  • This is not the typical fix of a bad relay or fuse. I have to give credit to sparkys answers that outline the fix. I didn't see video on this so I created this video from Sparkys Answers info.
    Sparkys Answers link sparkys-answers.com/2015/06/2...
    The good ohm test readings are as follows:
    100 ohms - Speed sensor connector on compressor front 2 pins
    10K ohms - Blue/white wire on wire harness connector from alternator test to ground.
    Ground - brown wire on wire harness connector from alternator test to ground.

    This was exactly what I needed. My wires had somehow rubbed and we had a short going on. The mechanic didn't want to take a look for fear it would take too long to figure out. With your video I was able to see the wire was bad and got it fixed with some electrical tape. Thanks again.

      your welcome ! the key symptom to this is to watch the compressor clutch when the A/C button is turn on, the compressor clutch will engage for a second or two then disengage. you need to have some else turn ON A/C while you watch the clutch. You need to do from a fresh start, cycle the A/C button off then engine off, then start Engine and turn on A/C and notice clutch immediately if it engages for second.

    The way to fix the connector is by removing the metal electric connector from it... *for that you need to remove first the little rubber piece that seals the back of it* ..
    *Next you need to insert a needle or something alike through the tiny hole next to the metal connector in order to release a little tab hidden inside that holds it in place then use something like a hook or pin to push it out with. Once outside you can reattach the lose wire to it and reinsert it in the same orientation it came out so it holds in place.... finally just reconnect the plug and you're done*

    • @databug88
      @databug88  2 роки тому

      I don't think this is your problem. When you get blinking light the ECU is not seeing the right conditions in your AC system and shutting down your AC compressor to protect it. You say it works then it would fail on follow up start. You may be on the borderline low refrigerant and after usage the system detects low and shuts down compressor.

    • @databug88

      The blinking light basically is saying something is not right with A/C system and the car computer is shutting it down to prevent damage to A/C compressor. In my case the computer is not receiving correct signal from the sensor on compressor and it turn out to be broken wire. I suggest you test the sensor connector as I have shown in video.

    2001 Corolla here. I was reading an open line on the blue/white wire (top right). Did the clutch engage, before the light started blinking?

    • @databug88
      @databug88  3 роки тому

      The key symptom is the Clutch does engage for about 1 to 2 secs then shuts down. The clutch stops because the ECU does not see the right signal condition from the sensor from the compressor and shuts down the clutch to prevent damage to compressor.
      Once the compressor is shut down by ECU it stays lock out you cannot see 1-2 secs clutch on then off by just pushing the button. You need to reset by turning off engine on restart you then can see the clutch momentarily engage then off. So you need to have some else start car and turn on AC button while you are looking at clutch to see this symptom.

      @@databug88 thank you for responding. AC worked fine till my dumb ass when on some lexus forum and read that your car would shift better if you change the capacitor on the ecu. Did change all capacitor on the ecu. The only problem now is that the ac doesn't work. Compressor will engage for 2 seconds. Disadvantages and ac light will start blinking. I've taken the car to two mechanics. They couldn't find the problem. What do you think?

    • @databug88
      @databug88  3 роки тому

      When the button light is blinking it indicates the ECU is not getting the right signal from AC sensor so it locks out compressor. As in video i would check the blue/white wire for ohm reading. This blue white wire goes back to ECU. I would check all other 3 wires as shown in video too.

    • @databug88

      Make sure blue white is not broken off the pin inside the connector. To test this insert a needle pin into blue white wire inch or two away from connector and test to the pin see if you get reading 10 ohms. If still no reading you need to follow blue white wire to see where it may be broken. If you get a reading then its broken inside connector and you should be able to tug off the wire from plug. Wires typically do not break mid stream its most likely at the connection points.

    So if it’s blink it means somethings wrong with it? It doesn’t mean it needs more refrigerant?

    • @databug88
      @databug88  3 роки тому

      If its Blinking it means the ECU / computer in car is seeing something wrong with AC system and will prevent the compressor to come on to protect it. Yes It can be low refrigerant or other problems.

    • @databug88
      @databug88  2 роки тому +1

      The white blue wire goes back to ECU make sure its not broken off inside connector. Put a pin thru the white/blue behind the connector and test to pin and see if you get a reading. If you still don't get reading then you will have trace trouble shoot back to ECU.

    • @databug88
      @databug88  3 роки тому +2

      The car is over 20 yrs old. It broke off from the pin inside the connector from 20 years of vibration i assume. I google the blinking ac light issue it referred me to an article of someone else with this same issue and it turns out i had the same ground wire broken off connector. so this may be a common problem for aged camrys.

    Did anyone find no ohm reading going back to the computer?

    • @databug88
      @databug88  3 роки тому +2

      No ohm reading is open circuit no connection to computer. The wire may be broken off the pin inside the connector as it was with my ground wire. Try testing the wire an inch away from connector you can strip wire a bit or poke a needle into wire.

  • @thomasslate3406

    What if the computer wire doesn’t have any reading at all

    • @databug88
      @databug88  2 роки тому

      The computer blue \ white wire pin should measure 10k ohms to ground. In video I said 10 ohms I meant 10K ohms.
      If you do not get reading that means the the wire is open or broken somewhere. Hopefully its broken off inside the connector similar to what happen too my brown ground wire.
      To test the blue / white wire, strip a little bit of insulation off the computer wire behind the connector and test the exposed wire hopefully you see 10k ohms. Just tape back the expose wire. you can also try tug the wire a bit see if it comes out of the connector if its broken off inside.
      If you still test no reading at strip wire behind connector then you need to follow the wire harness going back to computer and see where it may have possibly broke.
      Good luck!

      you need to check if your compressor clutch is engage if so you probably low on refrigerant and if it is low you have a refrigerant leak.
