I took a psychology course several years back. A required book for the class addressed these very phenomena. It is actually quite common for people to ignore cries for help and do virtually nothing. One such example used in the book was of a young woman who was attacked while walking home. She screamed and the attacker fled, only to come back twice and finish the job. She was stabbed to death. The people in the apartments who heard and witnessed the attack did not respond. Only one individual finally called the police, because his girlfriend forced him to.
That is why it is taught to yell, "FIRE!!!". Sadly, that will get more people to react.

    • @fisty539
      @fisty539 Рік тому +19

@@cristinaherrera5321 Theres also the bystander effect thats basically thinking someone else will step into help. Which is why you get people having seizures/heart attacks and a whole crowd gathers thinking the same thing. Sometimes it take minutes or not at all (eg George Floyd). So it's important to give instructions like "Help! Call the police!, yelling FIRE is good (depending on the location, maybe not a cinema) because it affects others.
In George Floyds case, if 10 people rushed the cop and kicked him off, held him down he might still be alive. Sure they might be convicted or tased but there were loads of people that could have done something, anything that saves an entire life, the only reason the cops were really arrested is 'coz they were afraid of riots. Humans are weird right, we are more likely to help if we are also in danger.

I was very impressed by the way the Italian judge left no stone unturned to solve the murder of the young girl. So many DNA samples were collected, starting a very extensive database.
On the other hand, the French case left me speechless. So many lives were destroyed, and lost. I could not believe the way the judge persecuted that poor woman. What a tragedy. Even though these cases happened decades ago, my heart goes out to the families, and friends who suffered losses, humiliations, and some who still didn't get closure.

It's hard to believe that a single person over the age of eight in France bought the insane nonsense that she had turned herself into a literal witch. Good grief, this happened in the 1980ies in a European country. The witch trials in France had ended 300 years ago by then. Or at least that's what the history books say...

I really appreciate how much you also cover international stories that don’t always get as much attention. A: it’s fresh material that I’m assuming can be difficult doing research for because of language barriers and B: seeing how different countries justice systems work gives a lot of cultural insight I think. If the judge’s actions were not that out of the ordinary nor enough to get him immediately dismissed from Gregory’s case, I can see why the French have become stereotyped as fussy.

I believe that’s why he didn’t do anything on the first day, he already knew about it and had to give his self some time to get ready for what was to come with the case. I so believe that’s why no one will name the real person behind it all to this day. The way that family was treated was so sad, my heart goes out to that mother for all she had to endure. It was blood. The man that has been sentenced has been fighting for years for the dna tests to be re done, however the courts moved the evidence from a secure temperature holding place to another place ( no reason to do this) therefore making the evidence now unreliable for testing. A judge is now accused of this. In my opinion an error was made in the testing, they stuck to it and now they can't let it be known. The guy meanwhile remains in jail, and the courts won't allow any more testing. Initially it was said there were no more traces available then it came out in court there were.... then they got 'ruined' by bad conservation.

It got so bad that one woman had 3 kids and the husband found out that in the time he was with her his 3 kids turned out to all be other guy's kids? Like that's impressive ngl... to be with someone that long and all 3 kids are from affairs

Remember they had said that the medical examiner who did the autopsy said that she was NOT sexually assaulted, even though her bra was unhooked. But later they said they discovered DNA on her underwear. Now I'm no expert but how tf did his DNA get on her underwear if he didn't sexually assault her?!

But damn. His 10 Years, if theres a 1 tiny small mistake he did, he probably long gone in prison. Its really a miracle and blessing i guess that he survived that 10 Hell Years specially being blamed for something he didnt do.
All those shitting on him in the name of Justice and Good thing, are so disgusting to watch. He got 1,2 million and public apology which should have erased his any bad record.

You know what? Someone said they felt bad saying hearing stories like these them to sleep quickly. They would replay the story all over again. Because they were really interested in how it would end. A lot of these stories, no happy endings.
They Mostly emded very badly. we feel bad for the families and their friends. It hurts more when it concerns a child this gentleman kept falling asleep During a particular story. He wanted to know what happened to the two kids that had been taken One saturday morning He sat down to hear the whole story determined to get to the end of it. He was floored when he heard how the search was still going on after nine months, He knew exactly where those 2 children are. At first, he felt very guilty and beat himself. From not staying awake so many times while these 2 children were being used for the worst imaginal reasons. He had a New neighbor who had moved Into the complex during the Start of the christmas Holiday. He got dressed immediately ran down got into his car. He made the ten minute drive in umder five minutes to the local police station. He ran in crying, screaming and saying. I know where these children are, but of course. The police had no idea what he was talking about. They took them into an interrogation on They worked hard on calming him down. By the time he was done telling his Story they asked him. How did he figure that this is the man that took those children? He replied, The new neighbor had to by law go around informing the Neighbors that he was a registered offender but In the meanwhile. His wife died and he had no time for anything else. Except to quietly raise his children.
the police Shown the man 30 different pictures of the sex offenders in the area.
He knew exactly who the man in the 16th Picture was. . It was his new neighbor the 2:00 The widower with the two children. A team was quickly assembled and dispatched to the address of the complex. They kept the man and At the police station to make sure the man Will definitely point out the offender and the process can begin. By the time the police came back with the offender and not the gentleman said yes, that is Him. The family arrived shortly thereafter and They kept asking about their children were there even alive? But the police told Them to please be patient, One wrong move and the sex offender can go free. An hour later the hospital called the police station And said they Were traumatized
And we're put into a medically Induced coma. They were emaciated, extremely mal nourished, they had bruises cigarette burns And have been forced to do despicable things for the man to make videos and sell them. The offender also made videos of him drugging both children and doing despicable disgusting acts. The doctors brought them out of their coma 3 days later. When they saw their parents, they more told, there will be going home shortly. The kids began to scream and cry. This was highly unusual and they called them A psychiatrist and child protect services. The fake parents and the Uncle who weren't Uncle have been doing all kinds of things to make themselves what they were. They felt they were too good to make minimum Wage. When they can make almost a million a year. The saddest part of this was that both children while awaiting placement to a safe family begged the good Samaritan to take them to roof for air. They climbed up to the roof. There they left behind a note saying our guardians took over 50 children, and then they move us around. We do not want to live in a world where bad people change their names and not their behavior. The man who saved them added .......I didn't want them to die alone. I agree with them. All 3 jumped holding hands.
I couldn't read anymore nor did I search what country. These days I listen to horror stories. Can sleep better

It seems like a lot of true crime channels use the same terrible upscaler on their images. I'm seeing strange artifacts on eyes, hair looks like spiderwebs and on one of the black and white images in this video the upscaler gave a man blue lipstick. So a disclaimer (upscaled) next to the "Actual Photo" text might be an idea. And maybe look into other ways to upscale images. You can get some incredible results with stable diffusion lately. All you need is a 5 year old graphics card and an afternoon of light research.
