and private scholarships. Thanks again for putting this information out there. We have had more help in your free sessions than their schools provided!
Glad to hear that! It’s tough for counselors to juggle so much. That’s why we’re here for families!
Thank you for this information! It is very helpful as we begin the journey of paying for college.

Great information! We are going to a college visit in the morning. This is perfect timing for us to plan how we are going to fund this next chapter of her life.
Yes! Good luck on the visit!
Thank you so much for all your help! I’m entering my senior year in high school, so The Scholarship System has been very helpful to me and my family. Do you have any advice on what I can do to maximize my last year in high school/what are things you did or didn’t do that you wish you had done? Thanks again, Jocelyn!
definitely apply for scholarships the entire year! Most students wait until spring semester which means you’ll have less competition in the fall! Great work already just being here! 👏👏
What scholarship websites did you Apply to ?
Lots of opps out there, just a matter of narrowing down to the most productive ones. Thanks for the tips!
Yes! 100%!
My daughter and I had given up on the No Essay options after filling out 1/2 a billion of them! Glad to know the WHY behind those now, especially since we have 3 more daughters to go.
Ah yes. Been there, done that! Now you know ☺️☺️
Hello and thank you for your huge help! Your videos have been very calming and helpful. I have a question about one type of scholarship you introduced in this video the Community Foundation Scholarships. Is this a certain foundation? Do they have a website?
Or do I need to find the local foundation that gives away scholarships? I am a bit confused about what does it mean.
This refers to any organization in your local community! You can read more about it here: thescholarshipsystem.com/blog-for-students-families/how-to-find-local-scholarships-to-pay-for-college/#Community_Organizations
Great information
Glad it was helpful!
THANK U!
You're welcome!
I recommend The College Counseling Specialist for Admissions/Scholarships. He really can help. His office is in Orange County but maybe he could help with the process online too if you live somewhere else.
can you provide some links for the scholarships?
Do you see the FAFSA has a lot to do with scholarship qualifications more than the essay?
I just registered for the free training on tomorrow. Thank you so much! My daughter is about to begin her freshman year in college and is coming from a single parent home. Her worry is that I won’t be able to pay for the school. I advised her to just stay focused on school and leave the rest to me. We’ve wasted so much time on scams with scholarships. I wish we would have found you sooner. We now know what to look for and with your help, will get the money she needs for school. Peace and Blessings as we seek the funding which will allow her to be debt free after she completes school.
It's never too late! So still best you're working on it. Great job! Keep it up!!
Great information and so concise! I have new areas to search that I did not know of prior to the video. Thank you! Looking forward to the weekly tips.
Woooo! That's great to hear!
thank you so much for this video. I just wanted to ask if these scholarships are also for international students
Hi Esther, there are scholarships for international students but they are less common.
Which one would you suggest for someone in late 20s , who has a GED and first time in college no act or sat score just pert test score .
Thank you.
You can still follow the exact instructions I shared! For ACT/SAT, plenty don't ask for that. It's no problem. You may find some mention an age limit but this is rare.
We have a common app for local scholarships in our community, but only seniors in high school are allowed to apply, I think this scholarship type is the 4th type. Is there a way to determine if there are any other community foundations outside of our local common app scholarships that can be re-applied to? I feel like we can probably get freshman year covered between local scholarships, the automatic merit scholarship (already awarded) and hopefully a department scholarship that has yet to be offered (we are following up on whether or not my daughter's audition through thescon can be used for scholarship or if it would be awarded after the official audition day).
You can search community foundations in your state to see if they offer scholarships to college students. Every scholarship has its own requirements so hopefully you can find a couple!
Do you have any advice to help homeschool families locate scholarships? Also, I know you say go straight to the source. The example you used was Sony for a graphic design major. My daughter wants to major in accounting. In that case... who's the source? I have no idea. And the one I did find was for children of employees only. Your help is appreciated.
Try checking the guidance webpage at your local high school! Even though your child is not a student there, most high schools will post scholarship opportunities on their websites. Also check your state's Society of CPA's.
I want to do GED on scholarship?
What about scholarships for students already in college?
Are there any Scholarships for a student who would have been a freshman in college last year, but deferred due to COVID. Heading to college this fall.
Absolutely, Laura! There are tons of scholarships for students heading to college or already there. A lot of deadlines at this point will be for spring semester or the following school year. You should check out my free training I mentioned to start building a list! thescholarshipsystem.com/freewebinar .... Lastly, you can check out our scholarship (though it's due today!! 7/26) thescholarshipsystem.com/blog-for-students-families/scholarship-system-annual-scholarship-opportunity/. --- Hope that helps!
I am from Pakistan. Will my A-LEVELS grades matter other than SAT score for admissions and scholarships in USA universities or only my SAT score and IELTS bands will matter ?
Hi there! I am sorry. I am not familiar with how the process works for international students!
Found a local credit union giving 10k scholarships to 6 local students. I think my son has a great chance, thanks. I looked for it after hearing this clip
