great , thx.......there is something special with that sound, filter....I decided to sale the RME because I down sized my studio and no longer have a space for rack mount but there is nothing quite like the RME sound, and will miss it

Hey man. Really nice and interesting video. Thanks a lot. Is the tone starting at around 1:20 made with the voyager? It's huge. I'm looking for a desktop synth for this warm sub bases. I do ambient and melodic electronic music. Would you rather recommend the voyager RME or Slim phatty. Or let's say, in case of sub bases, would the slim phatty do the job also well, if I can not find or efford a voyeger? I own a Minitaur, but not that happy with the sub bases and it drives me crazy that I can not store presets at the machine.

Hey thanks, yes that is the voyager, so the slim phatty has a very good low end and pure analog power however it is one mono out so will not sound as wide and rich as the voyager which is in stereo , If the price is not a factor and you have room I would choose the RME , slim a close second w wider variety of sounds than the Taurus, and it can sound very big

At the time when you still owned the Voyager and the Phatty, did you link the Phatty with the Voyager RME by use of the VX-351 / 352, or were they on separate audio tracks?

Thx, I have them on separate tracks and record directly into cubase haven’t tried the VX , I still have voyager but not the phatty and would get the phatty again if I get another synth

Compare the Voyager to the Matriarch! Also, If I owned the Slim Phatty and the Matriarch, do you think there’d be any need to own the Subsequent 37?

no I think you got the moog sound covered with the slim and matriarch the slim is very powerful and mono ....the subsequent is mono but has a good sequencer and arp but has way too many knobs and buttons for my workflow ....however the matriarch has an easier to program arp and sequencer and is stereo like the voyager but more modern, it has the voyager sound ! So long story short i have the matriarch sold my voyager and phatty but probable will buy another slim phatty

JVMC Thank you for the reply! I really appreciate it, and what you said confirms what I thought. I had thought maybe the addition of the sub oscillator would make the Subsequent 37 better than the slim, but if I wanted an additional sub oscillator I could simply set the patch up on the Matriarch that way, or run midi out from the slim to have the matriarch play the sub oscillator under the slim. Thanks again for the detailed response! If it got you to sell your voyager, than the matriarch must really be solid!

kturn5953 yes and the slim phatty in my opinion sounds much better than the subsequents because it has better circuitry and much more wider dynamic range and clarity..check out 11:18 the subsequent can’t sound like that as one example
