Thank you, this is a great video that come just in time for what I was looking. I have many years of experience as security engineer working in the DC with many security products such as CP, Cisco and lately Palo Alto.
I have been working in n the cloud for some PAN VM series firewalls but I don’t have the cloud experience to know the ins / out of both AWS and Azure to figure my way out how all comes into places.
I have been struggling which way to advance my cloud security knowledge and I was trying to match with what most jobs are looking in a candidate, and I didn’t know how to go about doing it. It didn’t not make sense to me to start from the beginning, and way my work up but I don’t have the skills they are looking n those jobs such as automation, scripting, etc.
It did not make sense to me to throw my years of experience and switch to other roles such as solutions architect (to make it worth while) but I don’t have the depth of knowledge / experience for those type of roles.
So your suggested path, I think it will make much more sense and I think I can see my self achieving all those skills and certs within a year time, so thank you.
      Just a specific question:
      1. There are specialized networking certs for the cloud and what’s your opinion about those certs. I think knowing networking is also important to do security and if you have any suggesting (AWS and azure)
      2. I see that there is a shift towards devsecops as well in the industry and I am wondering if cloud security engineers are also expected to fill those roles as well.

This is a good roadmap to become a cloud security engineer, just sharing a little bit of my experience as a cloud security engineer. I started as a cloud engineer for around 1 year and a half before transitioning to cloud security engineer AZ-500 is a really good certification to get after AZ-104.
I did a lot of mini labs projects of Microsoft Sentinel & Microsoft Defender for the cloud during my free time, and network security is also essential 😊
    Good luck for everyone ❤

You never fail to hit the big points! Certifications are good to get past HR, but practical experience is key to not only getting hired but also becoming an asset. Hiring and Program managers will usually ask practical application questions that can't be answered with A, B, or C. Do those projects for hands-on skill and never stop developing yourself.

Question. I found your videos and they have given me exactly what I was looking for. A cost effective path that is straight to the point. I’ll be learning exactly what I need and no filler. My question is though that when I’ve asked around the community people have said the Google certifications are not really recognized in the community. I remember you saying you did as well attend a University. I’m sure you’ve been in a hiring position by now….Is this true? Will it make getting a job harder? Are employers going to want more and not take these certs seriously?
If anyone has done one of these pathways solely and have experience with getting into the job I would like to hear from you as well!

I post weekly success stories of individuals from all over the world who followed my roadmaps, so it works.

As you need a good understanding of the ins and outs of cloud computing before you can secure it are entry level cloud security jobs rare or can only a good Cloud Engineer go on to become a Cloud Security Engineer?
