If you're traveling outside of the US then don't rely on American Express. It's not commonly accepted in Europe. Personally I always make sure I have at least two cards; one based on Mastercard and one based on Visa.

Great video. We have a United miles card. We have been able to use a lot of miles to travel. But, I’ve been hearing cards that give cash back, might be even better? But, also, I’m wondering if we got a new chase card, would our United miles still be there for us to use? Thanks!

Thank you for this subject,”credit cards for traveling” . My wife and I are 67 years old and want to travel more! We are on a fixed income and I’ve used Carnival and Princess cards to help us cruise 2 different trips. We cruised to Hawaii and to the Panama Canal. Do you have any advice what would be another card we could use to travel more using rewards & points. We looking to cruise to the Caribbean in 2025?

Hi Nick & Allie! My husband and I recently got the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, because we nearly always rent cars to explore when we are traveling overseas. However, I noticed in the fine print that the Chase rental car coverage doesn't cover any liability coverage should you injure someone else or damage other people's property. Since we have to decline coverage at rental car counter, in order to utilize our Chase rental car coverage, what do you suggest as far as covering yourself in the liability area? Thanks, in advance, for your advice!

What card pays the most cash back. I have a “food” card A “gas” card an “Amazon” card a “hotel” card and then an “everything else” card. Then if you link your Amex cards to Rakuten your points build faster. It can be overwhelming but once you’re hooked on cash back/points it becomes easier,

@@awaytogetherthese videos (and your channel) are fantastic, thanks so much for putting this content out there. Super helpful. A quick follow up regarding the number of credit cards one might accumulate in the pursuit of reward travel. Does your credit score suffer if you have a bunch of cards open? Let's assume the balances on everything are paid off each month and no more than 30% of the available credit is used. Have you seen your FICO score go down as you keep adding cards? Just curious. I have about 4 cards at the moment but considering adding a few after watching this.
      Thanks for any tips!

@@awaytogether 17 credit cards at the same time? Wow! We have 3 tracek credit cards. In Canada, I have found that these cards give a lot of points but they seem to tack on a lot of fees when you want to use them for flights. Due to bank accounts we hold, we don’t pay the $140 yearly fees on them which is nice. I’m debating about whether I should also get a good Amex card too.

Can these UA-camrs stop saying the phrase "travel for free". Is incredibly inaccurate and you all say it to feel better with yourselves. I'm sure over 90% of the people watching this believe you when you say it because they don't know any better but please, at least be honest about how these programs work. Also, Credit Karma doesn't give you your FICO Score, which is the score credit card issuers use. The number these is usually super off from your real FICO Score. Last, regarding the annual fees, the banks usually charge them the first month of opening the card so be ready to take that hit.
