I just got this card and I also got the CSP card at the same time. I’ve heard there are some tricks to use them both to take advantage of the companion benefit.
They didn’t disclose how but technically if we use CSP and transfer points to SW is better than buy in SW.

If I get the sign on bonus of 50k points and then get a couple 20k referrals, do all of those points count towards the 125k companion offer? And once you hit the companion offer, do those 125k points get eaten up or do you get enrolled in the program automatically and still keep all your points

Are there ever times when you feel paying is better than using your points for a trip? For instance 2 round trip tickets to Mexico is like 580 but with my points it's like 12000 points plus 187 for fees which is better? Just seems like too many points being used on top of paying fees
I def do NOT use my points all the time. The peel I love is the companion pass. So if I do pay cash my companion can fly for free and we share a room. So if your companion doesn’t mind y’all can split the trip total in half. So you’re only paying half the cost out of pocket
Could you possibly have a video covering all the points/miles needed for a trip to bora bora or maldives? And with the sign up bonuses needed to cover the hotel and airfare.

Honestly Southwest is a pretty solid airlines and their cobranded cards with Chase make it even better.

Why not...both? All jokes aside, you can always transfer your Chase UR points to Southwest to redeem. Or you could open the CSP then a few months later open the Southwest card. Best of luck - let me know if you have additional questions!
@@johnsfinancetips ok, I was just making sure there wasn't any intrinsic value with the Southwest card that I couldn't get with CSP. I'm currently under 5/24 but want to make sure I get the best cards to maximize the benefits.
@@mcbc5189 Got it - the play here is really Companion Pass hack or for people that are a semi frequent SW flyer. If you're just looking for next CC with value and you're under 5/24 then I 100% would say CSP for 100K. Then after 1 year upgrade to CSR for the travel perks. Just my 2 cents. Do you have business cards in play?
