There’s also a small mark under the left side that you can see if alone

Very good but at first you have to figure out the right cables coming from the handlebar, that's to say the cable that will select the 1st gear versus the cable that will select the 3 others gears. On my Vespa the cable sheaths that guide the cables are : one black and the other grey.

That’s right, smart thing with different colours.

Great video, thank you. I have a question for you if you don't mind:
I have a 1979 p200 with 8,000 miles on it, and Im new to old Vespas. I feel like Im not getting a positive 'click' when I chage gears. Its just a soft movement, and I almost feel like Im guessing if its in the right gear, lining up with the numbers on the shifter, if that makes sense.
Could this be the tension on the cables needs to be adjusted? Or do you think the gear selector is worn out?
Thanks for your help, I appreciate it
    Andy

      Hello Andy.
It’s obviously hard to say without seeing or feeling it by myself.
But I would start with removing the lid for the gear selector. With the lid of you’ll be able to se what’s happening when shifting.
It’s possible that you need to tension the cables. Also have a look at the spring that pushes the “roller” against the selector disc, if the spring is bad you won’t get any good feedback to the shifter.
Your bike has low mileage so I don’t think it should be any big issues with it.

@@nathan.kayne21 it’s probably not a big problem, it rarely is when it comes to Vespas. Probably just need some lubricant or grease.
Have you removed the cables from the gear selector on the engine and tried if it turns then?

I have just purchased a Vespa PX 150. It has a cosa clutch, 177 kit and 60mm crank. I am having trouble changing down gears. Sometimes it gets stuck in 2nd gear when I have stopped. No matter what I do the shifter will not move. Clutch and gear cables appear to be set up correctly. Any ideas? Thanks.

      Hello.
Hard to say. Are the gear cables too tight?
Problem with the gear selector unit?
      Crucifix problem?
Here is a link with some good tips on how to troubleshoot:

@@Mark-wx1ho sounds unlikely that the cruciform would be the problem. My friend changed his at 40000 km and it still looked good. Start with checking the easy things cables, selector unit and so on.
