    Thanks for taking uS along. I have watches a lot of videos exploring Algonquin. I enjoyed your video and at the end you said you didn’t know the other 3 gentlemen’ I had a weird feeling about the other 2 were not very friendly in your video but that may just be the trip. Well I enjoyed your Adventures. Around Bend Oregon out !!

      I'm glad you enjoyed it. I can't recall the line you mentioned, but we all met via UA-cam and I had never met Matt before the trip and barely knew Eze or Fred before the trip. Sad they came across as unfriendly, but I can assure you we all got on very well, they are all top blokes, we had many laughs and we are still in regular contact with each other. I have been on a few adventures since with Fred and Eze and we are all hoping to do another similar adventure together. All the best, paul

      I can vouch for Eze he puts out some amazing videos, he has one on Algonquin, The Yukon and Patagonia, and others they are really worth checking out and he is a super guy, I haven’t met him but he can’t fake his good personality. It seems that most of those who join in remain behind the scenes of the main videographer. They all seem to love the wild and some are so good at getting great shots!

    Ty, Great vid Paul, love it. It's awe inspiring isn't it. I watched EZE's awhile ago and thought it was the best representation of Algonquin so far. Took me awhile to find the group's vids. I like your meal plan...got some ideas! Do you know that you guys were recently brought up in a podcast here...think it was with the Budnicks, or Bairds. You should come back for a month.. hard to do I know but you could hit 3 or 4 Parks in somewhat close proximity (Canadian Close) and maybe slightly different topography. Algonquin (for nostalgia), Killarney, Temagami, French river, Mississagi all within 200 km of each other. I don't fish and thought Algonquin was fished out but recently learned otherwise.. just this week watched a vid where 2 guys caught 107 trout in 3 days in the fall. Better luck next time!

      Would love to come back and severely hope I get to do so. Eze is out in Wabakimi right now, we often discuss all going back together at some point. Love the idea of doing month and exploring a few parks. Thanks for watching and I'm glad you liked it. All the best, Paul.

      @@WhenNaturePauls P.S. I was just out a couple of weeks ago on a different loop into Big trout Lake (nobody on it then) I had to go pay a tribute to your campsite. My Fav vid and Fav part(that thunder storm). It was my slow day and paddled to just about every site :) Checking out a site we did about 25 years ago.

    I recently bought a canoe and im keen to do an overnight camp and paddle.
    Is there anywhere you would suggest at this time of year.
    Im a fairly competent camper but want to take my dog to so something fairly simple to start with
    Cheers

      Hi mate, thank you for stopping by!
      Just be weary of the weather especially the wind and If it were me I would want somewhere close to home with an easy escape route, should there be any complications. I would select a river no more technical than you are comfortably with or a loch/lake that you can easily return to your access point should you get into difficulties. You don't want to get pinned down by wind and waves miles away from an egress at the wrong end of the water. Wear appropriate clothing/Buoyancy aid, take spares and stay close to the bank, self rescuing is very difficult if you haven't practiced and usually better to just swim ashore. Let someone know exactly where you are going and better yet don't go on your own. Some of this might sound obvious, but I am being careful with what I say (anyone can read this). My get out clause - Don't just take my advise though do plenty of research.
      where do you live roughly?

    • @jqoutdoors
      @jqoutdoors Рік тому +1

      Thanks for replying Paul, and yes it might sound like obvious advice but usually the best advice is obvious.
      I am cautious and wouldn't put myself in a situation I wasn't comfortable with.
      If you are ever back up in Scotland give me a shout for a possible collaboration.
      Again appreciate you taking time to reply .
      Oh and a sail is a must lol its on my Christmas list lol.
